Kevin Mirallas misses Everton’s trip to Southampton. Dusan Tadic is ruled out for the Saints, whilst Graziano Pelle is doubtful. Hull’s Michael Dawson is out for up to five weeks, Bojan is back in training for Stoke, Theo Walcott will be assessed ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool, whilst Mario Balotelli is set to serve a one-match ban for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Nacho Monreal, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be assessed tomorrow, according to Arsene Wenger. The latter is set for a late test after failing to train, whilst the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere remain on the sidelines.

Marian Chamakh is ruled out of Palace’s trip to City, though James McCarthy is set to feature despite sustaining a rib problem. Adrian Mariappa and Jonny Williams are back in training and the former could make the squad if he proves his fitness.

Kevin Mirallas is out of Everton’s trip to St Mary’s with an ankle problem but is expected to recover for the festive fixtures, according to Roberto Martinez. James McCarthy, Leon Osman, Darron Gibson and Tony Hibbert are all doubtful for the Toffees.

Alan Hutton, Kieran Richardson and Tom Cleverley are all suspended for Villa’s home clash with United. Paul Lambert is still without the likes of Philippe Senderos and Nathan Baker at the back, whilst Ashley Westwood remains out with a knee injury.

Hull are set to be without Michael Dawson for up to five weeks with a hamstring tear, whilst Tom Huddlestone serves the first of a four-match ban at home to Swansea.

David Nugent is back in training for Leicester after stepping up his recovery from an ankle problem, though the likes of Kasper Schmeichel and Matthew Upson are still unavailable for the trip to West Ham.

Mario Balotelli has been handed a one-match ban by the FA for recent social media posts and will skip Liverpool’s home clash with Arsenal.

Alan Pardew was handed a boost ahead of Newcastle’s derby home encounter with Sunderland, with reports in the local press confirming Jak Alnwick is set to recover from a shoulder injury to take his place between the sticks. Moussa Sissoko is likely to recover from a midweek knock, whilst the Magpies boss also expects Papiss Cisse to recover from illness.

The problems are mounting for Southampton ahead of the weekend home clash with Everton. Ronald Koeman has three players – Morgan Schneiderlin, Victor Wanyama and Florin Gardos – all suspended, whilst Dusan Tadic and Jake Hesketh join Jack Cork on the sidelines through injury. Graziano Pelle and Steven Davis are both doubtful and are set for late fitness tests.

Bojan has returned to training for Stoke after recovering from a hip injury sustained last weekend. Mark Hughes is confident on the Spaniard’s availability for Monday’s visit of Chelsea and also has Marc Muniesa back from injury, though Stephen Ireland (knee) is a doubt.

Chris Brunt has recovered from a hamstring injury and returns for the Baggies’ trip to Loftus Road. Georgios Samaras is sidelined, whilst fellow forward Victor Anichebe is a doubt due to a groin injury.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

Hey everyone, need some advise this week.

    Forster
    Terry, N.Taylor, Yun
    Fabregas, Erikson, Miralles, Siggy
    Rooney, Costa, Bony
    Heaton, O'Shea, Boyd, Hutton

    2M in the bank.

Considering taking a 4 point hit and do Miralles > Toure and Costa > Pozo/Austin/Kane? City have some great fixtures coming up and i need cover, would love Yaya to be the only transfer but can only afford him by losing Costa, alternatively i could just do Miralles to Silva/Nasri but not as good as Yaya!

Even with a weakened Soton team I decided to get rid of Everton players. Not impressed by them at all. Could easily backfire but hoping for RVP to explode. Transfers are :

    Baines/Lukaku - Zaba/RVP

    Team is:

    Foster

    Zaba/Terry/Dummet

    Sanchez/Eriksen/Hazard/Siggy

    RVP(C)/Costa/Kane

    What do you think?

Liverpool are a calamity of sh!te these days. That said, Jones is no where better than Mig. Mig isn't a top club talent but is better than Jones. Johnson is one of the worst defenders in the league. LFC need a good CB, and striker. Looks like Liverpool are the same team as when they had Andy Carrol. Only difference now they didn't spend £30 million on Lambert

Actually something I'm relatively passionate about.

Hate seen football being used as a tool for self promoting power junkies. Especially at a European/world body level.

Not so fused about clubs, that's private business.

                11 years, 3 months ago

Absolutely, the whole thing stinks. Private industry corruption is a different story, something for each club to deal with but the overall regulatory body is more corrupt than the lot of them, I agree.

Its hard to see FIFA ever becoming uncorrupt, seriously. Too much money and too much formal power with parties who do not have any serious interest at stake. That will always, always yield corrupt. Why UEFA is much less corrupt, is that the stakes for each party are so huge that they are difficult to buy. Plus, there's a greater transparency in the area where it works. What sucks most about UEFA is that it is a fecking money printing machine in work and no longer a genuine sports organiser.

IOC cleaned their act up.....just took pressure and people chipping away.

FIFA could be great (spreading football around the world, peoples game, all that bollocks) even without being corrupt.

Power hungry fools like Blatter see it as a personal ego inflating junket train...

                11 years, 3 months ago

FIFA could be great without being corrupt, but I cannot see a world where it was not corrupt. It is not a question of few personalities. You can change Blatter and everybody next to him and money will still do its job.

International Olympic Committee is corrupt as well. And will always be. I can't actually believe there's somebody who thinks IOC has cleaned their act up and is not corrupt. IOC is possibly structurally in an even worse situation, because huge power is used by dumb ex-athletes who couldn't make difference between corruption and fair business.

Unfortunately you are correct. It will take an awful lot of time to sort out, as Jaf said it needs people chipping away. Maybe it will never become free from corruption but I would be hopeful that in time they can cut it down a good deal.

You can change the top, it will not change anything. You see, the corruption is already in the national federation and only escalates in the international ones - and I do not know a single national football federation that wasn't occupied by corrupted idiots doing more harm than good to the sport.

I think possibly the next step will be that they release a 'full' (edited) version that has parts taken out 'for Swiss legal reasons'... then Garcia will say "This still isn't close enough to what I wrote and is missing vital information", at which point they are at a stalemate in an ordeal that's been going on for so long that the media starts to lose interest (old news is tough news to sell) and they pretty much just leave it at that.

Maybe I'm just really jaded but organisations as corrupt as Fifa make this sort of process like walking through treacle, they have been playing this game for years, the slimy scum bags!

can't see that either is worth -4. You need a guaranteed clean sheet just to break even

Yeah, I don't like spending points on defenders. It's generally higher risk, lower return

Should I play Yun (WBA) or Naylor (hul)? Or play them both and bench Siggy?

QPR will play without Isla and he is their best player in defence. WBA is very good at away games, so it seems like they will concede.

Hull haven't score so much goals so far and I think Naylor has good chances for CS.

Naylor. Also, if you're considering benching Siggy for a QPR defender I'd get your head examined.

And how about Dzeko to Kane for -4 and bench Siggy?

    Team is currently this:

    Fabianski
    Dummett - Fonte - Chambers
    Fabregas - Hazard - Sigurdsson - Sanchez
    Costa - Sakho - Bony

    Subs: Jakupovic, Colocinni, Wisdom, Boyd

    Considering:

    A) Colocinni > Demichellis and make Sakho captain
    B) Fabregas > Yaya Toure make him Yaya captain

Thoughts? Is it silly bringing in YT with ACN looming? It's just my main FF all have him and I'm worried they'll all make significant ground.

Also worried Sakho is too much a risk...

Who is the best midfielder for the next 5-6 weeks for 9.6m or below? Sterling could be a very nice differential if he gets in good form again.
