Granville and I get cosy on a two-seater sofa – within touching distance – just how he likes it.

In truth, my-host is getting too close for comfort: the mini-league gap is down to just 42 points, with Granville relentlessly chiping away at my previously unassailable lead.

We review Gameweek 16’s events, including my oh-so bitter Dzeko pill, before discussing De Gea’s uncanny form, the demise of Leighton Baines and my latest set-to with Jonty: are there better options than Diego Costa up top?

The regulars wrap themselves around that lot, while Granville, thankfully, keeps his hands to himself.

Snuggle up to the noise via this link or get up close and personal via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hey guys,

    Fabianski
    Azpi, bertrand, baines
    downing, hazard, yaya, sanchez
    benteke, austin, rooney

    0.8 ITB 1FT

Thinking of doing bertrand >> cresswell. I want a city defender but there is too much uncertainty around them.

Cresswell will only be a one week punt. Save or transfer?

Kinda fancy Newcastle to keep a cleany at home to Sunderland
Back 4 is settled, Tiote is there, Sissoko is back and Sunderland may have Altidore up front

Williamson may not be a star and the goalie is obviously a novice, but Janmaat, Collocini, Dummett and Tiote is actually a very reasonable defensive unit
They should have gone for Caulker in the summer

Back four is settled? Conceded 4 twice in a row with injured third choice keeper who was gonna be released before they had no choice but to play him. Fletcher was rested last week to keep him for the Derby and Sunlund have scored 3 at the last two SportsDirect.com stadium Derbys.

      😆

There are few things in football I hate more than the phrase "false 9"

      One is "pivot"

Anotheris this sudden thing where teams and managers have a "philosophy"
      Since when are managers philosophers?

False 9 .... When Craig Levein done it, it was 4-6-0 and embarassing
When Del Bosque or Guardiola done it, it was 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 and genius.

Oh right I thought I read something about him being AWOL but just thought he was on holiday or something. I really rated his predicted line ups.

I once met Steve Clarridge outside Stamford Bridge, he was having a go at someone down the phone before but graciously accepted to have a pic with me.

Believe it was home to Valencia in the CL.

          Oh we will 😉

Really fancy Everton for a clean sheet this weekend, particularly if Pellé is out, the spine of the attacking contingent will be watching from the stands, in Pellé, Tadic, Schneiderlin and Wanyama.

Jedinak out for Nasri, Eriksen, Fabregas depends on who you trust.
Other option City or Chelsea defenders.
      Clyne on bench, play Austin.

Midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa has more than likely played his last game for Hull [and potentially in the Premier League] with his loan set to be terminated.

Steve Bruce - "Unfortunately, to play for me you have to know you are playing for the team. To be a great you have to be a team player"

Ben Arfa's future is uncertain with a January move likely and Alan Pardew saying "He won't be coming back here, that's all I can say".

    Such wasted potential.

Interested by replies to my earlier MH370 comment regarding the disappearance.

What do you guys think happened?

My thoughts - it headed into US airspace and had an electrical failure or some sort so was not responding to communications. The US then shot it down. Cover up began.

We'd have found a bloody plane in the ocean, or parts, by now!

See recent news story. French senior pilot suggests this idea.

I'll believe most things over the crap they've said... It's so blatantly rubbish. There was even a sort of fake news story saying they'd found it on the BBC to put it to bed. Eye witness accounts from fishermen have been shushed too.
