The ScoutCast – Episode 145 – Retro

This week’s ScoutCast is a throwback – a return to the days when Granville moaned about his team of red flags and names like Robin van Persie and Yaya Toure dominated our thinking.

Granville and I slip into such subject matter like it’s a pair of old slippers, whilst assessing the Aguero fall-out, the Dzeko option, Ivanovic versus “Dave” Azpi and how I’ve modelled my Fantasy Football management style on Roy Hodgson.

We roll out the regulars and lament the demise of the ScoutCast team – eliminated in the opening round of our own cup competition. Some things never change.

Swim in nostalgia via this link or roll back the years via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Ok just had a thought. Instead of Aguero > Dzeko, I'll get Sakho. Then next week: Obertan > Silva. Good move?

I dont think this is a good move. You would have to remove Sakho as well before GW18. His fixtures get worse.

Westham will do well against Arsenal who cant defend long balls

And Sakho has proven he can score agst bigger teams

Koscielny will be back after Newcastle I think. Also Debuchy is back. Different team when these two will be on the pitch.

I can see why so many are going for Dzeko/Jovetic. But I wonder whether they will actually score the goals against Leicester?

    Yaya Touré(c)?

I can't even talk about this. I've made a lot of dumb captain choices this season.

I nearly had the armband on Costa this week... and then I got to thinking...

I gingerly moved the armband a few days ago. I keep looking at where it is and ask myself, "What are you thinking?"

Then, I think again... and I leave it as is. It's Friday now, and I don't move the armband for anything except an injury at this point... so the deed is done.

But I'm not going to talk about it, I tell ya... I can't... it won't work... it will fail... it will be misery... but it is there... and that is all...

      yet.........

Even if Dezko / Jovetic doesn't score, he is a decent pick for the next 4-5 GWs.

I wouldn't captain any of them this GW though.

    Anyone for Aguero + Boyd -> Lukaku + Mirallas (-4) ?

Can watch city this weekend and get in Dzeko/Silva/Yaya depending on form/minutes/YC.

Or should I just go Aguero + Boyd -> Dzeko + Silva (-4) tonight ?

Tough one. Out of Haz and Baines.
The only ones I would drop for Haz are Boyd or Erikson. If you drop Boyd you could play 3-5-2.

If you want Baines, do Chambers > Baines.

Looking at your team tho you have a good starting 11 so save. Unless you think Haz or Baines will score more.

Maybe not, Ramsey scored against stoke for the first time in 17 games. He might be back to his normal self, but I'd rather have sanchez

Is a defense of Baines, Zab and Azpi too heavy? (Other two are Yun and Dummett)

Too light, upgrade Yun and Dummett.

Would normally say yes but with the Aguero cash floating about understand why you have it. Still would prob prefer 2/3 of them

Out of these, which Man City player would you get?

    Dzeko, Nasri, Silva

    I can't afford Yaya 🙁

have the exact same question and you know, Silva is tempting the hell out of me. Could deliver the same return for less. Is he not due back?
