Our regular Friday lunchtime article comes round once again, as we take a look at the PlayON Player Price List ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. As always, we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON have now extended their deadline for submitting your teams so you can now tinker with your starting XI right up until the first kick-off each week – so tomorrow that’s right up to 15.00.

PlayON has Freeroll games and Guaranteed Pot games running each week for the rest of the season at www.PlayON.co. This week they have £350 in Freerolls and over £2,000 in Guaranteed Pots on offer – to get your free entry into the Freerolls just follow them on Twitter at https://twitter.com/PlayON and like them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/PlayON

Goalkeeper – Costel Pantilimon
Aside from their home defeat against City, Sunderland have been resilient in recent matches and racked up three clean sheets in four, including impressive defensive displays against Chelsea and Liverpool. The Wearsiders host a West Ham side that have been in convincing away form this season and scored at least once in every road trip – the Romanian goalkeeper is therefore a left-field pick but, at only 6.6m, could be worth taking a risk on if funds are required outfield. Tim Howard faces a QPR side that have lost all of their away matches so far, scoring only twice in those seven defeats. At 7.5m, the American is relatively cheap cover for the Toffees defence compared to Leighton Baines (9.5m) and with Charlie Austin suspended, a shut-out looks likely.

Defender – Andre Wisdom
The right-back has nailed down his spot at West Brom and after registering a fifth clean sheet of the season away at Hull last Saturday, the Baggies welcome rivals Aston Villa to the Hawthorns in resilient form. The visitors have scored just two goals in their last six road trips and, at a price of just 6.1m, Wisdom looks a decent budget enabler for our defences. After collecting three consecutive clean sheets, Chelsea unexpectedly conceded twice at Newcastle last week. A home fixture against a Hull side who have scored once in their last four away trips bodes well for the league leaders and, having seen off the threat of Filipe Luis, Cesar Azpilicueta (8.3m) comes into consideration – the versatile defender bagged an assist in the last home match against Spurs.

Midfielder – Yannick Bolasie
Whilst Mile Jedinak has found the net on five occasions for Palace, there’s no doubt the Congo international has been their form player. Despite scoring just once this season, Bolasie has offered plenty of goal threat for Neil Warnock’s side – over the last four Gameweeks, his total of 18 attempts on goal is at least five more than any midfielder in the Premier League. Available for just 7.5m, Bolasie’s attacking thrust down the left could prove the undoing of a visiting Stoke side without a clean sheet in their last nine league outings. Eden Hazard (13.7m) is the essential pick in midfield after scoring in his last four successive home matches. Rested for the midweek Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon, the Belgian will be fully refreshed as Jose Mourinho’s side look to return to winning ways against Hull at Stamford Bridge.

Forward – Edin Dzeko
The City striker is back in Fantasy managers’ thoughts due to Sergio Aguero’s unfortunate knee injury. After a stint on the sidelines, there’s still some doubt over Dzeko’s match sharpness but, having started ahead of Stevan Jovetic against Roma in midweek, he looks poised to retain a spot in Manuel Pellegrini’s XI away to Leicester City. At 11.7m, the Bosnian is comparatively cut-price compared to many of the forwards from top teams – granted, he’s scored in only one of his 11 league appearances and needs to up his consistency but a showdown with the basement-dwellers looks the perfect platform to re-ignite his campaign. Romelu Lukaku has yet to score more than once in a league match this season but the Everton forward has been a solid pick in front of his own fans. The Belgian has scored in each of his last four starts at Goodison and a home clash with a QPR side that have conceded 17 on the road looks tailor-made to continue that run.

Head over to www.PlayON.coand get your teams in for the £350 in Freerolls and £2,000 in guaranteed pots.

Rooney never does well against Liverpool, United are bottom of the league for creating chances the past 2 gameweeks and Rooney are probably one of the worst forwards, stats wise.

Look at the GK situation in isolation. I think Hart will score more than 4 points more than Courtois in the next 5 GW's even if Courtois was fit, so its worth it.

The sentence wasn't the best, but i guess you understood the thought of it? F example going with Krul and Foster. Krul out injured for a month, but you dont need to waste a transfer on the least important position on a FPL team, cause you can play Foster instead.

I think it's well worth it. The previous hits are irrelevant, the worst outcome is probably that you'll drop another 2 points, the best (and more likely) that you'll make up another 2 points. And then you've got a fit Hart in for some super fixtures over the next 4 weeks as opposed to Courtois who may miss more than this week.

Just did aguero -> giroud. LOL. Reasons why:

    1. Focal point of arsenal attack. Can score can assist.
    2. Newcastle has injuries and suspension to key personnel
    3. Likely to see more minutes during the xmas period since he is pretty much the only striker Arsenal has. Yes, there's Welbeck, but would Wenger seriously depend on him to lead the line?
    4. QPR two weeks ahead.
    5. Unconvinced with alternatives. Dzeko is out of form and lacks match fitness, think too early to get him in now. Man Utd's fixtures are not that great and RVP is not that worth it. Rooney doesn't have the threat (few shots in box). Costa is off form, up against a 5 man defence, and with Fabregas the chief creator/main assister out, I am not that optimistic.

Have Hazard and Oscar to cover Chelsea.

Did Chadli -> Yaya to cover Man City too.

2,1,2 last 3 games...is that better than what Dzeko will do?

Admittedly, Giroud is a gamble, so is Dzeko.

But I like Giroud's stats, average of 2 shots in box this season, better than Dzeko's 1.7 or 1.8 (can't rmb which).

Giroud is the focal point and unlikely to be subbed out. Dzeko yes, can be the focal point but unlikely as anyone in Man City can score.

Finally, Giroud has gotten some match practise while Dzeko is just coming back in. Giroud for me, at least for the next 3 weeks. Though if Dzeko does well, he's in.

Yes totally agree. Looking to keep him for maybe 3 games [newcastle (H), pool (A), QPR (H)] and see how, Arsenal's fixtures aren't looking too good after that.

You could basically swap Giroud and Dzeko and he has all the same reasons

Nope not necessary, gonna copy paste the reasons I replied to another commenter above:

"But I like Giroud's stats, average of 2 shots in box this season, better than Dzeko's 1.7 or 1.8 (can't rmb which).

Giroud is the focal point and unlikely to be subbed out. Dzeko yes, can be the focal point but unlikely as anyone in Man City can score. Dzeko can also be subbed out ard the 60-70th minute mark depending on the situation.

Finally, Giroud has gotten some match practise while Dzeko is just coming back in. Giroud for me, at least for the next 3 weeks. Though if Dzeko does well, he's in."

So who's going to start the Chelsea player tracker.....when they hit 5 games in a row you know they'll miss that last game over the holiday period. (If Mourinho isn't telling porkies as usual!)

All but done with this game for this season now. My transfer last night was Schmeichel out for Courtois for a - 4. Otherwise I had no playing keeper. My other keeper being McCarthy. So I decided to upgrade and bring in a Chelsea def in the process.

Then today Courtois is ruled out and Cech is back in.

Bloody hell its a keeper transfer. Courtois has been nailed on all season up to this point. I don't trust the prices and I've been burnt a couple of times on rises and falls. So I just did it yesterday get it out the way. Who saw this coming?

I got Fabianski and Elliot but I haven't bovvered transferring either. Sure, even if my transfer gets 2 points it's only a -2, but what if they concede two? Or more? What if they get sent off? I'm just going for a nice cool 0 'mongst the keepers this week.

Has Ivanovic been attacking much recently? No attacking points since GW3, and I'm considering whether he's a better option than the other Chelsea defenders. Price isn't a worry.
