DZers. Looking for some opinion. Im considering Ozil -> Gerrard as my transfer for this week. The reasons for this are:
Liverpools next three fixtures are tasty!
He's been scoring consistently
Frees up funds
Think Ozil is a rotation risk
It does however leave me with no arsenal coverage

I doubt he is completely nailed on for every game over the festive, but Gerrard definitely is...

There's been a recent tactical shift with Ozil that Arsenal watchers may have seen. In the last 3 GWs (LIV, mun, SOU) Ozil has played more advanced, closer to Giroud, in front of the rest of the midfield, like a second striker. As a result in my opinion he's actually got worse as he sees less of the ball - this is backed up by a noticeable decline in passes received, passes made, and touches. This may contribute to the perception that he has gone missing in recent games, ooth in real and fantasy football. In this period he scored 6, 2, 3.
I think the intention of moving him forward was to increase his assists and goals by placing him closer to the action, but what's happened is that he's become isolated.Open Controls-
A comparison of Ozil's stats from GW4-9 and GW10-13 is quite baffling actually and seems to confirm that this slight positional shift is a huge factor in his downturn in form...

Ozil, my man... you vex me... I've been thinking about you all week, when really I should be catching up on sleep... the thing is, you really need to be scoring me at least 5-6 points every week for 10.5m buddy... 3, 6, 2, 3 after that nice little haul you gave me just doesn't cut it... and as a result, you are my million dollar question this week, aren't you?
He's been in pretty poor form recently, and he then proceeds to miss a ridiculously poor penalty v Marseille, but quickly responded with an assist for Wilshere's 2nd goal... and was arguably the best player on the pitch in the second half...
So, are we to deduce that he has regained his confidence, that he the mental toughness to overcome the disappointment of missing the penalty, and therefore turn his form around just in time for me not to transfer him out and bloody miss his next double figure haul...?
Mert came out in the media today and said that there is much more to come from him soon, and that he will bounce back etc... is this him just trying to back his compatriot and take the pressure off him, or is revealing inside information that Ozil is now over the worst of his spells and that he is ready to tear Cardiff, Hull and Everton a new arsehole?
I leave that question to you... cos I can't decide if it's the right move to transfer him out or not...

I think he's like a silva deluxe version, he will get loads of assists and a few goals (around 8 for season), a consistent source of point. At 10.5 though he needs to be regularly explosive and armband contender but he's not. So your not going to feel completely happy owning. Considering price the ones u mention a better IMO, apart from maybe coutinho.

Unfortunetely, bad luck w/ going for 5.0 Carvajal upon Marca preview Lineup and Arbeloa was the one who started, Negredo in from bench (even tho he scored). Ended having to downgrade Vidal > Pogba last hr to upgrade to Negredo and that made all the diff.Open Controls-
