We’ve a couple of Premier League encounters to tide us over this afternoon. First up, Arsenal entertain Villa at the Emirates as Arsene Wenger’s men look for a fifth win in six attempts – the likes of Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud have earned plenty of new investors over the last couple of days as a result of Alexis Sanchez’ hamstring problems. With Villa failing to score in each of their last five, the Gunners’ prospects of a third straight shut-out also look likely here.

Later in the day, Southampton welcome under-strength Swansea to St Mary’s at 4pm. Eljero Elia was drafted in by 100,000+ FPL managers on the back of a double at Newcastle last time out but with Sadio Mane back from the African Cup of Nations, the Dutchman’s new owners will be eagerly awaiting Ronald Koeman’s team sheet. Like Arsenal, the Saints will be optimistic of a clean sheet today – Swansea are devoid of the suspended Gylfi Sigurdsson and have scored more than a single goal in just one of the last 11 Gameweeks.

Granville you were so right that something will come up for Mark. He gets jammy pts too many times. Giroud vice and PVA from the bench. Wow. PVA from the bench. That never haooens to me

Did you follow Mark's team last year, Daniel? I think he probably deserves a bit of luck.

if you are talking about him starting Sanchez then he does deserve em.. no one expected him to start anyway so most just had a bit of fun

Did he have Sanchez captain? He was not expected to play so having a good vice captain and first sub doesn't seem that jammy.

I have to disagree. They don't have the same threat. However the price cut is very tempting.

At the end of the day, Cazorla's point were ridiculously lucky.

Two sideways passes resulting in assists and a goal that should have gone down as a penalty miss and minus 2 points.

    My conscience is clear. 🙂

    ADM > Silva
    ADM > Fab

    Hmm...

Fab would give me the double Chels and Arse in midfield, lethal and better long term.

But, Silva gives me that great fixture this week, better short term...

    1. Cazorla

What's wrong with doubling up if they both have similar threat and that threat is significant?

Not all his fault, the owner wants to sell but can't for his pricetag.

No money spent and any star created gets sold. Tough to work in that environment when even sides like Leicester and Hull are spending money.

      1. Wilshere Knowledge
        • 12 Years
        11 years, 6 days ago

He still has players like Benteke (international player), Delph (international player), Gabby, Weimann, Vlaar, Okore, Guzan etc. They have the quality of players to do much better than he is doing.

Just look at Burnley. Villa have more resources, and a better team, but Dyche manages to get goals still.
