Our Friday lunchtime regular is served up once again, as we analyse the PlayON player price list ahead of tomorrow’s 10.45am deadline. As usual, we offer a couple of picks per position, with an essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

This week PlayON have a £1,000 Guaranteed Pot on offer for the full Gameweek. In addition, there is a £250 Guaranteed pot for each of their daily games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday – View the Guaranteed Pots Here.

Goalkeeper – Vito Mannone
We’re keeping faith in the Italian once again, after he vindicated our pick last week with six saves and a clean sheet in the Black Cats’ draw at Burnley. Sunderland entertain Swansea at the Stadium of Light tomorrow afternoon and after a promising start to the season, the Swans failed to score at home against Southampton in the previous round – at 7.9m, Mannone looks a strong option, given that save points are worth 200 points in the PlayON scoring matrix. West Brom’s Ben Foster is another stopper to consider at just 7.6m. The Baggies host a Burnley side who are yet to score since Scott Arfield’s goal in their opening match of the season against Chelsea and, with Joleon Lescott now fully fit, seems to have stepped up in resilience.

Defender – Ryan Bertrand
The Southampton defence has been solid so far this season, keeping a trio of clean sheets and conceding just three times, fewer than any other team in the league. The Saints welcome QPR to St Mary’s and the left-back looks a strong shout for points at both ends of the pitch – Bertrand has one assist so far and comes in at just 7.5m, compared to team-mate Nathaniel Clyne’s 8.9m. Chelsea’s home clash with Villa also looks a strong source of defensive points. Gary Cahill (8.1m) has played every minute so far for the west London team and the Blues’ centre-half will pose an aerial threat in the box against a visitors’ defence likely to be without skipper Ron Vlaar once again. Paul Lambert’s side may have picked up the points at Anfield but the league leaders are a different proposition altogether and with just four goals scored, the midlands outfit could struggle to breach Jose Mourinho’s backline.

Midfielder – Victor Moses
The Nigerian has quickly established himself on the Stoke left flank, having started each of the last three matches since arriving on loan from Chelsea. Moses served up an assist in last weekend’s draw at QPR and could be a bargain for 8.3m as the Potters entertain out-of-sorts face a Newcastle at the Britannia this weekend. Andre Schurrle may have had relatively limited pitch time so far but – as evidenced by last week’s draw at Man City – he’s more than capable of delivering the points as a substitute. Perhaps a little risky at 9.5m, the German’s eye for goal has already seen him notch twice – more than any Chelsea midfielder in a free-scoring side that has already notched 16 times in the first five Gameweeks.

Forward – Robin Van Persie
In previous seasons it would have been unthinkable to label Van Persie as a left-field pick. Although United’s defence looks best left alone in terms of Fantasy investment, Louis van Gaal’s side have picked up in the final third and scored seven times in two matches since moving to a midfield diamond. There’s no Van Persie has had a slow start to the campaign but. After scoring his first goal of the campaign last weekend, is starting to rediscover his form and, at 10.5m in the PlayON Player Price List, is cheaper than t Wayne Rooney (12.0m) as a route into the Red Devils’ attack. Southampton’s Graziano Pelle has an excellent fixture against QPR this week. The Italian has hit some form with three goals and an assist in his last three and, priced at 11.2m, will be confident of maintaining the run against a backline that has conceded four times in each of their two away matches so far.

Head over to www.playon.co and get picking ahead of the 10.45am deadline tomorrow morning.

Obviously you know it's a risk, but taken in isolation there's no reason he can't score well. It's when you compare his potential to the other options. You're either gonna rise plenty or fall plenty.

I have a 1 FT with 2.0m ITB, and I'm somewhat reticent to use it. Little help?

    Foster
    Bertrand, Moreno, Moore
    Sterling, Sigurdsson, Fabregas, Ramsey
    Rooney, Pelle, Costa (c)

    Krul; Wanyama, Chambers, Chester

    - Would like to do Rooney to Aguero, either this week or next, but there are other things I could spend the transfer on too (Ramsey, Chester, Krul)

    Thanks in advance!

Would personally like to keep Moreno, his fixtures are promising, he's there more for the attacking threat and he was my way out of Terry only a couple of weeks ago. Long term I would have to agree with you and consider him a transfer out though.

could upgrade to Azpil, Chelsi gotta tighten up at some point, just seen you have Foster. Pool defence is gash, cleanies few and far between, especially with CL games as well

It's true, but I ran from Chelsea to Liverpool, would seem strange to go back. I think Chelsea will definitely tighten up, as you say, but it may be more of a Christmas thing (as with last year, top teams have often followed that formula).

Can't argue with your assessment of Liverpool's defence, but I do enjoy Moreno's forrays forward. Thanks for the input my man.

Oh for sure. Probably one of the few games (coincidentally another being Arsenal v Tottenham, tomorrow also) that I forget about FPL and just enjoy two teams going at each other.

Hope everyone has seen this story about Jonjo

    http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/harrys-hero-1966425.aspx#ty1MIRSJcxqkJYFK.01

I remember when I was a little kid, we were asked to write a story about who we'd invite for dinner to meet our family and what we'd eat.

I spent the evening entertaining Mike Tyson, who'd clearly taken a break from knocking MF's the F out to have some nice Yorkshire puddings 😆

Who did you dream of meeting at that age?

Not for a hit. North London derbies often end in high scoring affairs (you know, barring that 1-0 last season...). But I think if you take a hit you are gambling on Hazard getting at least an assist and a bonus more than Eriksen, if Eriksen gets points you may well be onto a loser points wise.

    3. Sess!
      • 15 Years
      11 years, 5 months ago

Not sure it's worth a hit, although (tin hat on) I do think Hazard is about to bring home the FPL points. Last season he did nothing first 6 games and then went on a great run. The signs are there that's about to happen again.

To me it means he will play deep, but no necessarily bad news. He's not scored in the PL yet anyway, his points come from threaded balls through, and he can do that from anywhere on the pitch. If anything, ala Lampard, he may be more effective at that from a deeper role.

Yeah set pieces def in tadic's favour, looking at this game and his previous FPL scores, I think tadic might be a bit too unselfish. Often looks for the pass when he could shoot himself. Tadic is constanly linking things up from what I've seen though. Very similar to how silva plays.

This is true. Think mane/tadic could win a few too with their dribbles in the box.

If Mangala starts tomorrow then the message seems fairly clear from Pell that he is first choice and that Demi will now be the one offering the odd rest to the other two CB's as it would be three games in a week for Mangala. ...Anybody agree with that statement ?

So far this season Aston Villa has, as per tradition, played very tight and good away from home (1-0 against both Liverpool and Stoke), while playing worse and more open at home. I won't be surprised if Chelsea score 3-4 goals against them, but I will also not be surprised if Chelsea score 0 or 1 goals

It's not really Costa you have to stop when playing Chelsea, it's his assisters. Without good service it's not much Costa can do, he is similar to van Persie in that respect..
