We all accept that England have no chance of winning the World Cup, so why take past failures? We should take the players of the future and let them get experience. They may even surprise a few

To be fair to him, if he dropped a load of previous failures and anything went wrong you'd have the same old "I can't believe he didn't take *insert fat arse waste of space name here* with him, cost us the match, Hodgson out" brigade out and about.

yeah but you also end up with the stupid situation of managers like Robson saying Gazza was too young..and daft as a brush. He was one of the best players in the world at that moment in time.

Is that true? England could plausibly claim to have been the world's best up until about 1950.

I'm Irish so can't say 'we' but I couldn't agree more, saying that I am looking fwd to seeing Gerrard getting shown up for what he is again but for the sake of your team they should go with the youth and give them the experience they need, having a relatively experienced young squad in 2016/18 would be massive.

It's like if you buy a car with a loan from the bank, saying you'll use the car as collateral. They don't let you do that of course because that's stupid, but if you know the right banks you can do that to buy football clubs.
