After taking a look at those clubs with kind upcoming schedules yesterday evening, we turn our attentions to those with some tough fixtures to follow. Trouble could be brewing for the Tyne-Wear duo, whilst the Saints’ recent rise to prominence is set to be put to the test.

Sunderland

“frisking

Unbeaten in their last three, the Black Cats will need to retain that recent resilience to navigate a tricky fixture list. Gus Poyet’s side entertain Chelsea, Man City and West Ham in the next four – the three highest scoring away sides in the league so far.

With a trip to Liverpool also to consider in the next four, the Wearsiders will surely remain off Fantasy radars for now. At the back, Costel Pantilimon has earned 14 points in three starts since taking over from Vito Mannone and will at least offer save point potential, whilst Steven Fletcher faces a tough task to continue the form which has brought four goals and an assist in his last six appearances.

Stoke

“frisking

Last weekend’s home defeat to Burnley is hardly ideal preparation for what’s to follow. With his injury-hit defence conceding in each of the last six and key winger Victor Moses out for up to eight weeks, Mark Hughes has his work cut out to steer Stoke up the table over the next few matches.

The Potters will be looking for Bojan to maintain the form that has earned him a goal, assist and four bonus points in the last two matches, but with showdowns against Liverpool, Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton in the next six Gameweeks alone, Hughes is afforded little reason for festive cheer right now.

Newcastle

“frisking

The league’s form side have now won five on the spin and collected four clean sheets over that period but whether they can prevail over an evil fixture schedule is perhaps debatable.

Alan Pardew’s side travel to West Ham, Arsenal and United in the next six, and with Chelsea paying visit, in addition to a derby showdown with Sunderland, it leaves only a Gameweek 14 trip to Burnley looking full of promise. Budget option Paul Dummett and raiding right-back Daryl Janmaat may struggle to serve up the defensive returns, whilst further up the field, the cut-price duo Moussa Sissoko and Ayoze Perez could have their current form curtailed.

Also Be Wary Of…

Southampton
Sitting second in the table after 13 rounds of fixtures, Ronald Koeman’s side now present us with the classic case of form against fixtures. A defence that has conceded a single goal in their last five now squares up to City, Arsenal, United and Everton in the next five – Nathaniel Clyne and Ryan Bertrand are amongst the four most popular defenders in the Fantasy Premier League game but their owners may find returns slowing over this period, with many looking for a way out. The erratic Dusan Tadic, with eight blanks in 12 appearances, and the off-form Graziano Pelle – without a shot on target in the last four and just one booking shy of a ban – may well be set for an exodus as the returns dry up.

Hull
The short-term schedule is unrelenting on Steve Bruce’s out-of-sorts side, with Hull travelling to United, Everton and Chelsea in the next four Gameweeks. With just one goal and a single point to their name over the last four, the Tigers will need to dig deep to get anything from those matches – Bruce will be hoping the fit-again pair Nikica Jelavic and Michael Dawson can make a difference at both ends of the pitch but the KC pickings look slim to none right now.

Crystal Palace
Victories against the likes of Everton and Liverpool show that, on their day, Neil Warnock’s side can mix it with the best of them. Palace will need to carry on from the form that swept aside the Reds last Sunday, though, as they now face trips to Swansea, Spurs and City, in addition to the visit of Southampton over the next six. Home encounters with Villa and Stoke still look promising for key man Yannick Bolasie, whilst Mile Jedinak’s dead-ball duties continue to keep the Eagles skipper in contention as a valid budget option.

With lots of flags this could be a big decision to get right , ( will probably end up using both ) but in the event of only 1 being needed could be important , who 1st sub ? And predictions for Burnley Villa ?
    Boyd or Hutton ?

That's what I'm thinking , I have Chadli and Baines flagged wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if they missed out and that finished 0-0

Depends on rest of team , I wouldn't sell Baines unless I had Ivan, Chadli might be different if his out and you can afford Siggy then he will make up for the hit over next 2 games

Palace hull go very well for GW14-19 i think. Cheap combo = bolasie & diame... Uber cheap combo = brady & jedi. HBA might als be a consideration from hull. The rotating fixs are below

WBR AVL SWA STO LEI SOU

I have tadic & moses so tempted to downgrade both to take advan of that fix list.

    3. Jay_

Best cheapie route would but not mid would be Kane , with Aguero Costa , Sanchez Hazard AdM Siggy and someone like Bolasie, finding a cheap 5th mid that rotates well with Kane would be good and switch 3-5-2 to 3-4-3

      1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
        • 16 Years

If you have aguero & costa, i'd much rather have fab than hazard (1.0 cheaper depending on when you got him) and someone other than sanchez... Because, realistically, you will never be captaining either haz or sanchez with the two boya up front, and having the likes of baines & ivan will generate nice points at the back

Are folks actually selling clyne? I was all set to do tadic & clyne > baines & someone sub 5.8... But now i'm not so sure as i got clyne at 5.0 back at the start & would lose a full 0.4 of TV.

I am not selling. At least he is guaranteed starts. My cheap defensive benchwarmers will get some starts for their best fixtures, with Clyne a competent first sub.

I have 3 flags and want to sell at least one to have 11 fit with 1 sub just in case. So which transfer would you do?

    A) Saylor (red flag) - Dummet
    B) Baines - Terry
    C) Downing - Ox

This is assuming nothing conclusive is said re Baines and downing

    1. Cheeseoid
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Wait for the press conferences. If Baines is fit I wouldn't bother. Of corse Downing is likely to be unfit until January so if you are ditching one he is the one to get rid of. Unless it means you cannot field 3 fit defenders of course.

As a classic strike partnership it would be. RvP was getting in the way, slowing things down and generally ruining everyone's chances of playing at a high level when Falcao was fit in the 352.

Just used the comparison tool between Bony and Costa for the last 6GW's.

    My mind is now opened.

Cool. I think with the injury worries and 3 Saints in your team, selling Costa isn't a good idea. I'm in pretty much the same situation, we might not even get 11 out this week without a couple of transfers so transferring out a nailed on Chelsea striker with great fixtures shouldn't be our priority IMO.

Yeah I know. Just looking at options to get in the players I want. Might end up having to keep the Saints guys though and deal with injuries and Moore instead 🙁

Me too but I'm clutching at straws here a bit. I've 8 players away this week and no stand out captain. Costa doesn't look like scoring more than one in a game and is almost guaranteed a yellow in away games.

Sanchez seems to be the favourite from what I've seen. He's in red hot form but yeah, away fixtures aren't ideal.

Ox is tempting, well, would be if I had a spare .5m

Montero or Dyer be for free and not need a downgrade

Potential is there to downgrade Ivano, but then I would have plenty to skip Montero/Dyer.

Right, last couple of questions before bed:

    1) Either Chamberlain/Chadli and Boyd, or a rotating double act of Bolassie/Diame

    2) Best defender for 5m to go with - currently on Trippier but would consider others (already have 3 swans)

    Thanks deadzoners! 🙂
