Kevin Mirallas misses Everton’s trip to Southampton. Dusan Tadic is ruled out for the Saints, whilst Graziano Pelle is doubtful. Hull’s Michael Dawson is out for up to five weeks, Bojan is back in training for Stoke, Theo Walcott will be assessed ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool, whilst Mario Balotelli is set to serve a one-match ban for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Nacho Monreal, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be assessed tomorrow, according to Arsene Wenger. The latter is set for a late test after failing to train, whilst the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere remain on the sidelines.

Marian Chamakh is ruled out of Palace’s trip to City, though James McCarthy is set to feature despite sustaining a rib problem. Adrian Mariappa and Jonny Williams are back in training and the former could make the squad if he proves his fitness.

Kevin Mirallas is out of Everton’s trip to St Mary’s with an ankle problem but is expected to recover for the festive fixtures, according to Roberto Martinez. James McCarthy, Leon Osman, Darron Gibson and Tony Hibbert are all doubtful for the Toffees.

Alan Hutton, Kieran Richardson and Tom Cleverley are all suspended for Villa’s home clash with United. Paul Lambert is still without the likes of Philippe Senderos and Nathan Baker at the back, whilst Ashley Westwood remains out with a knee injury.

Hull are set to be without Michael Dawson for up to five weeks with a hamstring tear, whilst Tom Huddlestone serves the first of a four-match ban at home to Swansea.

David Nugent is back in training for Leicester after stepping up his recovery from an ankle problem, though the likes of Kasper Schmeichel and Matthew Upson are still unavailable for the trip to West Ham.

Mario Balotelli has been handed a one-match ban by the FA for recent social media posts and will skip Liverpool’s home clash with Arsenal.

Alan Pardew was handed a boost ahead of Newcastle’s derby home encounter with Sunderland, with reports in the local press confirming Jak Alnwick is set to recover from a shoulder injury to take his place between the sticks. Moussa Sissoko is likely to recover from a midweek knock, whilst the Magpies boss also expects Papiss Cisse to recover from illness.

The problems are mounting for Southampton ahead of the weekend home clash with Everton. Ronald Koeman has three players – Morgan Schneiderlin, Victor Wanyama and Florin Gardos – all suspended, whilst Dusan Tadic and Jake Hesketh join Jack Cork on the sidelines through injury. Graziano Pelle and Steven Davis are both doubtful and are set for late fitness tests.

Bojan has returned to training for Stoke after recovering from a hip injury sustained last weekend. Mark Hughes is confident on the Spaniard’s availability for Monday’s visit of Chelsea and also has Marc Muniesa back from injury, though Stephen Ireland (knee) is a doubt.

Chris Brunt has recovered from a hamstring injury and returns for the Baggies’ trip to Loftus Road. Georgios Samaras is sidelined, whilst fellow forward Victor Anichebe is a doubt due to a groin injury.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

    repost...

    Current defence
Caulker (WBA) Clyne (EVE) Baines (sou)

    benched
    Wisdom (qpr) Jagielka (sou)

Based on the Southampton team news, promote Jags and demote Clyne?

    I'm ditching Clyne this week.
Considering to double on City and get Zab (Already have Clichy) or get a Chelsea defender..
City's fixture look amazing but my only and biggest worry is that they wont have Kompany.

Is doubling on City with Zab and Clichy too much?

Very strange week this one with no standout captaincy options.

If you're chasing in your mini league, this is the week to go with an Eriksen, Bony or Austin captain imo as Sanchez, Hazard, Costa etc. Could find it really tough with their respective figures.

Atm I've given Bony the armband, but Austin is very tempting and can see a few goals for him in that game.

With no recongnised striker I think that they may struggle to score. Palace gonna keep it tight.

That of cause could be bollocks however and they could run out 4 nil winners.

Tough one to call. Are city a better force without a striker? I think if it is high scoring the points will be shared across the team. So that is maybe the best reason not to.

I've kept Caulker all these weeks and now he doesn't play when fixtures turn great 😕
What's the story here, is there any chance he'll play this gw?

He has behaved like a pillock, and upset 'Arry.

But, 'Arry does not bear a grudge - he will be back before long.

                Shane Long? Dunno.

But Caulker went out, got pissed, smashed his head, and was concussed.

😆 Best one was a few weeks back when 'Arry said he was showing up to training overweight. The next day some training pictures emerge and Taarabt looked absolutely the exact same as always, not an ounce gained 😀

Though I hate Taarabt as well so I'd definitely be spreading rumours about him being a porker.

Mangala and Dimechelis are nailed on for the next few weeks due to Kompany's injury. Sure, Mangala has four yellows and is a risk, but after two red cards I think he's got tings sussed in English football now and won't be a risk of getting sent off again. Watched Citeh's past few games and he's looking fantastic.

My transfer will be my captain

          Down to Carroll or Rooney

Carroll is pretty much only for this game but can be changed to Giroud next week or allow Boyd to Nasri

Rooney , will play both games , but hoping he will be further forward

I've got a very interesting FF Cup tie coming up this week by the looks of it. Quite similar in terms of represented teams, however there is a decent variance in the personnel involved::

          Adrian vs Foster
          Azpi vs Terry
          Demichelis vs Kompany*
          Fabregas vs Hazard
          RvP vs Rooney
          Kane vs Austin

Who would people place as the favourite? Captain choice could be a huge factor

          Foster / (4.0)

          Baines / Azpi / Dummet (Wisdom/Duff)

Im not so sure around all this talk of the WBA water tight defence making Austin captain a risky choice. Yes they have done well away from home but QPR have scored at least twice in the past 6 home games and they scored twice at home against Man City, Villa, Liverpool and Stoke.

Of course I could be wrong, but I guess this is the week where being wrong on the captain carrys the least amount of risk given the spread of choices.

          Fair comment?

Last year there was this guy called Chewy Suarez. Top goalscorer in the PL & allaround go-to-guy for his teammates. Wanted so badly to move to Barca. Now he's not even guaranteed for the starting 11 anymore. Gets the privilege to pass to Messi for a assist now and then. But he has a bigger chance to win some trophies.

This year we know this guy called Kun Aguero. Currently the top goalscorer in the PL... Real has, Ronaldo... Get my drift?

Kun probably isn't dumb enough to go to RM.
