As always, we cast our eye over the statistics across the previous round of matches to highlight some of the stand-out performers. Chelsea’s change of formation bodes well for their midfield veteran, United’s former Toffee provides chances aplenty, Villa’s misfiring frontman still has reason for optimism, while Liverpool’s young full-back delivers a tenacious display in the Merseyside derby:

Saw Sessegnon's miss on Midlands today earlier.
Feel a bit like the chap off 'Taken'... I will find him, and I will teach him, how to kick a ball.Open Controls-
Could have been a 15 pointer 🙁 But at least it wasn't as bad as Joe Allen's miss this week. That was HORRIFIC

Did Chelsea buy such a huge squad so they'd have enough players every time Mourinho makes 11 mistakes?

Baines > Murner/Rat/Flanagan if you got the balls.
Next week Walcott or another heavy hitter in for Sess. Could even do it now but hit might not pay off.Open Controls-
Oooooh. Tempting, hmmmm. Now I've a bit of a conundrum. Thanks.

Is Evans too risky, with fixtures coming thick and fast?
Open Controls-
Probably the least risky of United CBs
Open Controls -
Would probably prefer Jones with Carrick ruled out till the new year
Open Controls-
Wouldn't Jones slot in the midfield?
Leaving only Vidic/Rio/Smalling to compete with.
I think Evans should start most matches.Open Controls-
Yeah Jones in midfield with the occasional game at CB or RB when Cleverley/Fellaini start. I think Jones will start more till January so prefer him.
Open Controls-
Much more expensive though. Prefer Agger at that price.
Open Controls-
-
I like Jones in midfield and think there's extra points on offer there (probably influenced by me somehow getting him for that goal against Villa) but is there a risk that if he doesn't make midfield he drops to the bench altogether?
Open Controls-
Yeah there is. But not sure that's a greater risk than Evans being rotated with Rio or Smalling at some point. Jones is probably our 1st choice CM now with Carrick out. Him + Cleverley look good, with Fellaini 3rd choice between them.
Open Controls-
Yeah agreed. Did well in those two games so far. Am prepared to make the extra investment to get him.

Transfer this week...
a) Lukaku + Lallana --> Aguero + RavMo (-4)
b) Rooney --> Aguero
c) Lallana --> Walcott or similarly priced mid or even just RavMo and keep funds for Januzaj-->Walcott in the future.Open Controls-
-
It feels kind of wrong having no attacking ManU cover for their good run of fixtures up to christmas though
Open Controls-
Feels more wrong to not have Aguero! I have same dilemma of whether to get Lukaku or Rooney out for Aguero but I think Lukaku and Roon will end up with similar points - Rooney's stats when RVP is in the team aren't great, and while I think he will do great I still think Lukaku is a beast. Bad gw16 and 17 but after that very nice fixtures. And this week he should outscore Rooney
Open Controls
-
-
-
-
You reckon? My mid would be Hazard, Gerrard, Sess, RavMo, Januzaj. And attack Suarez, Rooney, Aguero. However I did fancy having 3 big hitting mids so keeping Lukaku up top might be the only way to do that...
Open Controls-
I think remy @ 6.7 pts per game is better value than Rooney @ 7.0 pts per game (3m difference!)
Here is why:

AVB on way out according to guardian.if he loses this job, his credibility as a serious manager will be shot, and at such a young age. would be absolutely humiliating for him. he deserves to see out the rest of the season and see if he can turn things around.
Open Controls-
The amount of money he spent this season though, there must be so much more pressure than last season
They say the more managers spend the less time they have to get it rightOpen Controls-
Spurs having expectation because of the money they spend is ridiculous. Spurs always make a profit in summer. Fact.
Open Controls-
This isn't just this summer since selling bale.. every season people bang on about how much money spurs spend so expectations are high. Last 3 seasons overall Spurs have net profit of about 20 million overall.
Any money spent is only from selling their best players so they have to constantly rebuild. Unfair pressure no managers.Open Controls

GERRARD OR COUT?
Open Controls -
A) Who to pick from these defenders for gameweek 13 & 14. I need 3...
Evans/Vertonghen/Rat/Coleman/Terry
B) Who to pick from these mids for gameweek 13 & 14. I need 4...
Schurrle/Walcott/Mirallas/Sissoko/Gerrard

Can't have any ManU forwards during the decent run of fixtures? Who is the best pick for the midfield....?
A Kagawa
B Januzaj
C ValenciaOpen Controls -
Want to do Ozil to Gerrard this week but that would leave me with no arsenal cover....crazy??
Open Controls-
I wouldn't do it.
Open Controls -
Seems an odd trannie, or are you saving cash for something?
Open Controls-
That is a factor but mainly I just look at Liverpools next three and think that Gerrard will produce. That plus I really think Ozil will be rested if not the Cardiff game then definitely the Hull game.

Gutted for AVB if these rumours are to be believed. Great tactician and strategist no doubt but the biggest traits required of a manager imo (man management skills) are lacking in him.
Might be the end for him in England for sure.Open Controls-

Haha

Got to deliver the goods otherwise the theory is just a facade. I think even his tactics have come into question now as they're simply dogma (spurs fans will lose sleep for years to come at the mention of inverted wingers) as opposed to evidence based. If it doesn't work with the players, change it. The high line didn't work at Chelsea from what I saw because his defenders were slow - he stick to this as dogma, again. If he is not evidence based, he is in his own way as set in his ways as the stereotypical English manager, just more fashionable.
And this is coming from someone who initially supported him at Chelsea.Open Controls-
The high line doesn't work because he insists on playing Dawson.
Open Controls-
Aaaaand the cycle repeats 🙂

Well said. He's from the Mourinho School of Management though. Adamant on using his own theory/system and players have to find a way to play around it. I thought AVB this year would bring back the days of Mourinho in 2004-05, but I guess Mourinho has that charisma/leadership (don't know what it is) that got new players working together back then.
Granted, he needed time to get the squad gelling and the players needed time to adjust to each other's styles. But it's gone from bad to worse. Most results have been rather flukey and fortunate for them innit?Open Controls-
Yeah, you know what, I think both avb and Mourinho after 2012 lack the magic man management touch Mourinho had back in 2004-06. Didn't Lampard say Mourinho took him aside and told him "you can be the greatest player in the world" and he just believed him without doubt and played as if he was?
While an unusually bad day for Spurs I think the city game showed exactly what spurs were missing: moves that headed into the goal. For some reason Spurs go in front of the goal, around the goal, back in front of the goal without ever going anywhere you really can put the ball into the goal.Open Controls-
Anyway, TL:DR; all theory no execution so far. Hopefully he fixes that.
