We delve into the Gameweek 36 data this evening after Arsenal’s clash with Newcastle drew the line under another round of matches. With the double Gameweek fast approaching, we cast any eye over some standout performers from City, United, Sunderland and West Brom, whilst we also analyse a couple of popular Fantasy protagonists whose recent droughts are persuading many owners to part company:

        Let me explain

Once upon a time Carlo manage Chelsea

Ironacly, again once upon a time Jose managed Real

Now this may not be classified as epic for you.

It's probably because you may think arsenal winning fa cup after an Almost decade and grabbing 4th spot is more epic.

        Rant over.

I cant wait for the Chelsea match tonight.

Perfect chance to get a wee nap.

Jose is a tactical genius. I mean telling his players to keep a backline of 10 & catch a team on the break when they make a mistake, or use a set piece to bore out a 1-0 win...

    How genius!!

Plus fall over a lot, roll around the ground & taking 10 mins to take a kick out.

        Brilliant manager, yes.

        Tactical mastermind, no.

He can set up a team better than nearly anyone and he can get all of his players to die for him on the pitch, but he's not coming up with anything new, and he's not a genius, he just knows how to win and grind out results.

Frustrating Liverpool early in the game by wasting time was a tactical stroke as they always score early and take out the opposition by storm. Give him the credit for thinking this strategy apart from bus parking

He deserves credit and it was exactly what Chelsea needed to do but it wasn't a tactical masterclass, a masterclass is something very impressive that showed him to be a master at it, but Palace and West Ham and lots of others employ that tactic, I don't think Mourinho can say that was a masterclass when they just time wasted and booted the ball away at every opportunity, it would be different if they parked the bus and then also did something with the ball, but they barely even tried to play.

in fairness, the playacting is tedious.

but lining up teams to defend properly against high class opposition is simply not that easy.

if teams had any sense, they wouldn't press too hard but would let chelsea come on to them and then open up the game.

the tactis are walys fascinating for me.

I lost 0.9m by waiting to do my transfers last week which I knew at the start of the week. So fay I've lost 0.3m this week so theoretically I could have had a $5.8m defender like Kos instead of Alonso this week. Not sure that that is an improvement so actualy I am ok 🙂 Sorry about your situation though

Depressing isn't it? I don't remember it being much different this time last year.

FPL towers need to change the scoring to reward a wider pool of players - points for recovered balls etc Otherwise you end up where we are - only about 10 attacking players score well enough at any point in time to be worth owning.

Luckily FFS league in total represents only about 10% of the top 10k players and these forums no doubt even less so although you may not climb up or drop down the members or scout league we may still be pleasantly surprised how many non FFS players and dare I say it casual players can still be overtaken

Im always surprised how my consistently template team still makes up and loses ground with OR. I've been stuck between 100-150 in the members league which shows my consistency with the members though.

Teams are particularly similar this week so perhaps it will be less OR difference.

I dunno. So far my guess is he did Luk->Rooney for free. He has 3.8m ITB(!) and my guess is he will bring one of Kun(for Sturr) or Yaya/Silva for a Midf for -4.

That will bring lead down to 19 again.

So basically my main differentials are one of Yaya or Kun and Ramsey.

              😕

I have Demi, he has Zaba. Not much in that one. What worries me is my defence. I had to sell JT, while he hung onto Azpil.

                He also has AJ.

                I'm worried.

I wouldn't be worried about AJ. He is also one of my own differentials, and I'm not very confident he will contribute with anything to reduce the gap.

Dzeko is probably the most tempting option for me, just not sure if I'll have the cojones to captain him as well.

That's pretty much where I'm at myself.

Rival has probably brought in Rooney, Mata and another doubler. Already has Yaya and Kun. Can't see myself catching him unless he fails miserably with the captaincy

I can narrow it down to Rooney or Aguero for you.

I've not decised between the 2, Rooney form at home pretty good. Aguero will probably get taken off second half if City build a lead, taking the edge off any explosion risk. So I'm leaning towards Rooney but could easily flip back

I don't think so. By that point they could be assured of a CL place with the FA Cup Final round the corner and an 'easy' opponent. Could be rotation central

yeah, but thinking that those two defenders would be less prone to rotation that midfield

Maybe, but you asked about 'sure starters'. No-one in that team can be considered 100% assured to start under those conditions.

    Morning folks!

    Should i do this....?

    1FT and 0.6 ITB.

    Thinking a -8 for

    Suarez > Sturridge
    Eriksen/Ramsey > Yaya
    Coleman > Evra.

Im chasing a 6 point lead and i currently have...

    Boruc (Davis)
    Flanagan Coleman Azpil (Ward Mariappa)
    Eriksen Mata(vc) Ramsey Nasri (Noone)
    Suarez Aguero Rooney(C)

I know it was a daft tackle and Alonso has won the CL before but I can't have that a player should be deprived of playing in one of the biggest games in the world of football for picking up two yellows. The punishment is too harsh. Only red cards should constitute a ban.

    Agree?

      I can see both sides.

I think bans should still be in place otherwise players would just do what they want.

Maybe even increase the ban to every 3 yellow cards after the group stages or something like that.

It would still employ a ban and aim at reducing silly fouling, and at the same time leave the responsibility on the player to make sure he doesn't miss the final

My crazy -12 (Considering Silva isn't fit)

    Suarez + Eriksen + Silva + Distin OUT >>> Wickham + Yaya + Mata + Evra IN

    Would give me:

    Mannone
    Kosc Azpi Evra
    Ramsey Yaya Mata Nasri
    Rooney Wickham Kun

    xx Sterling Dann Dummett

Have enough to bring in Suarez in gw 38

Go for it, My gut is telling me people have missed Wickham's points but he has the extra game with decent fixtures and the other 3 transfers all look good, only other option is Borini who despite having penalties and arguable being the better player of the 2 is not on the same run of form

I think United have the better fixtures for the DGW, but at least you know Demi/Zab/Komp are nailed on. I'd probably go for a City defender, Wham in 38 when Man Utd play Soton is also a plus

    Eriksen > Yaya

    Worth a -4?

I don't like the Suarez to Sturridge part

I saw above Coleman > Evra (-4) is your other move and I think that is about neutral.

How much would you have to spend on a replacement for Coleman to fund the Erik > Yaya transfer?

12k OR now. What should be my realistic aim to finish this season ? 10k? or less than that something around 7-8k ?

10 k is definitely reachable in two GW's. With the DGW it's probably possible to finish higher as well.
