These are difficult times for Granville. Sadly for him, his prediction that Diego Costaโ€™s studs played into my hands along with Emre Canโ€™s ankle proved correct โ€“ the Chelsea villain pushed me into a Gameweek 23 Wildcard and I cashed in.

It left Granville spitting feathers and 92-points behind but he remains defiant. Even with the millions draining from his squad via his active Wildcard, my resolute co-host is not giving up on keeping the season alive and the rivalry as bitter as ever.

We weigh up Granvilleโ€™s latest options in his quest to close the gap: analysing the contest between Sturridge and Aguero for our place in our forward lines, check in on the fallout from the Sanchez injury, whilst wading through the usual regulars ahead of another Gameweek.

Guys, talk to me about Mama Biram Diouf. I need to get rid of Steven Fletcher for my draft league side. Is Diouf nailed on now that he's back?

Walters just got a hatrick so I think he'll hold on to that forward spot for now. But Diouf should get back soon

Will any of you be selling players to field 11 in gw27?

I'm thinking it isn't really worth doing so since they'll have a DGW to follow.

I'll be fielding 11 players hopefully but wouldn't sell anyone just to field 11. None of the fixtures really stand out for gw27 and it'll be more or less luck based.

So stick to what you've got is what I'm thinking

You are playing the points scored up to now, not the points that will be scored over the last 15 games.

I don't expect to want him back, I'd rather have Ozil (better value). If I do he'll have fallen in price by then anyway.

Exactly, by looking at Sanchez's form over the season I'll confidently say he will outscore Ozil and Walcott.

You can't say Ozil is good value just off one good performance against a horrible Villa side. Not saying he isn't, just saying give it a few more games to see how he looks.

Ozil averaged 5.5 points pg last season. He's not in my team yet but I'm much more likely to get him than Sanchez.

Why are you talking about Ozil's performances last season instead of talking about his performaces this season (generally, very poor except for the two villa games). Yes, he has been injured but that's no excuse when he has performed below par when fit.

At some point, you have to ignore value and just go for the player who will score higher.

LOL. It's a Grade 1 hamstring strain. "Fully fit" is still 2 weeks away unless they want to risk a recurrence. And they don't need him against Leicester.

Only way he plays on Tuesday is if he badgers Wenger into it.

I don't see why you are being so defensive. Probably to try and convince yourself that getting rid of him was a good idea.

My point was, if he has recovered and is fit enough to play then he will be played, no doubt about it. The fact that Wenger gave him a chance is in itself, promising.

@BigBudgie, in reply to your suggestion of doubling up on Bony and Aguero -
I refer you to the Negredo and Aguero duo of last year. You may be right here and it could be a great differential as well, it's not without merit for sure and may be warranted (well probably be either or for me fwiw). I'm pretty sure Pele's favorite way to skin his championship cat, is to opt for two strikers up top. Last season proved that City perform better when they have the luxury of a target man to bounce off Aguero and Dzeko’s goal scoring prowess and clutch performances.

Aguero and Negredo partnered in the first half of the season, led to City piling up a whopping 104 goals in 32 games. This was since the Manchester derby in September until the end of January, right when Negredo suffered a bad shoulder injury fwiw. Aguero managed a staggering 24 goals in 20 matches in that period while Negredo bagged 23 in 30 matches That led to the new goalscoring record in the prem and subsequent title for Pele's men, in three and a half months that duo up provided the bulk of a 156 goal spree for City.

So, one has to wonder if Bony provides the same qualities Negredo provided. I'd argue he can fit just as well if not better, as we know what to expect from Bony, is proven and he can also play great link up play and hold the ball very well also. Keep in mind that after Negredo's injury, City only had 41 goals from their last 20 games in the season and it was thanks to Dzeko's efforts that helped propel them to win their title. Nevertheless that partnership up top was felt dearly and the team suffered heavily throughout from an offensive standpoint. In any case, I can't wait for YYT back myself as his absence has shown tremendously, and you can see Aguero is receiving lackluster deliveries from all ends.

Navas hasn't done him any favors either and he needs to make a case as a pure winger, the man just can't cross it seems lately. Bony thrives on crosses and hopefully Navas finds a better ball by the time's he back as those delivering from the wings are crucial for any striker, but more-so for Bony as he is a huge aerial threat. His corners haven't been very accurate either, abysmal really.

    Last season for Aguero http://www.espnfc.com/player/44927/sergio-aguero?season=2013
    and for Negredo http://www.espnfc.com/player/102978/%C3%A1lvaro-negredo?season=2013

Hopefully not Fortune, Navas is dire and Nasri is the better passer and player overall. Navas as a pure winger from the twilight does have it's benefits though, provides width in games when it's needed fwiw

Ayoze Perez. The best 8th attacking player (1st sub) surely? He costs only 4.6m & has started like 10 matches in a row now. Moreover he has AVL fixture in GW 27 which is when we actually need him. Why so little love? Is it the hesitation of switching to 3-5-2 or do you still consider him as not nailed on?
