As always on a Monday afternoon, we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess the players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Arsenal
Mathieu Debuchy was forced off with an ankle injury in Saturday lunchtime’s draw with City. Arsene Wenger is set to address the press later today amid fears the Frenchman could be sidelined for months.

Burnley
The Clarets’ forward Danny Ings was subbed off with a hamstring problem in the weekend draw at Palace, while Matty Taylor missed out altogether due to injury, allowing George Boyd to make his debut on the left of midfield.

Chelsea
Didier Drogba missed the Blues’ home win over Swansea after injuring an ankle during training.

Crystal Palace
Neil Warnock confirmed Joe Ledley sustained a hip injury in the Palace dugout and was unable to take to the field against Burnley. The Palace boss also revealed Wilfried Zaha was lucky to make the match after picking up an ankle injury in training.

Everton
Sylvain Distin missed the Toffees’ win at West Brom due to a dead leg, though Roberto Martinez confirmed earlier today that the defender is on course to feature against Wolfsburg in the Europa League on Thursday.

Leicester
Foxes number one Kasper Schmeichel missed Saturday’s win at Stoke after sustaining a minor knee problem on international duty with Denmark.

Stoke
The Potters’ left-back Erik Pieters was forced off with an unspecified injury in the latter stages of Saturday’s home loss to Leicester.

Swansea
Jordi Amat is set for knee scans after picking up a problem in the weekend loss to Chelsea – the defender left Stamford Brigde with his leg in a brace.

Tottenham
Jan Vertonghen was omitted from the weekend trip to Sunderland after picking up a minor muscle injury.

West Brom
Stephane Sessegnon was ruled out of the weekend home loss to Everton after sustaining an eye injury in training.

I don't understand the people that say "I will wildcard in GW so and so".

Why would you want to set a fixed date for your WC? For me, it depends on the current team. There is no way I'd be able to predict or say when I want to use my WC.

    Anyone feel the same?

Exactly. I just wait for a week where my team is unbelievably shit.

Which happens to be this week.

Then I don't blame you! But those that plan to use it GW8 for example, who knows how their team looks then.

To an extent I agree. But I also see a degree of planning to a wildcard. International breaks were always good for building team value. These usually came round about gw3 and gw8. So you would have to decide if you were building a team for a 3 week sprint or a mid term.

There is also those who will earmark a certain gw when a couple of teams fixtures take a turn for the better or worse.

Personally, I have always used it before gw10 in seasons gone past. Thinking about holding this year, depending on how my team shapes up. Reasons being for playing it early I'm past seasons, building tv, form players usually been season keepers, examples Ramsey and Yaya last season. The game has changed this year with so many options, where you miss one haul, plenty of other big hitters who can match them.

With Baines you have to sacrifice a big-hitter in MF. And I'm not sure that it is Baines time just yet considering Everton have conceded 10 goals already and his hauls are typically few and far between.

So, I have this team in a 10 person draft fantasy league. Squad size is 16 people. And I've absolutely killed it with my draft picks followed by some crazy wheeling and dealing.

    Anyway, here's the team:

    Forster - Adrian
Vertonghen - Toby Alderwerald - Pieters - PvA - Rafael
    Fabregas - Eriksen - Sterling - Yaya - Siggy - Walcott
    Rooney - Balotelli - Adebayor

Had Debuchy and Jones but decided to drop them after the injuries. Hurt my defense pretty bad. I'm tempted of making a Balo + Siggy offer for Aguero - would you do that in my place?

I've no idea how Diame, Ramirez and Ben Arfa will fit into this Hull side. I rate Diame highly but will Bruce drop Livermoore or Huddlestone?

Surely. Diame is class. The attackers though, I've no idea.

They bought too many players. Without Europa it was not needed.

Brucie got on one Deadline Day apparently. Went full on muppet mode sipping the whiskey.

They needed creativity in the side only Cardiff Palace and Norwich scored fewer than the 38 they managed last season and especially with Long moving on and Snodgrass injured long term. The presumption is Ramirez and Ben Arfa are fighting for the same spot behind the strikers but he might change formation. They have Hudd, Livermore, Meyler, Quinn and Diame fighting over 2 spots in the middle so 5 into 2 isn't that bad for a premier league side with injuries and suspensions over the course of the season

    GK

    Ivanovic - Moreno - N.Taylor - Bertrand - Duff

Hazard - Ramsey - Sterling - Di Maria - Sigurdsson

    Costa - Welbeck - Naismith

I have Begovic now but i'm switching with Schmeichel or McCarthy if he becomes a starter; that way i'll be able to bring Ivanovic in next GW. Looks solid, right?

Naismith is the first bencher, i rotate him with Sigurdsson.

I still have to decide. Sigurdsson plays against Saints(good defence) but he blanked against Chelsea and i'm not sure he'll blank against Saints too...i have more faith in him than in Naismith.

Kind of at a loss at what to do this week. Team is:

    Bego 4.0

    Ivanovic Naylor Wilson Moore Dummett

    Fab Sterling Ramsey Siggy Marney

    Costa Rooney Welbeck

£1.8m in the bank to play with.

Was originally planning a Dummett -> Bertrand move, but this could wait til next week (i wouldnt play him away at swans). Need to shift Dummett at some point given he isn't playing.

Alternatively, i like Manquillo at pool for the fixtures over the next few weeks.

    Other potential options:

Ramsey -> Sanchez (who i thought looked fantastic at the weekend)
Rooney -> Falcao (kinda depends on what LVG decides to do with RVP)
    4.0 -> a better keeper

    hmmmm .... decisions decisions

I'd save my transfer or replace Dummett...you could get other injuries at any point and then find it difficult to do that transfer

My Chambers -> Dummett transfer 2 weeks ago has only provided grief. Will aim to save for now and bring in bert next week.

I'd get Duff but Michael Keane clouds the issue

I'll ask Saint Steve-O next time he's on

Duff has been brilliant and Keane is only on loan until January. The worries over that move are overstated, sadly.
