    Aguero, Rooney and Ramsey ---> Dzeko, RVP and Hazard? -8

    Am leading my ML by 14 points.

    Time for an end of season punt, current team:

    Shezz
    Kos, Azpi, Evra, Chester, Collins
    Ramsey, Eriksen, Yaya, Mata, Nasri
    Suarez, Aguero, Rooney

    Thoughts on this for -12

    Chester -> Baines
    Ramsey -> Sterling
    Rooney -> VP
    Suarez -> Ade

    Getting a Liverpool attacker is a given this week, but is anyone thinking of a punt on a Chelsea, Spurs or an Arsenal attacker?

    Great fixtures on paper but what will the line-ups look like? Will Kane, Eriksen and Ade start? Who will play for Chelsea? Will Wenger blood some young players and rest the stars ahead of the FA Cup? I think nobody is safe from those 3 teams and since a Liverpool attacker will be our FT, it's not worth risking a hit for someone who won't play.

      I think the Spurs players are pretty safe, Sherwood will want to make a statement to try and keep his job hence me bringing in Eriksen. Wenger will definitely rest key players but we have no way of knowing which will be rested and which will play. As for Chelsea, Mourinho could do anything so I'm avoiding!

      Not if you get your captain right, a midfielder who maybe gets 2 goals and a cheeky assist could potentially take you above him. Granted you'll probably need Suarez to blank (assuming he'll captain him)

        Yep I'll need a massive differential and I'll need to get my (C) right.. Think I'll have to abandon Suarez but I don't trust Sturridge so if I want a Liverpool attacker it would have to be Gerrard/Sterling/Coutinho.. Not sure if any of them can bridge the gap so I might have to look elsewhere.. Stoke players interest me but I don't trust any to produce a massive haul..

              They won't do that. If they had surrounded Messi with 7 players in earlier encounters, they would have lost all their matches against Barcelona. Simeone is wiser than that. They know how to deal with Messi. It's only stupid to waste many players on him.

            Messi never scores in really big matches. Well, yeah, in Classicos, but he has played tons of UCL semis and finals, and has only ever once scored against two teams in them: ManU and Real Madrid. 4 goals combined, not awful, but seen that he has played gazillion of them and three of them came the same single season when they played Real Madrid in semis and won ManU in the final, and that was the season of Barcelona's super-dominance over the world, when they were at their absolute top. Other than that, never any goals ever. Just saying that his history doesn't really warrant the idea of him turning to score a hat trick when it really matters. Rather he scores that hat trick against Elche, and is all mute when Atletico comes to Camp Nou to win their La Liga title.

        It's also in Atletico's hands, dude. All it takes from them is to win Malaga at home and get a draw at Camp Nou. Seen their recent encounters, I think this is more likely scenario than Barcelona winning two.

          Hmm yeah you have a point.. I think Barca will win GW37, so it will come down to the Barca v Atletico game.

          Lets see how Malaga do first πŸ˜€

      Gee... I had already counted them out for this season and thought that Atletico can seal the victory by winning Malaga at home, but yeah, you're right, Barcelona can still steal the victory. In fact, Atletico can still finish third if they screw it up against Malaga.

      here's hoping they win Malaga and Barca drops points at Elche. Okay, last part unlikely, and in fact, the sweetest thing would be if they assured beating Real this round against Malaga, and then sealed the title by beating Barcelona at Camp Nou. And then won the CL too. And then they should be really bad winners, rubbing those victories all over Barca and Real now that they once got their chance to do so.

          I mean, if Atletico wins, the players, staff and officials should literally piss all over Barcelona and Real Madrid as long as they're champions. They won't get many chances to do it and have been the taking part for so long time. Now it's the time.

      It's bit unfair to say they have had a terrible season. They have had a lousy spring, sure, but they had an immense autumn season before it. It's all the length of the season that matters, people too easily only remember last couple of matches.

    Silver lining in the dark cloud that was this DGW: I won in PlayOn.

    Lousy thing is that it was mighty small money. I won more by bets on individual matches.

    Which reminds me: Breadbin, if you're lurking around, I ended up using one of your tips, Newcastle to win and over 2.5 goals. So thanks for that. But I would have lost it all had I taken your other tips as well. Funny thing: it gave the best return of your tips and was the only one of them that went right. I did that plus my own tip of playing Palace-Pool draw. Both went quite late, so gave me some nervous time, which is nice as they ended up rewarding me well. Much better than this bloody crap of a FPL season.

    How much of a points gap is too much is at this stage? Im 24 behind. Does that warrant a captain punt or could differentials such as Hazard, Eriksen, Dzeko, Puncheon, Koscielny pull it off on their own?

      depends on how many different players you have from your rivals - if its something like 5 or less you need a captain punt. if its more than 5 you dont.
      and no - cahil VS ivan does not count as different players.

                        and ffs, I was all set for a great spring, I had a fantastic team and was rising up like a rocket, all my rivals feared me, and then... couple of very unfortunate incidents and my season went down the drain.

                        I blame all on cancelling of City and Everton matches in GW 26 or 27 or what was it again, I was the only one in my ML with full three City players and couple of big time Everton ones too back then, them being all fit too that time. Instead of a great haul I saw the biggest red arrow of all my season, and when they actually played that match, everybody had 3 from City.

                        Later that just accumulated with my general injury crisis, my City players getting injured, replaced them with other ones, again injured, in fact half my team getting injured during 2-3 weeks time, with 2 fit defenders who were pretty nailed on starters dropping to bench.

                        And so, my wonderful team suddenly had just 5-6 playable players.

                        I'm going to moan about this still weeks after the season is over. hopefully can forget it during the summer. Awful FPL spring for me.

          Yeah, but you only have to go for first 11 now. So, the priority is: Roo and Kün out, someone who you think will score tons in. You can turn this positive: these injuries may push you to buy the top performers of last GW, while he is content to stick with his troops that might not give good returns this time.

      Think you've got it right! Ade, Giroud and Eto'o (?) also have great fixtures.

    what to do with wickham?

    a) start him
    b) bench him (have a midfield of yaya nasri mata ramsey sterling)
    c) sell him for dzeko or sturridge

          Because I don't think its worth a hit to take him out of the squad and he's playing against a loose enough Swansea side..

      What's your team like? I'm starting him (probably selling Ramsey and Aguero).
      A or B (depends on Ramsey is fit)

        mannone, adrian
        cahill azpi smalling williams chester
        yaya nasri mata ramsey sterling
        suarez aguero wickham

        with a good amount of money in the bank. could do something like kun + wickham > dzeko + sturridge (-4). not really sure what to do though... πŸ˜•

          We're sort of in the same boat with no Dzeko/Sturridge and the same forwards. Kun + Wickham out for Dzeko and Sturridge looks great. I will probably end up selling Ramsey rather then Wickham (unless Wenger confirms Ramsey will start).
