The Dugout Discussion – Saturday

14 December 2013 4309 comments

Share:

Saturday rolls on with a set of five afternoon kick-offs, rounded off unceremoniously by a tea-time clash as Hull City host Stoke. Interesting.

Before that, all eyes will be on Goodison and Stamford Bridge where two prime captain candidates – namely Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard, will carry the hopes of thousands of Fantasy managers as they face up to the Fulham and Crystal Palace defences respectively.

The afternoon’s events are completed by West Brom’s trip to Cardiff, while Newcastle host Southampton and an injury-ravaged West Ham entertain Sunderland.

As always, you can look to our twitter feed for details of the major movements on the teamsheets, while our Dugout Discussion chatroom will take you through today’s matches, right up until the final whistle at the KC Stadium.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

That's a bit like saying "let's say for argument's sake Walcott scores a double hat trick next week".

Under that situation it's a no brainer, but if Aguero is only out for a week then it would be a pretty terrible move.

          Open Controls
          1. M83
            12 years, 10 months ago

Bunk, come on, use your head a bit. Aguero is injured, and Pelligrini mentioned it could be "weeks", so its hardly that speculative. 12 odd million is a lot to have tied up in a player who could miss 5/6 games and whose value would drop significantly. And seeing as a lot of people have him, it seems only natural to look at alternatives and have backup plans.

Amal is the price change out of that lot.

I avoid early transfer too, but sometimes it had to be done. Those are good transfers.

Although consider Berbatov. Check out his stats over next 3(for new manager) vs rest of the season...

fixtures pretty good baring the next.

Lukaku is rising too I think so that definitely puts them out of my budget.

I didn't get Howard this week and am pretty glad I didn't against Fulham, they are turning around. Two pens though and will be difficult for them to sustain it.

Its more the amount of shots he is taking and the chances he is creating under the new manager. It is very impressive. Seems Jol was stiffling him.

And it's not a townsend/Pualinho sort of situation, we know from the past Berb is a quality striker and can be clinical.

I know it's a punt, but imo a good one.

Man City have played 8 away games this season, and 6 off them have come against bottom half teams.

    Their record: W2, L4, D2

They still have to go to Goodison, Anfield, WHL, Old Trafford, Emirtaes, Sports Direct Arena

So basically Arsenal will still win the title 😎

If you got him in at 11.0 then there's no point getting him out right now. Should have news in the next couple of days and you can afford his price to fall by 0.1 without it affecting the selling price (i.e. it will still be 11.7).

Gotta be Rooney. You get some change. Fantastic fixtures. RVP out. Rooney in form even if Man United currently aint. Its the obvious change to make if you haven't got Rooney, plus he is a bit of a differential.

Everything points to him being the correct transfer to make if Aguero is out for a few weeks.
