Both, It's not the first time he's missed a game this season; he also didn't participate against QPR, Tottenham, Stoke and Newcastle. I'd just worry over the festive period. I'd be tempted by Mangala instead if I was going to invest in City defence.
Only problems with managala is his love of yellow cards, too physical at times and gets punished accordingly.
