With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Next up is Spencer.

Krul – Foster
Luis – Coloccini – Wisdom – Ward – Cameron
Mata – Sigurdsson – Eriksen – de Jong – Albrighton
Rooney – Costa – Sturridge

Nothing in the bank.

He is aware that at the back he is relying heavily on clean sheets at Newcastle and West Brom. Any advice on improving his back-line would be appreciated. Also, is he right to opt for the expensive Daniel Sturridge? Will a lack of Arsenal cover come back to bite him?

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

I'd say Walker and Vert. But I'm only guessing.

I think only Walker and Vert. Looks very likely that they will be bringing in a new CB to partner Vert.

personally, i think those milfs are a bit too premium.

Snoddy, Siggy and Arno represent excellent value and one of those could bring home similar returns to the likes of Eriksen and Rambo over those opening fixtures.

would give you the money to build a tight defence or upgrade Bojan too

I think I know the answer, but do I need to downgrade Hazard for good of my defense?

    Bego - Gilks

    Hutton - Evans - Taylor - PVA - Moore

    Hazard - Ramsey - Eriksen - Siggy - Mata

    Bojan - Rooney - Costa

    A) Hazard > Fab, Evans > Terry
    B) Hazard > Fab, Taylor > Clyne, PVA > (5.0m)

I reckon you can get away with that defense for a few weeks, but then strengthen as the picture at Chelsea gets clearer (see my RMT below). Also, I wouldn't do b) as both are nailed on and rotate well (I also fancy PVA to be a good pick).. I would do Haz to Fab and Moore to Ward or Clyne

Ha I like that you actually have a strategy/ endgame. My thoughts consisted of *ooo nice shiny attacking players*.

My only reluctance lies in having neither Hazard or Sanchez - I'd hate to have Fab + Ramsey and then see them sitting back and dictating play from the halfway line...

I was mooting Adebayor in earlier picks - do you think he'll be guaranteed under Pochettino? I have nightmares of Soldado having a terrific second season...

I think this sounds like a solid strategy. The only issue with it is that Chelsea have great fixtures at the beginning so you could miss out on solid returns.

      Is Adebayor nailed now?

Otherwise, love the mids and forwards. Snoddy was nailed for me until a few weeks ago, I'm now Arno with a slight chance of siggy getting in. Kinda want Snoddy though - maybe its everyone on here pushing me toward a template.

        Cheers.

It is a shame their fixtures are so good at the start but it is a long season. I am counteracting the lack of defenders by going heavy Chelsea attack for those fixtures.

Not sure about Adebayor. He may well become Dzeko.

I had been going with Siggy but Swansea's poor from and Siggy being stuck on the wing is a concern.

Keep an eye on Sanchez today. If he's not on fire, i'd downgrade to Fabregas/Ramsay/Silva for a few weeks to get someone like siggy or arno (or Dzeko)

That way you'll only have to field one attacking shitter 😀

Boruc and Clyne is overkill. Plus isn't Boruc on way out.

Huddlestone, ElM and Berahino are all too punty. I am not even sure Berahino starts. There are other good fwd options in the 5/5.5 category.

Not balanced enough for me, plus Cameron and Boruc are huge risks. You really need to downgrade Sanchez to Ramsey and raise 1.0 from defence IMO and go from there. Personally, I don't like your cheap mid/forward picks either.

If you want to keep the same basic shape I would looking to replace Elmo, Berahino and Hudd with the he likes of Davis, Snodd, Arnie, Marney, Fletcher or Jelavic.

      brave man with that lot.

My concerns would be your third striker/huddlestone and defence.

You've gone for double saints (who are somewhat an unknown entity with all the changes).

Ward is far too good to bench when you have the hud starting. I'd play him and downgrade Clyne to 4.0 bench fodder.

How much is El Mohammedy? if more than 4.5 i'd downgrade him too. Reinvest that extra cash on Hud or Bera.

Did have cheaper but upgraded defenders in the teams I wanted.
Stoke, villa, swa, sot and west ham worked with at least 3 good games each GW for ages.
(Ars in GW 19 is first top 4 game, could argue TOT in GW 1 and 10 but all these are home games...)

Past years probably put to much in defence and then didnt have enough in Attack.

That's fair play mate, either is a good shout. My argument for Taylor would be that now B.Davies is gone he is our only left back. We have a bit of cover with Tiendalli but he will never be a rotation option. The only way Taylor would be benched or displaced is if we bring in a new left back. But Williams is a definite nailed on, good player and always wants to play so both are all good.

It can work but the thing that ultimately concerns me is that you are benching a decent player every week. Over the season you need to put your money on the pitch not on the bench.

I would be particularly wary of a three way rotation but less concerned about at cheap 2 way - e.g Fletcher / Davis.

    need to choose between defenders

Shaw vs Vertonghen vs Azpil vs Koscielny

    I'm thinking of

    1) Vertonghen
    2) Shaw
    3) Koscielny
    4) Azpil

    Rank your favourites!

Azpil > Shaw? Any reason for that? The only reason I can think of is that Azpil is probably more assured starts.. Fixtures aren't as favourable though

Morning all - what do you all think to this potential beauty. ★

    - Howard (Gilks)
    - Terry / Lovren / Debuchy (Caulker, Wisdom)
    - Fabregas / Sanchez / Mata / Sigurdsson (Marney)
    - Costa / Lukaku / Bojan

Bojan being an excellent choice for his string of games through the opener of the season. Thoughts? Sigurdsson as the 6m mid option I was left with, picked him over Henderson - can't really see anyone else taking a better spot, or can I?

Don't think Lovren is a good pick. Liverpool were terrible defensively last year and no signs to suggest that will improve as of yet. I'd switch for a United defender or get someone like Ward in and try to get Fab > Haz or Lukaku > Rooney

Maybe this will make a change then, the mighty Lovren at the back. Had good consistency at Southampton points-wise and will be more then likely topping that this season (I think).

    Krul

    Ward - Caulker - Pieters
    Mata - Ramsey - Hazard - Henderson
    Rooney - Costa - Dzeko

    Myhill - Chester - Wisdom - Isgrove

Thoughts? I had B. Davies but took out for Pieters with concerns over rotation. Henderson will likely swap for Siggy after GW1.

Isgrove apparently played all their pre-season games so is a punt but could well be starting.

thanks for replying to the others.

      looks good.

+ No United/Chelsea defence might hurt
+ Hendo isn't my favourite 4th mid, and has tough opening games.

      Otherwise, very nice team

Thanks for replying. Plan is to keep Hendo for opening fixture (where I think Liverpool could kill it) and then swap for Siggy after he's got over United away. Relies on no injuries etc. elsewhere but could work.

Don't see the point in 5.5 on Shawcross. Why not bring in Debuchy/Evans etc. for that price? Could also downgrade to a different Stoke defender or Ward/Caulker and use that to improve your 3rd defender or get another 9.0 mid in.

Definitely prefer the 1st draft. Dzeko is a much better pick than Bojan, F.Luis is very expensive for someone that isn't 100% nailed and personally I'm not sold on Eriksen after pre-season.

I'd go for option A) but keep an eye on alternatives to B. Davies because of rotation (I've had to take him out for Pieters.
