With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Next up is Spencer.

Krul – Foster
Luis – Coloccini – Wisdom – Ward – Cameron
Mata – Sigurdsson – Eriksen – de Jong – Albrighton
Rooney – Costa – Sturridge

Nothing in the bank.

He is aware that at the back he is relying heavily on clean sheets at Newcastle and West Brom. Any advice on improving his back-line would be appreciated. Also, is he right to opt for the expensive Daniel Sturridge? Will a lack of Arsenal cover come back to bite him?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

    De gea
    Debuchy/Cahill/Caulker
    Sanchez/Mata/Eriksen/Siggy
    Rooney/Costa/Bojan

    Krul/Wisdom/Albrighton/Cameron

    Any suggestions :);(

Turn Krul into a 4.0 and Cahill into Luis then you'll have the funds for Ramsey in place of Eriksen

As toon army said, I would turn Krul into a 4.0, and upgrade one of the bench players you think will usually come in, maybe Cameron to Pieters, Huth or Ward?

Also, Albrighton might be ripe for a price fall with an ownership so high, Wayama or El Ahmadi seem better picks to me, even if they will only ever get you 2 pts, they will probably not loose value.

I'm going for a balanced squad with plenty of options to maximize favorable fixtures.

    DDG, Gilks
    Luis, Huth, Naylor, Caulker, Mariappa
    Ramsey, Fab, Mata, Siggy, Snoddy
    Rooney, Costa, Bojan

    3 rotations-
    Huth-Naylor
    Caulker-Mariappa
    2 off Siggy-Bojan-Snoddy
    Cheers for the feedback!

also y can sold Snoddy and replace him with cheapest midfielder. with the money you can improve forwards line.

Barkley's returns last season had most suggesting he wasn't worth his price. He's even more expensive this season! Saying that, if he keeps improving quickly he could be the new Ramsey.

    Hey guys,

Currently my team stants like this:

    Begovic (Gilks)
    Chambers Jones Cahill (Chester Wisdom)
    Eriksen Fabregas Sanchez Mata Sigurdsson
    Rooney Jovetic (Naismith)

I'm struggling with a few question. The rest of the team is pretty nailed on, I just can't decide who of the midfield and attackers will score more in the first few GWs.

Would you change this team to any of the following options?

    A) 3-4-3 formation with Wayama and Giroud in for Eriksen and Naismith
    B) 3-5-2 formation with Diego Costa, Henderson and Bojan in for Fabregas Jovetic and Nasimith

Which team would you consider stronger?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Now I like your front 8 including Naismith who ended last season looking vastly improved. Obviously the other 7 are likely starters. Jones and Cahill are likely to play each week so leaves 1 more spot between the other 3 so reckon u have enough cover

So, im preatty happy just not sure if playing with one striker is good (expect goals from midfield tho)

    Begovic/
    F.Luis/Kolarov/P.Jones/Kompany/
    Ozil/Ramsey/Sigurdsson/Eriksen/Hazard
    Rooney/F
    subs; Myhill/N.Taylor/Barnes/Fletcher

Subs are not that good and im not sure about Begovic/Lorris but since Begovic has easy start i chose him, and also i have doubts in Sigurdsson/Wilshere/Henderson/Matic even maybe Ward-prowse as he would give me 1m.

The closer we get to GW1 Kick off the more bloody trades I make! Currently feeling a little bench heavy at the moment, not sure whether the cash is better spent out on the field.

    Beg (Myhill)
Evans - Ward - VAN (Wisdom - Collo)
Hazard - Mata - Eriksen - Arny (Sig)
    Roony - Costa - Austin

+1.0m which i could use to updrage Arny to Tadic.
+X.Xm If I down grade collocini, siggy OR Austin.

Much can be done and its doing my head in. Advice please (Ryan lel)

I wouldn't worry about having cash on the bench. Its still invested in your side and it frees you up to make downgrades and quickly latch onto early budget bandwagons (of which there will be many).

Anyway I have a few thoughts on your team

Defence - Solid as, really can't fault it, well done

Mid - Siggy and Arny are becoming a little more dodgy of late, Arny didn't start the last pre-season game so there is a slight concern there. Also Siggy has been playing on the wing which is also a problem, might be better to wait till after GW4 and Bony is sold.

Att - Seems alright, Austin is a risk obviously but he does seem like the main goal scorer of QPR, my main concern is whether QPR are capable of scoring enough goals. Serious doubt there I think.

        You're a legend Ryan.

I feel I'll take the punt and bring in Tadic to replace Arny and my 1.0m. As for Austin + Siggy, this will leave me with 12.0m to play with. Would it be more advisable spending up on mid for 3 5 2 or using it up forward for someone other than Austin, I feel Austin will the Gayle of 2014/15 (Who gave me a couple of cheeky point last season, but I don't want to start one with someone like that tbh)

Did you just suggest tripling up on the West Brom defence? 😀
I think Luis is a safe bet but Mariappa is a concern.
I've got Hoilett in as a stopgap and will be replaced by the best budget option in the first 5/6 GWs.

Luis - Slight risk, personally I think Mourinho will start with last seasons proven performers to begin with, Luis to be eased in. Gut call though really.

Mariappa - Didn't start the last pre-season game, it seems young Williams is certain competition, talk of Pulis being after a new LB as well.

Hoilett - Not sure he's nailed, if 'Arry persists with the 3-4-1-2 formation I can't see Hoilett lasting long up front, he's really a winger and going on recent warm up games seems uncomfortable up front. Probably still worth a punt though provided you have few risks.

Rest of the team seems fine, I'd be a little concerned about Siggy being used on the wing, personally I'm going to wait till after GW4 when the fixtures get better and the transfer window is closed (where hopefully Bony is sold and Siggy can get the #10 role behind Gomis).

Wisdom mightn't be safe in the long term but with those 3 defenders you don't have to worry.
Get rid of Ibe for someone who'll start.

      Good keepers.
3 cheap defenders needs sorting because they're not 100% nailed on. Cameron isn't going to start apparently.
I believe there's better options than Herrera in the price range. If you want another United mid then do Arny and Herrera to Mata and a 4.5m.
Good forwards, I really like the Wickham punt.
Man City coverage can come later.

Thanks man. Swapped out Cameron for PVA but not sure about the Mata switch. As the team stands I can play 5 in midfield. If I drop Arny for a 4.5 I'll need to play Wickham over that player. Can't think of a nailed on 4.5 mid with Albrighton out.

Downgrade Krul to a £4m keeper because you'll never play him when you own DDG. Cameron and Wisdom aren't too safe in the long term so I'd recommend replacing them. Maybe Cameron to Pieters with the 0.5m.
Albrighton is doubtful on the FPL page so watch out this week to see if he is fit.
The rest is template FFS and good to go.

      Good keepers.
If you're worried about Chelsea defenders then just buy Cahill or Terry for 6.5m who are by far the safest. Duff is 36 so he mightn't play every game. Wisdom isn't safe long term also.
Front 8 is great although you may have a benching dilemma each week.

OK keeper. Prefer De Gea at that price.

Get a Chelsea defender for Koscielny because Arsenal have bad fixtures. Downgrade the defence slightly and upgrade the forwards because Remy and Zamora aren't the greatest of choices.

Ozil isn't going to start the first game according to Wenger so replace him with another £9m mid.

Dzeko is a great choice because Aguero isn't back the first few weeks and City always score.

Cameron - Not nailed with Bardsley likely to start
Wisdom - Only temporarily nailed till Gamboa gets match fit
Cahill - Slight risk of rotation, probably be ok though if the rest of your defence is solid
Caulker - Not worth it IMO but I understand his goal scoring appeal
Albrighton - When Knockaert returns he will have competition
Bojan - A bit punty but could be alright.

No, I stand by my points. You will need a solid bench, don't neglect it or dismiss it as unimportant. The most important thing is that your whole squad are starters and nailed on. Any more than 1 or 2 risks is a too much uncertainty for my liking.

If the teams get off too a flying start and score plenty of goals you might be okay but if they dont start or score many goals then you could be missing out on potential points from elsewhere. Maybe looking into Man City and Spurs players could be an option. But overall strong attacking team, Maybe missing a good defender or 2 for my liking 🙂

    Krul | Elliot
Cahill | Terry | Shaw (Hutton | Wisdom)
Alexis | Mata | Lamela | Siggy (Albrighton)

Dicey keeper combo, but look at that defence! Davis over Albrighton wouldn't be bad, but unfortunately, having 3 big defenders can really dent other areas of the team. Maybe look for two good rotating defenders to work with 2 big defenders. I'd choose to drop Terry so that you can have 2 solid 4.5 options. Alexis to Rambo would be good, then you have the chance to upgrade Bojan to a more solid forward, unless you're happy rotating.

I like how you have made some different choices though 🙂

        Thanks.

Keepers are ok. Rotating just leads to remorse when the away keeper you've benched earns 10 pts.

I don't feel that compromised with three big defenders. It just means playing 2 of Siggy, Snoddy & Bojan each week, and 2/3 of their fixtures are ok up until GW13. By that time the world will be a totally different place, so essentially no worries on fixtures.

Plus not having to spend transfers in defence is gold at the start of the season.

      Hey Arvin.

I personally don't get the DDG love in many teams. The top scoring keeper never plays for a big team, the save points and bonus see to that. Oh hang on, Man Utd are not a top team. I get it now 🙂

You know you need nailed on 4.5 defenders, as you allude to. Especially if you are going with 2 x 4m.

I think you need to spend a little more at the back to have a well rounded team.

Does my midfield make up for the light attack?

Why Mignolet? Liverpool were not sound at the back last year and he's not a cheap option.

You need more up front. Two strikers from teams that will score, plus a cheapo. So perhaps downgrade the keeper and perhaps Alexis can become Silva to free up the cash for a striker.

Safest option would be to get hazard/costa in, asap:)
