This evening we preview the final and third place play-off matches of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during the semi-finals.

CMIFLFC, who is 3381st overall, eased past 731st ranked bobbyg in the semi-finals. His score of 82 was also the round’s top score, which earns him £25 worth of free Paddy Power bets.

The other semi-final saw Momalpashands, who is ranked 389th in the world, see off 278,180th ranked Harts Hotspurs in what was the round’s David versus Goliath clash. Momalpashands’ impressive score of 81 proved too much for our plucky minnow’s tally of 59.

The final between Momalpashands and CMIFLFC is finely balanced thanks to both already playing their winter wildcard during Gameweek 23.

Of the pair, CMIFLFC already has Gameweek 24’s standout captaincy choice Sergio Aguero, who faces Hull City at home, in his team.

But while Momalpashands opted to go without the Manchester City striker on his wildcard he has shrewdly kept enough in the bank to draft him in in place of Olivier Giroud and that move looks the likeliest scenario. Momalpashands also has David Silva in his team, another good option in Gameweek 24, which may give him the edge.

Among CMIFLFC’s key differentials are Santi Cazorla, Jonathan Walters, Jason Puncheon, Graziano Pelle and Nathanial Clyne. He should also have Olivier Giroud to call on as a differential should Momalpashands swap him out.

Momalpashands will be hoping his differentials, including Theo Walcott, Saido Berahino, Harry Kane and Cesc Fabregas, will be enough to win.

Meanwhile, the squads involved in our third place play-off clash is less clear, with both bobbyg and Harts Hotspurs still keeping their winter wildcards back for Gameweek 24.

Good luck to all four managers left in the competition. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

Wanyama and Schneiderlin will improve us massively. Yoshida isn't anywhere near as good as Toby but Victor and Morg should shield him quite well.

Targett is more defensively responsible than Bertrand, imo. Admittedly not as good but he's definitely very much aware of his role as a defender.

I watched him against Bayer (and I know him from Salzburg), the guy has an amazing ''football brain''. Mkhitaryan is ok, but I think he's far too wasteful in front of the goal and I don't think BVB can afford that at this point.

Him, Mane, Soriano and Alan were quite the quartet last year. Yeah he's basically Coutinho - thought he would have a huge year 🙁

Next year maybe, he's only gotten to a bigger league and I hope BVB doesn't spoil it for him. But I don't think he's going to have any recognition problems, his hair is one of a kind 🙂 ...Saw him at a restaurant once, he understandably wore a hat 🙂

I really don't know what's happened. It can't just be Lewandowski, I think Immobile is a very decent player, even Ramos is no donkey. Now Reus and Gungogan are back I would have expected them to finally start motoring but clearly there are huge, huge problems, one of them being that Hummels is probably the most overrated player on earth.

They'll probably go on and win the CL now

Even if the whole first team was injured, they should be in the top half of the table. They lost passion or something, it's a problem of mentality, 100%.

That's probably the case yeah, the dressing room must be so quiet. It's interesting how they look like another team in the CL. I hope they avoid relegation and do a serious comeback in the next season, a real waste of talent to be relegated.

Gw 27: no chelsea qpr spurs and leicester.
gw 28: spurs and qpr play twice

Thinking of getting lloris as second gk, benching lloris haz erikson kane for gw 27
Transfer in chadli for gw28 and have lloris chadli erikson kane play twice.

Or would you take a hit to get additionally any qpr players for gw 28.

I'm obviously not Demi, but for what its worth I think he'll start on the bench. Got to be careful with him. It will be 500mph as well remember, Mersey derby.

But these are also the kind of games that you need to win and need your best players on the pitch from the start.

A bit unfair, if you ask me. They guy can barely form a sentence and he's being charged for things he said 🙂

Koscielny is the most nailed, then Mertesacker, Bellerin, Monreal and Gibbs are 50/50, Chambers, Gabriel.

    Bertrand > Kos or Fonte

If you are going to get Fonte, why not just get Clyne for the same price?

ADM > Silva/Caz/Sterling are the popular options it seems. I'm keeping him for another week though

I'm definitely seeing the merits of having 5 decent midfielders at this time of year. Upgrading Boyd to a 8.5m(ish) player would mean Puncheon, rather than Boyd was my 5th mid. Madness?

I think you need a 5th midfielder that you can use. We have question marks over Sanchez and the blank. Someone like Moses, Cabella, Puncheon etc. looks lovely for 5th.

Having a decent 4th defender and going four at the back for a week is also an option

It's not madness. I went for Downing + Walters combo instead of Oscar/Sterling + Lucas and look how that turned out. You have got to have 14 nailed players to get the most out of GW27 and it's consequences.
