The Rate My Team Discussion

With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Nothing in the bank.

He is aware that at the back he is relying heavily on clean sheets at Newcastle and West Brom. Any advice on improving his back-line would be appreciated. Also, is he right to opt for the expensive Daniel Sturridge? Will a lack of Arsenal cover come back to bite him?

    Any Feedback would be great.

    Cameron, Shaw, Wisdom (Bruce, Moore)
    Eriksen, Sanchez, Hazard, Mata (Albrighton)
    Rooney, Costa, Long

    Swapping in Pelle for Long in GW2, only reason I didn't start with him is due to tough fixture, Long could bag a few goals vs QPR. Still not 100% sure about my defence, especially Wisdom. Feel pretty happy with Midfield and Forwards.

      Your defence needs work.
      Take long out also.
      Might need to downgrade Sanchez to Rambo to beef up that defence.

    RMT out of 10 please.

    Debuchy - Ward - Evans - Chester - Moore
    Mata - Sigurdsson - Hazard - Sanchez - James
    Rooney - Bojan - Diego Costa

    Planning to line up 3-4-3 with the occasional rotation depending on fixtures.

    Any advice would be much appreciated.

        I really like the look of PVA, but can't afford him. That front 7 looks too tempting to me to change!

      Wanyama isn't nailed on - i'm a Saints fan, and we have so many midfielders, that none of us know who will start there; we're pretty sure that Koeman will play 4-3-3(ish).

    Swansea 0-3 Villarreal, I was still so confident with the stoke/Swansea rotation until I saw this result... Moreover, Bartley was replaced by Amat on 60th minutes in that game. It seems that Monk has some other planning. Oh my 4.0 defenders!

    I want Arnautovic instead of Adam so need to find 0.5 mil. I have gone for Lamela over Eriksen due to recent form and positioning. Will Murray be rotated?

      I think I would go for Giroud and Albrighton although I really like Sigurdsson. Pellé is to much of a gamble and Lambert probably won't start most games.

    Back line issues:

    A) Evans - Naylor - PVA - Moore - Hutton

    B) Clyne - Ward - Naylor - Moore - Hutton

    C) Clyne - Naylor - PVA - (4.5m) - Hutton

    Essentially my dilemma is is better to have 2 (4.0m) defenders who are likely to start and spend money elsewhere, or spread and try and guarantee starts.

    Oh wise folk of FFS, enlighten me.

      8/10

      I don't like Myhill even though he is 4 mil. Wisdom will not start as Gamboa has joined and Moore is also a risk. I don't like Albrighton either so I would downgrade Sanchez to Ramsey and spend the money on Myhill to Foster or a 4.5 mil keeper and upgrade one of Wisdom or Moore to Van Aanholt. Then Albrighton to S.Davis or something like that.

        Not really the price that bothers me it's how he's playing currently I've read but not seen his performances are sluggish and poor. He is the focal point of Chelsea but I don't want to spend 10m when I could get other cheaper better options
