Do people really think that playing home/away matters that much? I really think that Austin's home/away splits are more to do with a) playing time (Missed games against Spurs and Everton, was subbed early against Manchester United) b) Opposition (QPR have played 7 bottom half teams at home, NONE on the road) than home comforts...
-
Form over fixtures for me
-
There we differ. All about the fixtures for me. Assuming it's a decent team, don't want any part of Leicester even with nice fixtures...
-
-
Research across a range of sports have shown a big differenve in home and away results.
-
Yes it matters. Playing on the narrow pitch at QPR with the crowd right on top of you can be very difficult for opposing teams. Why do you think almost every team in the league wins more games at home than away?
-
I'm not denying it matters at all. I should have said that. But I think the effect is overstated, and the numbers bear that out: http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/home-field-advantage-english-premier-league/
-
Crucial here is the narrow pitch at QPR. Only one team in the league knows how to play with such restricted space.
-
That's a good point. I still reckon it's more about the players than the pitch though.
-
-
Without looking deeper I suspect this could have other factors that influence it
Such as top 5-6 teams becoming more dominant therefore finding it easier to win away.
I would also suggest you need to look at in terms of the standard of teams, for the top teams it may not be as big a disadvantage playing away as it is for the lower teams-
That's also a good point. Cheers!
-
-
-
-
Because most teams do better away from home?
-
I just think looking at home/away spilts halfway through the season where teams have played unbalanced fixture lists isn't the best way to go about predicting future performance.
-
-
I brought Austin in this week on the basis that he had a good fixture at home..I'm happy 🙂
-
-
So Muppet has brought in Austin and defending his selection now. 😕
A few weeks ago he argued with me that Berahino was a better option than Austin at that point. 😆
Now Berahino is warming the bench and Austin is scoring hattys. 😀
#Vision 😆-
He's too stubborn for his own good. Rage transfers is his cure (apparently)
-
Rage transfer or not it's quite sensible what with one third in the league in scoring and the other playing holding CM.
-
With ADM back and Austin away to Arsenal I'd question your timing and patience.
-
AdM back doesn't help Rooney in the slightest as he'll be playing further forward and shooting every time he gets a sight of goal. And since when is Arsenal a tough fixture for attackers?
-
QPR are rubbish away from home
-
Not with Vargas and Isla fit. They'll score at least one.
-
-
-
-
-
-
He really is a muppet to be honest
-
My rank says my vision is better than yours.
-
Rank only matters after gw 38.
-
Rank fight.
-
It matters every week, leading up to GW38.
-
-
-
-
get giroud in for bony and -4 hit, is it worth?
-
No
-
nope nope nope nope
-
thanks guys
-
-
-
anyone noticed Chester on the watch list is labelled both Vs and VsX?
-
If you had 11.6 to spend for both a defender and midfielder, who would you get?
-
Still have Clyne and Bertrand. Sold Baines weeks ago. 😎
-
hope you played both today?
-
I thought I did. Apparently I left Bertie on the bench though. Ah well.
-
-
I've had other priorities that have prevented me from getting rid of my 3rd Soton player (Bertrand) and thankful for it
-
-
Help

1FT; £0.0m ITB.-
I'd captain Hazard mate. Baines to Zab? Looks great otherwise
-
Nah, West Ham are decent, QPR far from it, especially away from home. And i'd like to keep Baines for this week, might sell Siggy though.
-
Fair enough. Good luck 🙂
-
Thanks pal, how's your UCAS?
-
Got 3 offers already. You?
-
All 5 😎

You're fine. Get rid of Yun or Siggy if one is injured more than a week.
-
😛
-
-
-
FFS Cup, who wins:
A. Dummett, Azpi, Haz, Costa

that guy who just posted on Siggy replacement 😎
-
like it was abvious he need to be replaced lol
-
-
Did anyone watch the QPR game?
Is Yun injured for a good number of weeks? -
Looks like a week for not making a transfer to me.
Carry one then flip on home game & easy fixtures to City, Pool, Villa etc the week after.
But hold for Chelsea, Arsenal, United, Swans etc. for this week.
Maybe go Siggy to Sterling or Silva and one other after boxing day-
yep
-
-
Is Yaya to Silva pointless move? I've never really seen Silva more than 1x assist per game man
-
keep if u have yaya
-
Yeah I got him last week
-
-
Yaya scored. I certainly wouldn't do the sideways transfer.
-
Yes
-
Did you not watch the game? Scored 2! 4 for the season. The lad has goals in him now!
-
Not seen any football today waiting for MOTD but just going of previous games/seasons
-
-
-
Hmm...
Siggy & Baines looking good for the chop, but which is (if any) is the better move?
A1. Siggy & Baines -> Nasri & MCI DEF < £6.1m
A2. Siggy & Baines -> Silva & DEF < £5.5m
B1. Siggy & Baines & Cisse -> Silva & Kane & MCI DEF < £6.1m (-4)
B2. Siggy & Baines & Cisse -> Nasri & Kane & Zabaleta (-4)
C. Siggy & Baines & Dummett -> Silva & Clichy & Saylor (-4)-
A2
-
Cheers.
-
-

How much do people reckon Silva will rise this Game week?

-
-
Bartley owners - who's taken his place?
-
Fernandez
Bartley only played because of Fernandez being injured.-

-
-
I'm hoping he'll get a game over Xmas but I'll wildcard him out later

-
Sounds good
-
thanks jammie
-
-
Soggy home to villa complicate things?
-
too inconsistent. plus Villa tends to close the gap
-
-
-
Not taking a hit this GW will be important considering that players will be rotated.
1FT.
A) Baines -> Zaba
B) Duff -> Steven Taylor
C) Baines, Downing -> O'Shea, Silva -4.
D) Save FT.-
A
-
I also have Clichy.
-
-
save
-
-
help me lads!! My front 8:
Hazza Siggy Sanchez Downing Boyd
Austin Costa Bony
1) Silva for Boyd (to keep bench strong if sanchezz hazard are rested nxt GW) or Silva for siggy
2) Any doubts over Bony as played 15 min only today? -
After scraping through the PpCup last round by fact of rank after a draw, looks like I'm on my way into last 128!!!
🙂-
Played son do it for the Irish.
-
Will do Tony we've both same players to go but I've Costa/haz(c) over him.
🙂
-
-
Congrats HIV
-
Dam autocorrect
-
Hahaha
-
😳
-
-
Where's the draw for pp ?
-
Nice one
-
-
Downing > Sterling madness or genius?
-
utter madness. he will prob blank against chelsea, but his fixtures after aren't bad...arsenal included
-
Considering it myself..
-
-
Its Siggy out or save for me.
A bit of news from Monk would do the trick.-
We got no news this gw, maybe he likes to keep secrets
-
-
Rooney to Giroud FT?
-
Rooney is good to own this time of the year
-
Not when he plays at CDM
-
-
No
-
-
Siggy and Bony rested now, expect a massive haul from them
-
i know...unfortunately Siggy and by extension Swansea are too inconsistent with home/away rotation
-
Siggy was injured
-
-
Sakho > Kane
Yay
Nay-
For money - yes. Points? Not so sure.
-
-
sod it cpt sterling next week haz sanchez could be rested
-
Talk that Sterling could be rested.
-
-
If only I could get my sodding captain right!!! 😡
Still, mustn't complain. 🙂-
Doos.
What do you think about Dummett+Fabregas to Zabaleta+Sterling for -4?-
Not Dummett. Who else? Keep the team balanced.
-
Forster
Dummett Wisdom JT
Alexis Cesc Yaya Hazard
Austin Bony Carroll
McC, Siggy, Hutton, Moore
1FT, 1m.-
Do any of Wisdom, Moore or Hutton work?
-
Moore is 0.1 short. Hutton is possible
-
Do that.

-
Looking the biz are you Hammers. Good for you, Doos.
-
Cheers, mate. 🙂
-
-
-
Considering my front 8:
Sanchez Hazard Eriksen Downing Siggy
Bony Austin Costa
A) Keep the FT
B) Make a transfer (Can I afford it not to have a man u/man city attacker or middfielder?)-
Looks good mate
-
-
if siggy fit he is going to get a massive haul v villa
-
lol. siggy keeper identified
-
Just like RVP, Falcao, Rooney and Mata did? 😉
