In this week’s attempt to get the better of Paddy, we call upon Arsenal’s big-money signing to deliver the goods against Hull later today. We also place our faith in a couple of old Fantasy favourites who seems to be rediscovering the form of seasons gone by.

Arsenal’s home clash with Hull brings Alexis Sanchez onto this week’s radar. With the Gunners’ hit hard by injuries, their summer signing from Barcelona could prove the difference against Steve Bruce’s dodgy defence – Sanchez has scored in two of his last three league starts and with Paddy offering 3/1 on Sanchez to score and Arsenal to keep out their opponents, we’re willing to make this our bet of the week and fork out £4 on this one.

Out next stop is at the Etihad, where champions City entertain Tottenham in the Gameweek’s earl kick-off. Veteran midfielder Frank Lampard has looked reborn in recent weeks, racking up four goals and two assists in just six appearances across all competitions for Manuel Pellegrini’s side. With Yaya Toure arriving late back from international duties, there’s the possibility that Lampard could start this one – even if he’s benched, though, it’s worth noting that Lampard has scored as a sub in two of the last three Gameweeks and has the knack of punishing tiring defences. Paddy are prepared to offer 6/1 on Lampard to score and City to keep a clean sheet and we’re willing to shell out £3 for the Etihad encounter.

Our final flutter of Gameweek 8 sees us switch our attentions to Tyneside. Paddy are offering 25/1 on Papiss Cisse to score at least twice and the Magpies to register a clean sheet – given that the Newcastle striker has bagged a brace in two of his three appearances, he’ll fancy his chances against a Foxes defence that have shipped at least two goals in five of the opening seven fixtures.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Thanks both for the input. I have no qualms about doubling up, esp with Saints defence and with two players with attackng threat as well.

That's also a valid point, thanks.

I'm gonna take the punt. 2/3 of my 20 man money league capt. Costa. I'm gonna explore the dif. Who will score for Villa? Benteke is a 2nd half sub (maybe that does it).

    Krul

    Janmaat- Baines - Clyne

Downing - DiMaria- Sigurdsson - Fabregas

    Costa - Pelle - Welbeck

Chambers, Kompany, Clyne, Wisdom, F luis
    Lallana, Hendo, Sterling, Sigurdsson, Albrighton

Costa is in discomfort/pain every game from his hammy. He just plays through it. Mou has gotta try to protect him from himself and make sure he doesn't tear it. "Pulling up" in training would just mean more pain than usual. It's the same old injury though

It's legit. I know what Jose says is always to be taken with a punch of salt but I've read quotes from Costa about it. He said it's uncomfortable/painful every match and that he mentally blocks it out because if he worries about it then he won't play 100%. Kun has struggled mentally with the same thing but he's not the guv'nor like costa

OS. Couldn't sleep last night, chucked on Hagler v Leonard. What heart sugar had. It all went to script until round 11 when Hagler was done tenderising his meat and ready to eat and sugar's like na fuk all you doubters, I'm old, I'm rusty, I'm tired, I'm being punished by a bigger, stronger, relentless lion, I'll just flick this switch and go all superman on his ass 😀
Love it. Funny everyone time I watch that fight with years in-between I score it the same. Sugar by 2

Don't make em like that anymore unfortunately. I thought Leaonard won as well, although a lot of critics reckoned Hagler was robbed,

Have you read "Four Kings?" Really good account of the fights between Hearns, Leonard, Hagler and Duran.

The golden generation. Epic wars between all four of them. All four of them had as much ticker as talent too.

Tbh the only critic that I've heard that truly believes that is Hagler himself. The way he took the loss was a real shame, a black mark against him for me.

I have not but sounds like something I would love. I'll track it down. Cheers 🙂

Quite amazing. Very decent boxer as well. If his chin had been a bit sturdier, he could have been the best out of the four. My favourite is still Leonard though, a true artist.

Yeah Ray was my fave too. Though Hearns' fights were always the most exciting. You are right when he used his reach and boxed smart he was top shelf. I love that he could never box like that for more than a few rounds though. As soon as he copped a couple good ones he'd see red and start brawling. Couldn't help himself lol

If ever there is a chance of theme getting rested it will be this weekend. Otherwise they risk burning him out. I see a 25 minute cameo only if things aren't going to plan.
