This evening we preview the final and third place play-off matches of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during the semi-finals.

CMIFLFC, who is 3381st overall, eased past 731st ranked bobbyg in the semi-finals. His score of 82 was also the round’s top score, which earns him £25 worth of free Paddy Power bets.

The other semi-final saw Momalpashands, who is ranked 389th in the world, see off 278,180th ranked Harts Hotspurs in what was the round’s David versus Goliath clash. Momalpashands’ impressive score of 81 proved too much for our plucky minnow’s tally of 59.

The final between Momalpashands and CMIFLFC is finely balanced thanks to both already playing their winter wildcard during Gameweek 23.

Of the pair, CMIFLFC already has Gameweek 24’s standout captaincy choice Sergio Aguero, who faces Hull City at home, in his team.

But while Momalpashands opted to go without the Manchester City striker on his wildcard he has shrewdly kept enough in the bank to draft him in in place of Olivier Giroud and that move looks the likeliest scenario. Momalpashands also has David Silva in his team, another good option in Gameweek 24, which may give him the edge.

Among CMIFLFC’s key differentials are Santi Cazorla, Jonathan Walters, Jason Puncheon, Graziano Pelle and Nathanial Clyne. He should also have Olivier Giroud to call on as a differential should Momalpashands swap him out.

Momalpashands will be hoping his differentials, including Theo Walcott, Saido Berahino, Harry Kane and Cesc Fabregas, will be enough to win.

Meanwhile, the squads involved in our third place play-off clash is less clear, with both bobbyg and Harts Hotspurs still keeping their winter wildcards back for Gameweek 24.

Good luck to all four managers left in the competition. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

Aren't Ozil, Cazorla and Wilshire in risk for rotation?

I think Sanchez and Walcott should be nailed on on the wings, and those 3 to fight for attacking mid place.

Please say this is true, cos i have sold sanchez for walcott!

I did same bro. I think that Walcott and Giroud can bring me more points than Sanchez alone.

This was my thinking, but the counter argument is 'of course they can; theu are two players. Sanchez and Kane can get more points than giroud and walcott' etc.

          Still, he who dares...

I still have regular WC so can bring back Sanchez. Current team:
            Ospina, Krul
            Azpi, Fonte, PJones, Wisdom, PVA
            Hazard, ADM, Walcott, Sterling, Moses
            Aguero, Giroud, Kane

You STILL have a regular wildcard!? Good work! In that case, for the first time i would suggest more punts! Get zouma, mane, lambert, bellerin etc.

                  Great stuff.
looking ahead, i reckon gameweek 28 will already be one you'd wanna use your wildcard for.
Reasons: you want as many spurs and chelsea as possible for double gw, but you will want as many players playing as possible in gameweek 27. also, fixtures are poor for other big teams that week. So you'll want to bring a couple of non chelsea/spurs in, meaning you'll be unlikely to have a spare transfer for gw 28.
Plus, if you leave it too long into the season it loses it's impact (in my humble opinion)

Would use 2 FT for GW 27 as I have 9 good players for that GW and then use it for 28 😀

Cazorla is untouchable, the "brain" of the team, a leader in midfield and a great and inteligent player, no way.

I think Ramsey, Cazorla, Sánchez and Giroud are nailed on (when at 100%)

Then it´s between Walcott and Ozil or they can play both if he puts Cazorla with Ramsey.

I am not so sure about Cazorla. He is in good form now, but he wasn't so great at the start of the season and last season. And he is the oldest there.

On wildcard and core of team:
    Panti -Heaton

Terry- Jones - Bellerin - Wisdom

    cazorla - sanchez - hazard-

    Kane- Kun - Sturridge

Troubling with my cheepies (4th mid and 2 benchfodders (5th mid and def) mostly)
    wasilewski -walters -ward browse(14,2 ITB)->
a)Elia+lucas+vlaar (lucas for 2pt for 27 and vlaar for hopping he improves villa to the lvl of their early gameweeks triumphs)
    b) Milner+ boyd keep wasi (problems in 27)
    c) zaha+ coldback+PVA (do I really double on sunderland def?)
    d) any other suggestions (mayby including downgrading and upgrading)?

I've been clinging on to ADM for ManU's fixtures, but they seem to have passed him by somewhat! Stats don't seem to be awful, so hoping to keep for BUR and SUN. Agree it's been a tad frustrating though.

i keep expecting them to thrash someone. No idea why. They're not showing many signs!

i'm thinking of getting him too, as like City's fixtures - esp at home. Might require some patience though as he can blank like the best of them.

maybe just go for it if you have nothing else pressing.

    Foster / Hamer

    PVA / Jones / Clyne / Wisdom / Bruce

    Haz / Sanchez / ADM / Cazorla / Johnson

    Aguero / Kane / Ings

    A) ADM > Silva

all my rivals in Top5 of my cash ML have at least 1 Man Utd defender/GK. One guy have doubled up on their defence. I have none.

Should Jones be mine Bertrand replacement then to cover it? Or should I find some other way and hope for United to concede in the next games..?

Haven't been watching the matches now, but why does everyone want Silva again? Has he become any different from the past few seasons, when he just assists the assister?

But most of that was with Aguero out, surely he won't be that attacking from now on?

          Aguero assisted him last week.

No most of that was when Aguero and Yaya were playing. Have a look at his history on FPL.

Actually you were right about Aguero being out for some.
We can but see what happens, but whatever the reasons he is scoring points and has a good run ahead.

He just loves to play Hull and his recent form, even in FPL terms, is excellent.

I think they'll switch to 4-4-2 and that will heavily dent his appeal.

It's a nonsense that assisting the assister lark....

      In context.
Last season Silva played 2100 mins for 7 goals and 12 assists. As compared to Cesc this season 2 goals and 15 assists in 1800 mins...very much his equal.

Silva is as good a pick as any mid in the game. The problem is missing his pts because of his injuries...

So then. I notice a few jerky knees. Who had Sanchez at the weekend but not now?

I've stuck but I've noticed people already binning him before the press conferences.

      Same, waiting for news.

And to be honest, Boyd off my bench isn't a bad thing for this weekend, before Sanchez at home to Leic.

Yeah I'm wondering about upgrading Boyd for this period with blanks/dgws/injuries etc.

After going down for a second time last night, it looks like he'll go down that extra .1 by Saturday.
I'm just hoping Wenger gives us some definite news.

Yes. He will come back. 15 games left, I can't be bothered putting him back in

Yep. Knee-jerked and ditched him for walcott as soon as i pressed the wildcard button.
      Profit/differential-driven move.

Who knows? My prediction is that cazorla will run out of steam and sanchez will get about the same amount of points as walcott from the wing.

Only a prediction, but that's what this game is all about, hey?

Thoughts on a cheap, solid goalkeeper rotation until the end of the season, that doesn't include Pantilimon?
