We delve into the Gameweek 36 data this evening after Arsenal’s clash with Newcastle drew the line under another round of matches. With the double Gameweek fast approaching, we cast any eye over some standout performers from City, United, Sunderland and West Brom, whilst we also analyse a couple of popular Fantasy protagonists whose recent droughts are persuading many owners to part company:
-
After 35 games
Liverpool 80
Manchester City 77
Chelsea 75
BBC claims that Manchester City would be the first to win after being third after 35 games, they need to do their math better.Open Controls-
I think the BEEB is right and you are wrong
That league table isn't rightOpen Controls-
Liverpool lost in game 36 to Chelsea in game 36 so Chelsea increased to 78.
Being a point ahead of a team with 3 games in hand and saying your TOP OF THE TABLE is meaningless.Open Controls
-
-
Chelsea has 78 points, they beat Liverpool remember?
Open Controls-
In game 36 for them, they only had 75 points after 35 games.

Good game.

Luka Modric. Rubbish on FPL but runs a game of football like no other. Genius footballer.
IOpen Controls-

As a Spurs fan, watching the game today was a saddening experience. 🙁
Open Controls-
Even more so as a United fan. Exactly the player we need. 🙁
Open Controls-
I am not sure how it is more saddening for you, as a Man U fan. 😆 Granted, you do need a player like him.

Top player, mate. Wish he was still here.

Liverpool unfortunately and the thought disgusts me.

I agree with Beavis also.

Just whose been top after games played rather than the phony TOP OF TABLE with more games played.
Open Controls-
Sorry, I don't get you. Why is it phony? Everyone knows there are 38 games.
Open Controls-
At one point Manchester City had 3 games in hand. Being TOP OF THE TABLE ahead of them by less than 10 points would have been meaningless. That's why Jose laughed when referred to as TOP OF THE TABLE when Manchester City had so many games in hand.

I plan on having Aguero, Yaya Toure, Jones, Nasri, Rooney, Mannone and Amalfitano for the DGW. But I am worried about not owning Mata. In your opinion is this a problem and should I try to fit him in or is what I have sufficient?
Open Controls-
-
No I am taking a 4 point hit to transfer Baines and Gerrard to Toure and Jones.

Completely off topic but who are your favourite film directors?
Open Controls-
-
Solid outlier to begin with 😉
Open Controls
-
-
-
Not this ^^^. Crapper. 😉
Open Controls
-
-
-
-
Well, Coen brothers by a long shot.
Then Wes Anderson.Open Controls-
The three directors I really can't stand. Nothing personal but I've just never liked their films and I'm quite a film fanatic!
Open Controls-
Very interesting. I have seen everything by Coen brothers multiple times, and I find Wes Anderson quite creative & fun.
Open Controls-
Only movie I like is Big Lebowski to be honest from the Coens, not even No Country or Fargo.
Wes Anderson though, not for me at all. Royal Tenenbaums and Darjeeling Ltd were two of the most painful movies I've ever watched, time just wouldn't move at all and simply didn't get them.
Strange thing movies huh?Open Controls
-
-
-
This is appalling!!! 😆
Open Controls-
Boo
Open Controls
-
-
-
David Lean. Actually. 🙂
Open Controls -
Kubrik, Kurosawa and Tobe Hooper 😀
Open Controls -
John Carpenter, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Werner Herzog, Stanley Kubrick, Terry Gilliam, David Lynch, to name a few..
Open Controls -
Lars von Trier. But my favourite film's a Polanski.
Open Controls-
Love Dance of the Vampires myself. Not a fan of Lars - should watch Kingdom Come (?) again though.
Open Controls-
Called Vampire Hunters probably in the UK
Open Controls-
Yeah, The Fearless Vampire Hunters, isn't one of my favourite Polanski films tbh. Not a patch on Rosemary's Baby, possibly the greatest film of all time!
And Kingdom? The TV series? Yeah that was dark!Open Controls-
True, Fearless... Loving it! But Rosemary's Baby is top notch as well, thanks for reminding me, haven't seen it in a while. Still waiting for Repulsion to be published on BR. Still, Polanski...
Kingdom the tv series: dark indeed.Open Controls
-
-
-
-
I enjoyed The Idiots and Antichrist!
Open Controls-
If you liked those, check out Dancer in the Dark. If you don't shed a tear during that, you're not human!
But don't let that put you off. It's an amazing film. And all the better if you're a fan of Bjork.Open Controls-
I've seen Dancer in the Dark, it was shown on Film4 a year or two back. Really good, Bjork blew me away with her performance. Have you seen a film called Dogtooth? If not, check that out! Nice Brice Campbell/Evil Dead grav too 😉 I'm a big fan of both!
Open Controls-
Yeah I think I have seen Dogtooth. Is that the one with the guy who keeps his family without the grounds of his house?
Haha yeah, gotta have love for the Evil Dead films! Shame the recent one wasn't so great, but tbh I never hold out any hope for modern remakes.Open Controls-
Yeah that sounds about right. Their family keeps them ignorant and warps their perception of the world, it's an odd quirky little film.
Love the Evil Dead films, The Evil Dead was one of the first films I watched at 4 years old, along with The Thing and Alien! I didn't mind the remake, but it was painfully mediocre. If they had named it something else, it probably would've been better received.Open Controls

Are we forgetting Steve Rash?
Directed American Pie Presents Band Camp (a straight to DVD spin off), Road Trip: Beer Pong amongst others.Open Controls-
Yes. At least some of us are trying to. 😉
Open Controls

Whoever directed Zoolander.
And Tarkovsky of courseOpen Controls -
Bela Tarr, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Haneke, Mike Leigh, others depending on the mood (Antonioni, Hong-San soo, Dardenne brothers etc)

Chester Coleman Demi
Huddlestone Mata Nasri Eriksen
Aguero Suarez Rooney

B) Coleman & Eriksen > Evra & A.Johnson (-4)
C) Coleman & Delph > Evans/Smalling & A.Johnson (-4)Open Controls -
Would you take any more hits to this? Already done a -4.
Mannone
Evra Zabaleta Chester
Mata Nasri AJ Ramsey
Suarez Rooney Aguero

WE had him already, who are you getting him for ?
Open Controls-
-
I can see Liverpool running riots in the next two, how big of a piece Gerrard will get off that, thats the question. any other option ?
Open Controls-
-
Well, Mata has DGW. the fact that I have Mata and not Gerrard in my team says I would prefer Mata this GW. If you can handle the price fluctuations, i'd wait till the presser. if not, you have a decision in your hand, but I would go for Mata tbh
Open Controls

Nope.
Open Controls -
Get him as soon as possible RonH 🙂 . He's a magician 😎
Open Controls

Evening fellow fantasy footballers...
Protecting a 20 point lead for some nice £££, any advice would be nice
So going into this game week, my current team is as follows with 0.0 in the bank and 1 FT
Mannone
Bardsley - Chester - Flanagan
Ramsey - Eriksen - Gerrard - Nasri
Suarez - Aguero - Rooney (C)
I was thinking of doing Coleman & Gerrard ---> Demechellis/Jones & Mata
or
Coleman & Gerrard ----> Cheapie and YayaOpen Controls -
Any haxball room set up? Or am I too late?
Open Controls -
a) How essential is Yaya?
b) would you dump one of Cahill or Suarez to fund it
Suarez to Wickham for GW37 then Rooney to Suarez for GW38 is mighty temptingOpen Controls-
Very
NoOpen Controls-
only other way I can do it is to sell Mata or Nasri
Open Controls
-
-
Good question.
Yes.Open Controls -
I'm doing those exact moves, but then again I'm chasing so have to do something different
Open Controls -
good question....
is YAYA much more essential this week than say MATA??Open Controls
-
-
Mannone*
Cahill - Azpi - Kolarov*
Mata* - Yaya* - Eriksen - Ramsey
Suarez - Aguero* - Rooney*
-8
Weak, I know, but it has most of the big names. Thoughts?Open Controls -
Rooney straight swap for Suarez anyone? I have wickham and Sergio so have no others route in for him!!
Open Controls -
hands up if you think you're not getting Yaya in even though you can afford him? (especially if Silva will play vs Everton)
Open Controls-
Why do you think silva makes a difference, he scores with or without him
Open Controls-
I'm too lazy but I would be interested to see Yaya's input when Nasri, Silva and Aguero are all fit and on the pitch. I would imagine that while he would still have some of his marauding runs, they would be fewer and farther in between.
Open Controls-
Villa have collapsed so can see them taking a few goals of them, just need to hope their penalties come in last 20 min when aguero subbed

Open Controls-
Coppola probably, I was just interested to see the spread of tastes
Open Controls-
He is actually the director of my all time film.

"Youth without Youth" I wager

You lose! 😉
Open Controls

Apocalypse Now?
Open Controls-
That be the one. My greatest movie experience. Ever.
Open Controls

One of the few questions in life I can answer with no hesitation 😉
Open Controls

So glad Madrid thrashed Bayern, because it shut up those stupid Munchen fans who felt the need to whistle every time Madrid was on the ball. That's just annoying. Almost as bad as the vuvuzelas, which came so close to ruining the last World Cup.
Open Controls-
-
It's F'in crude whoever and wherever it's done. Just not very becoming in the least.
Open Controls

-
Any truth in the rumours about Ramsey being rested in the next game?
Open Controls-
Those seem like silly rumors, unless he is injured again.
Open Controls
-
-
so how much of a hit are you all looking at? I'm looking at a -8 but not ruling out a -4 or -12 depending on what my rival does (as his team is not set up very well for the DGW)
Open Controls -
Hey lads!
Quick question
Should i play next round
a) Baker (2games)
b) Baines
?Open Controls-

Keep up at the back, there! 😉

My Safari browser has become kind of buggy, need to reinstall it I think.
Is there no more 'proper' way of uninstalling than just dump in in the recycle bin from 'Programs' ?
(Kind of a Mac newbie)Open Controls-
Download Chrome and be done with it mate. Best browser around.
Open Controls-
I actually like Safari better

Fair enough.

Thanks for all the help guys, fixed it now 🙂
