Granville’s lackadaisical approach to the new campaign might just explain why he’s treading water. Missing deadlines and price rises, my ScoutCast co-host badly needs to introduce some organisation into his season if he’s to keep pace – the man needs a PA – get your applications in.

With Granville floundering, I’ve decided to lay down my Wildcard to potential rub further salt into his wounds. Is it a chronic case of “jerky knee”? Granville certainly thinks (hopes) so.

We chat over my Wildcard revolution, analyse how the heavy-hitting midfielders are failing to pull their weight and rinse through the usual regulars in the same disorganised fashion.

Minute this meeting via this link or set your own agenda via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Didn't think I'd say this before the start of the season but kind of wish I could have four Soton players (Clyne, Bertrand, Tadic, Pelle). Currently on my WC, which one is most expendable?

Tadic. Their full backs are epic, and Tadic seems to be that magic player who doesn't produce points.

Two for Tadic, 2 for Bertrand, 1 for Clyne. Pretty inconclusive bar the fact that nobody sees Pelle as the weak link. Thanks chaps, I'll have a long ponder on this one!

    OOP..not really but they are..

Jeez..a bit late this week after my week away but time for my weekly look at those mids playing beyond the forward for their respective teams (avg position). They're a bit thin on the ground this week as were the pts compared to previous weeks..interesting nonetheless though.

    Dyer 2pts
    Siggy 3 pts
    Tadic 5pts
    Cabella 2pts
    ADM 2 pts
    Puncheon 6pts
    Bolasie 3pts

Once again the Swansea mids play higher than their forward, Gomis on this occassion. No pts for Dyer and Siggy but they continue to assume the position as they have for most of the season.

Tadic yet again playing very high and actually = with Pelle in his position this week.

ADM is the furthest forward of all the Man United players this week and appears on this list for the first time.

Bolasie once again on the list but now joined by Puncheon and looks like they are getting higher up the pitch by the week..and regular pts for both now building up
    http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comparison-tool/

Subs of note reasonable minutes Sanchez (again) McGeady and Nolan

Seems RM is always keen to have a wide advanced player. Mirallas often does it but even Lukaku is played out wide for the odd match...Everton, Swansea and Palace seem to be the ones who doing it on a regular basis as a plan.

My defence is just about OK

      Clyne - quality
Chester - may get a recall this weekend
      PVA - decent
Colo - OK, he is not great
      Wisdom - good budget option

    Another Alan Brazil gaffe

And two years ago, the day after actor John Thaw died, he commented: "I was sad to hear yesterday about the death of Inspector Morse, TV's John Shaw."

"John Thaw, Alan" his co-host corrected him.

"Do you know, I've been doing that all morning. John, if you're listening, sorry mate," Brazil replied.

      Another one

Talking recently to TV critic Garry Bushell about the previous evening's BBC gala tribute to the late Bob Monkhouse, Brazil asked: "Garry, how was Bob's health last night?".

Yeah, when they play all the names Brazil gets wrong that week!

Which makes this comment by him all the more ironic

When discussing women who commentate on the game during his breakfast show on talkSPORT radio, former Ipswich Town striker Brazil said: "It makes me cringe when they get players' names wrong."

AT my Aunt Ann's funeral a few years back, Paddy the village idiot (harmless and more than a little slow on the uptake) was walking with us behind the hearse on the way to the graveyard,
He turns to my Dad and says,

Scousers have been rubbish recently, and the Baggies have been quite tight. Sturridge unlikely to be back which means Mario "made of wood" Ballotelli will once again be leading the line. Got low scoring written all over it.

Costa and Kun far better options than Sterling imo

Worked fine for me. 😀 Brave to put the WC out there... although I did enjoy the Siggy bluff/double bluff to keep Granville on his toes. 😉

Hi guys. I'm torn between benching Naismith, Siggy or Mane this week. All have their merits up against either leaky defences or just purring with form. Advice please?

      • 12 Years
      11 years, 4 months ago

Tempted to say Mane. Between him and Naismith.

Tend to agree but my heart says that Mane is really going to bandwagon in the next few gameweeks and Spurs will not be a hindrance. My head says Naismith will be influential against a porous MU defence and Siggy is not in good form but is up against possibly one of the worst premier defences in Newcastle so he ought to score! This is tough.

I'd definitely play Sigs. And I'd bench Mane, simply because he's not at 100% match fitness and Spurs are the best opponents of the three.

Thanks guys - At the moment I'm thinking of benching Naismith - I have a gut feeling about Mane

Im having a hard time deciding which player im going to bench this week..
thinking of starting chadli instead of fab since he might be deployed a bit deeper, hence less point IMO.
so my starting lineup will look like this.
Krul | Wilson Clyne Moore | Di Maria (VC) Sterling (C) Chadli Siggy | Pelle Costa Welbeck
Bench : De Gea | Fab Ivan Wisdom | Im good to go right?

Cheers to you two. Im going to start Ivan over Clyne. But Im going to stick with my decision and bench Fab and DDG. Hope it wont come back and bite me in the ass by the end of the week. lol. Finger crossed.

Don't start Lost, it's the show that never ends. Season 1, 2, and the beginning of season 3 of prison break are awesome but I wouldn't go further than that.

I just had a look at some KPI's for midfielders, comparing numbers to last season.

Anyone want to guess what Mark Noble, Marko Arnautovic, and Jack "the ginger pirlo" Colback have in common?

I'd wait, internationals mean price rises will be slower and there is guaranteed injuries on international duty e.g Sturridge last time out

If you're thinking about Baines I would do it on Saturday. Loads of people are gonna buy him so you miss his price rise during the break otherwise

Yup, Baines for sure (due to set pieces). But Ivan has been going forward like a proper striker this season. and i can see his hunger for goals. Hmmm..

What's the opinion on Fabregas playing a blinder against Arsenal because they thought they could do without him?

Cant see it, I see him sitting with Matic like he did V City

Not convinced by this. In fact I reckon Jose may drop Oscar to the bench and play Fab in the hole for the first part of the game then bring Oscar on around 60 mins and shift Fab back to sit with Matic - by which time he will have done the damage maybe!

2 free transfers next week.. looking at this: Naismith > Welbeck then week after Rafael + Siggy > Baines + Boyd to leave me with this

    Mannone Krul
    Ivan Baines Chambers Wisdom Duff
    Fab ADM Sterling Schneiderlin Boyd
    Costa Dzeko Welbeck

slightly less template than most teams on here?
