Granville and I raise out bats to the grandstand as the 150 comes up for the ScoutCast. Fittingly, we choose to spend the milestone episode moaning about Diego Costa, for very different reasons.

Chelsea’s “agro magnet” dominates discussion on the eve of an expected three-match ban that will end my love affair with the grizzled goal-getter. Meanwhile, Granville is left smarting from Costa’s 16-point Gameweek 22 haul as he does his best to make light of the 59-point chasm that now separates our teams.

Elsewhere, we glide through the ScoutCast regulars, whilst taking time out to lament Kevin Mirallas and his latest bout of Baines-bullying that robbed us both of belated returns.

Count the cost via this link, or pay your dues via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Seeing a lot of love for Falcao but if Utd revert to a 41212 Di Maria is the one most likely to shine.

    Falcao RvP
    Rooney
    Di Maria Valencia
    Carrick

Di Maria will be on set-pieces and assisting that front 3 🙂

Doubt we'll go to the much better diamond. LVG will stick with sh!tty 352.

ADM shoots more per 90 than Falcao anyway too.

Terry Berty and Wisdom isn't that bad of a defence for this weekend at all.

sterling with the potential to get something at home to west ham as well, not as bad as you think.

Hmm...Baird has started the last 4 games for West Brom. Done a decent job as well. Wish Pulis would give us hints on whether he'll play or not.

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 2 months ago

Just too nervy with Pocognoli lurking. Also have seen a fair few comments on Baggie forums saying how crap Baird is in general. Just figured it's not worth a risk to have someone like Baird in the squad given the reliance on our benches we will be having in the upcoming weeks with blanks and the like. It could pay off hugely if he sticks but if not it could be a big problem. I've plumped for Lescott...

32 years old this Baird fellow. Playing at wingback might be demanding for him, especially since he's a central midfielder. Also, he burned me earlier this season.

this. And Pulis is brave enough to even play Berahina at wingback, so it's pretty hard to say that Baird will be nailed on. Pulis need to give us a hint, I know 🙂

Why don't you save 0.4 and get Wisdom instead Walsh? Doubt that you'd play a WBA defender week in, week out. Unless that's your plan so i don;t think it's a bad idea at all.

        1. Walsh
          • 12 Years

Feel like the .4 extra for Lescott and his goal threat is worth it with Wisdom offering nothing whatsoever going forward and minimal bap contributions. Not really strapped for cash either so I'm happy to put the extra up. Also still a tricky thing to me to see how Pulis deals with even Wisdom as he is a loanee. Who knows. Stranger things have happened. Don't want to waste a transfer on my WBA defender for the rest of the year I am hoping it will pay off.

Good if you're that certain with it. I had Wisdom from the start so maybe I'm bias 😉 . Yeah think Lescott will reward your faith. Good luck mate.

    RMWC criticisms

    1) too much Mane
... his stats are not inspiring (going from the PCT in members' area), compared with other budget mid options.

    2) i see MANY midfields that double up on both Arsenal and Chelsea. Even I'm swayed that this is a good approach, but I can't help the feeling that 18 teams are being overlooked (since 5th mids aren't going to impact our GW scores very often)

I understand, but those 4 were nailed on in 2012/13.

... which you can't say about the 2nd Arsenal/Chelsea mids in 90% of RMWCT posts (which are Oscar and Caz/Ram/Oz/Wal)

Dream teams are dream teams--- managers did not own all 4 of them, and Gerrard was running wild IIRC, Also wasn't Mata still with United?

Midfield options: sanchez hazard + 3 more

But who are the 3? Many go boyd for benching so left 2

      adm? Not v on form
Sterling/cout and eriksen? Good shout tough fixtures
Silva? Always have been the assister rather than scorer
Tadic? Not doing much fpl wise
Elia punch moses mane etc form the budget options which many will take 1 of them but not both

Which means the last spot out of no options is likely to be from arsenal n oscar.

    Morning all

It just goes from bad to worse, doesn't it. Fabregas and Sanchez doubtful now. Mind you, I wouldn't take a blind bit of notice of Wenger regarding injuries - I've never forgiven him for declaring that "Robin's out for a month" a few seasons back after RVP went of with a knock during a game. I sold him, like many did, only to see him frolicking like a baby lamb the next week.

this. I think most will go with only Kane for now, and 3rd mid -> Erik and/or 4th mid -> Chadli look like viable moves.

overlooking him because his schedule isn't great, and then there's a blank.

Will bring him in the moment GW27 kicks off, i'll tell you that

I'm selling him on my WC due to fixtures.

The final member of my GW1 team will then be gone 🙁

Siggy > ? with a budget of 8.1. I am thinking Chadli or Puncheon.

I have Sanchez Hazard Silva Downing as my other mids.

    MUN
    eve

Would rather JWP despite questions over his nailed-ness at the same price.

Game time a massive risk though...especially if you're relying on a solid 5th MID for coverage during upcoming blanks

Considering Boyd > Colback... Depends on whether or not I can spare the additional 0.3 during the WC...
I would prefer Colback as 5th MID, to be honest

For those who are going with Walters (like me) or Moses,

If you don't feel like playing the STO midfielder in GW25 (MCI), you can also play your WBA def (SWA) or PVA (QPR) instead that week.

Likewise in GW26 (vs avl), you can play your 4th defender (i.e one from that SUN vs WBA, which I think will be 0-0), or Woll (avl) - or even Bellerin (cry) if he's still nailed on.

In GW27 when your Kane/Chadli/Erik has a blank, your Stoke midfielder of choice will have HUL 😉

For those who are not on the wagon, feel free to do so. 🙂
