Festive rotation and Mark and Granville’s rivalry were among the key discussions taking place amongst the community this week. Elsewhere, veteran poster, Christina, upped his game to deliver a pair of popular hot topics; we take a look back on these, whilst rounding off with our usual focus on the tournaments active in the community.

The Hottest Topics

Just how much rotation will there be during the hectic festive fixture list? Greenwindmill has been offering some crumbs of comfort with his detailed analysis of how the team sheets panned out over winter last season. For a number of sides, in particular Everton and Southampton, he found that rotation was less severe than we expected. The Serjeant has also been looking at festive rotation and in particular to investigate which teams have the most cluttered Christmas.

For those looking to scrape the very darkest depths of the Premier League barrel Christina has been on hand to look at the slender pickings among the worst performing clubs. Jonathan Walters and Dimitar Berbatov are among those ultra-differentials being offered up.

Not sure what they’ve been putting in the water at Christina’s place, but the community verteran has been flying this week, notching up a second hot topic nomination, this time looking ahead to the January Wildcard and the best time to throw it down.

The tussle for supremacy among ScoutCast rivals Mark and Granville has captured the imagination of Just A Hat this week, who wonders if Granville will maintain his mini-league lead. Lateriser12 feels that Granville is set thrash Mark this season, while Tinkerman envisages a miraculous comeback for Mark.

Among those to answer our hot topic about whether Christmas is the season for giving our bench fodder an overhaul, or taking a risk that they won’t be needed was Fratboy, who is seizing the moment to ditch Cardiff’s Jordan Mutch.

Captaining a player in an early Saturday kick off is often seen as the nemesis of any superstitious Fantasy Football manager. Luckily Nice To Finally Michu was on hand to run roughshod over this old wives tale. His analysis of captain options in the early games this season so far show that whether a player starts at 12:45pm or 3pm makes no difference to their chances of racking up a respectable points haul. I also dropped my monkey’s foot in surprise.

The Community Leagues

Thomass67 tells us he is launching a doubles ‘Big Bash League’ shortly. For more information and to register ahead of the November 29 deadline click here.

TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing lost another 32 managers this week leaving 586 left. Myo Min Thant leads seeding for the FPL Open and Beric leads for the Elite 64 competition. More details can be found here.

Meanwhile the FFS UEFA FA Cup Tournament is underway this weekend. A review of last week’s stage and the latest on this week’s can be seen here.

Really hard to go without Aguero to the next gameweek. Could do Özil&Giroud > Ramsey&Aguero -4pts.

Arsenal has better fixtures coming up than City, so really torn.. Those transfers would left me with 0.0 left so can't really take any price drops. What would you guys do?

Yes. Def gonna get him eventually but was thinking I might be able to go until GW 19 without him. Swansea game is massive but then 3 games away and home to Pool and Arsenal in the next 5.

Arsenal has 3 nice fixtures but then ***t hits the fan. Now that Wally is back, Özil might play in the hole and score more. Wally provided some nice balls to Giroud as well early in the season and Ramsey game time could lessen now that Arsenal are pretty much injury free.

I need a keeper. Current team:

    Harper and Steer
    Koscielny, Clyne, Johnson (Dawson, Chester)
    Ozil Ramsey Barkley Sessegnon (Whittingham)
    Aguero Rooney Suarez

Looking like an Ozil switch to generate funds. Need to do a -4 to get a goalie.

    Thoughts?

well ye id take a hit as in actuality it more a -2 most likely but i wouldnt drop ozil for these next fixtures. Ramsey is due some rotation with theo back , so i would do ramsey to morrison if i were you to generate funds for keeper.

Looking at my team I am a bit stuck for transfer inspiration.

I have 2 transfers so it is use it or lose it...

    Marshall - Harper
    Johnson - Terry - Evans - Rat - Turner
    Oscar - Nasri - Ramsey - Ravel - JWP
    Aguero - Rooney - Suarez

One option is Rat -> Gabbidon (and bank the 0.5m)... Problem is I would probably play Rat this week.

You don't have to ditch Marshall, you could do Harper -> Gazz and free up 0.1M for instance. If you really have nothing you want to change, that's what I'd do. Rat has great fixtures so if he's fit...

    Suarez - 9pts
    Aguero - 15
    Rooney - 15
    Lukaka - 13
    Hazard - 10
    Oscar - 13

I can't imagine anyone deviating from that bunch.

Hats off to Aguero captain owners, as I don't think anyone seen a 6 niller coming?!

I was happy with my Suarez points after the game, I didn't once expect the Ethiad avalanche of Aguero (c) points.

I am TAMPING with Nastasic though 😡

Do they have much to play for though? Essentially already qualified with a home game against a poor side. I wouldn't be surprise to see Kun get a rest.

True, but he's playing a fairly solid team away while Aguero are playing a team who hasn't been too solid at home. I'm almost 100% sure Aguero won't play 90 this midweek since he played a lot for Argentine.

            Posted this last night.

Hull are in the same situation as "Spurs are solid away". They haven't played anyone difficult at home.

NOR, CAR, WHM, AVL(-benteke), SUN, CPL

            Terrible attacking teams.

They'll get thrashed this weekend me thinks.

If I hadnt done KToure -> McAuley for a hit, I wud hv got Walker's -2.
So sometimes hits for defenders can be useful.

    Ok then...

I've lost patience with the Swansea defence.

5.4m or lower for a defender.

    I'm thinking Kos or Skertl.

Which one, or can you recommend any others.

Yeah, they are the best at those prices, although I think there will be rotation at CB for LIV - Sakho (and even Toure) won't stay on the bench all season, especially after shipping 3 las week. Kos for me from those 2.

Considered downgrading to a cheapie to facilitate getting Roonety for Lukaku next week? Vlaar looks decent, or even Lowton for the attacking threat.
