Our coverage of the official UEFA Fantasy Champions League game returns ahead of tonight’s 7.30 pm deadline. After last week’s pair of fixtures produced just one goal between them, Fantasy managers are hoping for an improvement as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid look to fire their way into next month’s final. We’ve picked one player per side and once again avoided the usual suspects:

Thomas Muller – the Bayern striker may well get the nod ahead of Mario Mandzukic after the Croatian’s ineffectual display in last week’s narrow loss at the Bernabeu. Muller – priced at 11.0 and owned by less than 3% of Fantasy managers – is more than capable of picking up the points even if restricted to a substitute role, though, and could well be key as Pep Guardiola’s side look to overcome a 1-0 deficit and remain in with a shout of retaining the trophy.

Karim Benzema –having notched the match-winner last time around, the Frenchman will fancy his chances of getting amongst the goals once again. With the searing pace of Cristiano Ronaldo and fit-again Gareth Bale on the flanks (the Welshman has recovered from last week’s flu bug) Carlo Ancelotti’s side look perfectly poised to hit Bayern on the counter and Benzema, priced at 11.5 and owned by 3%, could be the main beneficiary as the Spanish outfit look to stay on course for La Decima and win the competition for the tenth time.

Gary Cahill – handed a brief sub role in the weekend win at Liverpool, the Chelsea centre-half (priced at 5.5 and owned by 2%) will return to the starting line-up for tomorrow’s home game with Atletico. The tie is tentatively balanced after a goalless first-leg but with both John Terry and Petr Cech back in training, the Blues may well have a full-strength backline to face Diego Simeone’s side – as Sunday’s game at Anfield showed, Jose Mourinho’s side are second-to-none at delivering clean sheets in the games that matter most.

Diego Godin – the centre-half has been vital at both ends of the pitch for the La Liga leaders this term. The 5.5-priced Godin (owned by 1% of Fantasy managers) has chipped in with five goals and an assist across all competitions and bearing in mind Diego Simeone’s side have failed to concede in each of their last six, Mourinho’s side will have a tough task to break down Atletico’s well-drilled rearguard at the Bridge tomorrow night.

This dgw is driving me crazy. Am i stupid to drop a 16 point hit? Already up -4. Am ahead in all mini leagues by 30 points at least, and am chasing 15 in another big cash one.

Am worried going in without mata. have 2.4 in bank

    Current team is

    speroni,
    azpi, alonso, davies
    yaya, nasri, puncheon, ramsey
    rooney, aguero, suarez

    (marshall, snodgrass, ward, burner)

Just checked my ML - and I've just been replaced at the top.

My rival played his wildcard and hit the jackpot - Rooney, Mata, Yaya, Jones, Wickham. With double Arsenal defence and Demechelis to top it off.

    106 points.

    62nd in the gameweek ranking.

I'm kind of in awe...that's how you play a wildcard!

Adebayor -> Dzeko (-4) worth it? Chances of Dzeko playing both games can't be too high.

I believe Dzeko will start at least one, and come on as a sub in the other one, if not start both. I've gone with home over Aguero, so I can get Yaya & Rooney in.

double Sunderland defence with Mannone and Alonso. Thoughts?

Not sure on Chester as Hull seem to have 1 eye on Wembley and Cahill to Alonso or Suarez to Wickham are the only moves I can afford to find other transfers

£10 returns £540 if you do Ribery to score first and Bayern to win 3-1, that's quite good odds imo, can't remember what bookies it was though

        Evening all, need some advice.
        My Current team is:
        Mannone - Adrian
        Demichelis - Azpilicueta - Bardsley - Dann - Chester
        Mata - Gerrard - Ramsey - Eriksen - Mutch
        Suarez - Lukaku - Dzeko
        £7.5m ITB
Is Lukaku -> Rooney, Chester -> Jones, Gerrard -> Toure worth -8?
I'll still have £1.5m ITB if I do them, so any other possible transfers you guys would reccomend?

Gerrard to Mata or Yaya? Or both (-4) for ramsey/eriksen/nasri.

I did both.. It's DGW so as long as they play both games 60 min, the cost per transferring in a DGW player for me is 2 and not 4 (2 recouped from playing 60 mins in a worse case scenario)

ya I had the same problem.. Other transfer was Baines to Azpi to free up cash.

I would drop Gerrard and Nasri (considering you already have Aguero as well)

Gerrard and Eriksen would be my second choice solely based on not dropping a player with DGW but still I'm doubtful or Nasri returns between Yaya and Aguero

Depends a bit on who your H2H opponent has to a degree I suppose. I would expect high quality players to return the hit over the double, but you also have a final to consider, so probably need to check all three teams and then decide.

Depends how important this mini-league is to you.
If it is a priority, neutralise him with the Giroud transfer.
Otherwise Wickham is a more fun pick with more potential imo.

I saw your response above but if you had to chose

                  a) Alonso and Suarez (wouldn't be able to afford Evra)

                  b) Cahill and Wickham (can basically do anything I want but have to spend my GW38 transfer bringing Suarez back in.

Well, I don't like the choice, but I prefer b) - very much depending on UCL. 😕

indeed on UCL, you think if Chelsea win, go with a

sadly those are my only real options to afford the other moves i wish to make.

OK. Nasty, on account of the timing of the UCL match.

A is the answer. Don't ask Doos about Suarez transfers.

This would normally be true, but JK and I are mates. 😉

It sounds like you want to go B more than A but have the saurez fear.
Your gut is saying B so if can't decide then that is your deciding factor, then you can only blame yourself or glow with pride

If Muller for Bayern doesn't start, I am thinking of transferring him for Benzema, Manduzik or even Torres rather than transfer the non-playing Gabi out for Suarez. I don't think it's worth a two point hit to do so.

Am I overreacting from the one point return by Muller in the last game when he came on for 16 minutes.?? I know Muller is a dynamic player.

                Everton Fans.....

Is it better to get beat by Man City at the weekend and stop Liverpool winning the league, or battle for the slim chance of champions league and hand the title to your rivals?

I think I know the answer here, though it won't be unanimous. (Liverpool fan)
