Michu recovers from injury and manages the full 90 minutes in Swansea’s home draw against Hull. Chico nets for the hosts but is set to miss out miss weekend through suspension, Michel Vorm is likely to require knee surgery, while Robbie Brady warms the Tigers bench as Danny Graham opens his account for the season against his former club:

Michu Back in the Mix
The Spaniard made a surprise return to action last night, having been expected to be sidelined until mid-December. Pre-match, his manager admitted Michu was not yet 100% but still managed to give him the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw – given his lack of match-sharpness, his blank against the Tigers was perhaps understandable but it now means he has failed to score in each of his last six league starts for the Swans. Now down to a mere 6% ownership in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and coming in at 8.5, some may still be tempted, but a look at the fixture ticker indicates Swansea have it far from easy over the next few matches – Everton, Chelsea, City, United and Spurs in the next seven suggests last season’s Fantasy phenomenon may well toil to get amongst the goals anytime soon.

Earlier in the day, reports had suggested Wilfried Bony was set to make an appearance from the bench after also recovering quickly from a hamstring injury but Michael Laudrup admitted after the match he’s likely to be a little cautious with the Ivorian:

“Bony is a little better, but we have to be careful because we are talking about a muscle injury. With a muscle injury, if you come back one day too early, you could have a setback and be out for four weeks. We don’t want that.”

Defensive Setbacks for Swans
With three clean sheets in their previous four at the Liberty, a shut-out looked a strong possibility for Swansea last night. Michel Vorm missed out again through an ongoing knee problem, allowing Gerhard Tremmel another chance between the sticks and, whilst the visitors’ early goal killed off the prospects off defensive returns, Chico’s owners were treated to a nine-point haul after the centre-half finally delivered the goal his attacking statistics have hinted at all season. The Spaniard picked up his fifth yellow card of the season late on, however, meaning he will now miss the weekend trip to Norwich. Ashley Williams moved onto the Suspension Tightrope after collecting his fourth booking of the campaign, whilst Laudrup admitted his goalkeeper is likely to require an operation to rectify his problem, though he’s yet to decide when this will take place:

“Michel’s knee is swollen, and he has had a scan today. He can go on, but I think at some point we will have to make a decision at a certain point that he needs surgery. We’re not talking a long period of absence – maybe four or five weeks, maybe a little less.”

Shelvey in the Points Again
Tucked in behind Michu as the most advanced central midfielder, the former Liverpool man supplied the assist for Chico’s equaliser to continue his impressive recent showings. Shelvey has begun to return attacking points at a fairly consistent rate now and has produced the goods in all but one of the last five Gameweeks – with two goals, three assists and three bonus points over that run, he was snapped up by over 161,000 Fantasy managers heading into the weekend deadline and, while his owners will be happy to hold in light of last night’s display, the above-mentioned schedule may be enough to deter many for now.

Brady Benched as Graham Returns to Haunt Swans
While the headlines surrounded Danny Graham’s early opener against his former club, a first goal of the season for the 5.0 priced forward is hardly going to attract Fantasy managers’ attentions. Instead, the omission of Robbie Brady from the Hull XI will have caused plenty consternation to the patient managers who have kept faith in the midfielder over the last few weeks. With Steve Bruce handing Maynor Figueroa the left wing-back role, Brady remained on the visitors’ bench for the entire 90 minutes of the 1-1 draw and now seems to have fallen out of favour due to a lack of form. Owned by 8.7% FPL managers (Liam Rosenior is the second most popular outfield player for Hull with 3.5%), the Republic of Ireland international has now failed to produce any points since Gameweek 6 and now looks set to be offloaded by plenty in light of last night’s non-appearance.

For me and anyone that knows me I have been unreserved in saying long before this ' bad run ' that he should never have been given this position.
Losing the back room staff was appalling especially Terry Phelan in a handover but to appoint not only Moyes and then his ' rookie ' assistant - Phil Neville was a calamity waiting to happen .
This current standing of Manchester United is simply not good enough and the Glaziers do not have the wherewithal to steer us out of it , I genuinely fear the worst and recall the dark days of Ron Atkinson and those early Saf years

That's the problem ain't it - he's a good manager not a great one and the days of man Utd having time to rebuild are long gone .
We are one of the top names in the world in anything not to mention Sport .
Transition ? Why does one of the biggest clubs in the world need time for transition ?
Simply not good enough , saf has some blame here , the Glaziers have blame here , Moyes has blame here , it's horrendous - do we want to oh down the same road as Liverpool ?
NO the rot needs to stop , I'd sack Moyes right here right now his results and nothing else warrants it .
Why haven't we attracted the likes of Hazzard /mata/ Aguero / Suarez / Fabregas in the last fee seasons ?
The glaziers continue to put personal gain before the club and Ferguson was a yes man for them.
Someone would want to wake up soon and smell the coffee.

Repost bottom of page and no answers:/

Hey guys not sure what to do with my team, it is very tight in my ML and none of them have Rooney so I'm thinking about bringing him in..

    My team now is:

    Howard Daniel(or something like that)
    Terry Coleman Vlaar Gabbidon Chester
    Walcott Coutinho Hazard Ramsey Shelvey
    Aguero Suarez Remy

My plan is Remy+Coutinho -> Sterling (Nailed on through christmas it looks like and can be benched) + Rooney

This is for a hit but it is so tempting to get Rooney as the only one in my ML..
This would leave 1m in the bank, possible for upgrading Vlaar to Koscielny after next week or after Arsenals though fixtures?

    Thanks!

If Aguero gets rested tonight he's my captain on sat.

My reasoning , Arsenal play in Italy to.tomorrow night and I think Wenger will play his strongest 11 v Napoli and City , therefore some will be slightly fatiqued for the early kick off on sat.

Barkley doesn't play regularly. Look at his gametime.

Deulofeu is competing with Mirallas, who is a permanent Everton player and has to get preference as long as he's performing.

Pablo was a punt gone wrong it seems. 2 easyish fixtures down and no attacking points to show for it.

Can someone who watched the game at least tell me he was a threat and had some good chances?

Gunna give him another shot against Norwich anyway

Saw that before the injury - definitely more goal threat than earlier I think. Was in the hole at the start of the season which got me excited (lol) though will probably be cutting in from the left with Nasri on the right when he returns now?

        Considering after ARS.

+1. 4-2-2-2 is the way to go, he'll keep drifting in from the left when they are attacking, works wonders as far as I can see.

Says here he's been playing on the left cutting in this seasons so far: http://www.whoscored.com/Players/14102/

Still a good option mind. Interesting to see if Nasri is dropped, assuming Silva starts vs Arsenal. Or whether Pellegrini goes with Milner/Navas on one side.

Nah I'll correct that to he was playing surprisingly centrally, yes there wasn't a hole in the games I was referring to (Newcastle & Cardiff) - Dzeko was there. Although he was nominally on the left he spent much of his time in the centre with Navas providing the width on the right. I know he normally drifts centrally anyway, but I think it was more than normal.

I'm planning to sell Coutinho for him, it's just a matter of when. When depending on what his physical condition is like - say if he comes on tonight and looks really sharp I might even start considering him in for ARS. More likely I'll see how he gets on against Arsenal and decide whether to bring him in next week.

As for the rotation, City have actually done quite well without him but the people who have played in his absence (Milner and Navas) won't threaten his spot that much imo. Reckon Nasri will see more rotation.

With Vertonghen out for a month, would you still invest in Spurs defence? They have really nice 3-4 games from gw18. I was planning to go with Walker (rotation proof), but I might not have enough funds. Dawson was the second option, but he would probably be rested in gw 19. But with Vert's injury...
