I beg to differ. I took hits on Davis>Tadic/Bojan>Naismith and Mata>fab/Coutinho>Siggy and both of those were very successful for me, points wise and financially

Personally think I will just bench Ramsey next week and switch Rooney > Aguero after UCL midweek...

    Krul?!
    ShawX Clyne Caulker Duff
    Fabregas Sterling Siggy
    Costa(C) Rooney?! Pelle

    Elliot - Ramsey?! Wisdom Marney

    1 FT, 1.9m ITB

    Thoughts?

Lesser people would WC in my situation, I fear...

We have the same money banked. A little room to play with but not much. Tempted to bring Kun in now.
And I'm most likely selling Ramsey, don't want him sitting on the bench losing cash and I haven't got anyone else good enough to sub in

U can afford losing a wee bit in price drops...if that doesnt matter to you then waiting may be best. Especially if any more injuries occure before the next premierleague gameweek.

    Lloris (Gilks)
    Cahill Clyne Williams (Chester) (Dummett)
    Ramsey Sterling Hazard Siggy (Cattermole)
    Costa Rooney Naismith
    0.3 ITB, 2 FTS

    2. Hyperion
      • 14 Years

Since Downing has much more capacity to actually score points, I think Downing is worth the extra. I'd rotate him with Siggy based on fixtures.

      1. NATSTER
        • 15 Years
        11 years, 5 months ago

Just checked. Bad news is ... they are not rotating well.

        1. Hyperion
          • 14 Years
          11 years, 5 months ago

Then just bench the one whose form is looking worst at that time. Besides the rotation isn't THAT bad long term. I like to always have the potential to get points off my bench personally, e.g. benched Chadli's points today, no regrets. I am likely to favour him over Siggy in a 50/50 decision now though.

    Rooney > Kun... done.

    Reasoning:
    - I've still got a FT leftover
    - I'm happy to play any of my bench this week if someone gets injured (Duff + Boyd (lei), Clyne (tot))
    - IMO, Rooney will drop atleast 0.2 this week and Kun may rise
    - Im unsure WHEN these price changes will take place, so doing the transfer now means I'm safe if they change price tonight.

I'd love to do it now, to avoid drop/catch rises... but only have 1 FT, and would have to play Wisdom away at Liverpool if Kun got injured midweek...

Yes, basically you are buying insurance against injury, but each week its costing 0.1 or so maybe more. It mounts up quickly and the odd 4pt hit is not worth the 2-3m extra you will get.

        Expensive insurance

Anyone worried about Sterling not starting next weekend? He played 120 minutes on Tuesday, 90 minutes today, has a CL game on Wednesday and only 2 days rest until game on Saturday. It's a LOT to ask to play him every game . Concerned? You should be.

He hasn't scored big points yet .... If Costa didn't play he would end up with more goals, that's the problem

Having a shocking season so far. Any advice on how to improve on this team. Obviously Rooney will have to go, but anyone else?

The team doesn't look that bad but I'm sliding down leagues. Too much point chasing I guess. Benching Taylor didn't help...

    Foster
    Clyne - Rojo - Wilson
Di Maria - Fabregas - Sterling - Sigurdsson
    Rooney - Naismith - Costa

    Krul - Taylor - Duff - Zaha

Foster and Fabianski for a rotation or too many points in Gk's? Perhaps 1 and Mannone? If so which 1 would you pick?

Not really sold on Tadic. Need to see him explode before picking him. 4s and 5s for 7.5m is probably not enough.

To do Rooney to Aguero, I also need to do JWP to Boyd and Chester to Moore.
Do it now or wait until after the games tomorrow? (Duff and Foster to play)

Or just do Rooney to Pelle (but still need to solve my JWP and Chester problems sometime)?

8 points sounds excessive, but this is why aguero is a problematic player to bring in be ause of his price

Will that be for -8 points? If so I wouldn't do it.

      1. Diva

It would be for -8. I don't like it but I'm .1 short of doing it for -4 and it clears up my JWP and Chester problems. Like pulling off a bandaid, it'll hurt briefly but I'll soon feel better and won't have the lingering pain of watching JWP and Chester drop.

Downing and Chadli keep popping up in stats, and compare pretty well against other notable players. What are people's thoughts on either as a rotation option in midfield?

I like chadly for his price, I think he will produce at least the same as other non elite options. Under 8 mil

The Merseyside Derby featured two of the most overrated managers around today. The transfer mismanagement and tactical gaffs from both this season have been staggering.

    1. Kostja

Tough for them considering what funds all other big clubs have available. And only true fail seems to be Markovic.

I don't know. Jury still out on quite a bit of Pool's business. And Balotelli is a proper disaster.

Martinez playing Lukaku out wide is just mind boggling.

He played wide because he thought he could dominate Moreno like he did against Monreal. Monreal isn't half the player Moreno is though

He's only 20. People will judge him against the price tag but he needs time.

Sterling also looked poor prior to December last season remember.

You specifically mentioned "transfer mismanagement", and if say on that basis LVG would be at the top of the list simply for not buying a competent CB that you were clearly screaming out for this summer more than anything else.

He hasn't exactly been a tactical mastermind in his 6 games so far either

      • 11 Years

Honestly, not trying to wind you up or anything, but I'd add LVG to that list too.
