These are difficult times for Granville. Sadly for him, his prediction that Diego Costa’s studs played into my hands along with Emre Can’s ankle proved correct – the Chelsea villain pushed me into a Gameweek 23 Wildcard and I cashed in.

It left Granville spitting feathers and 92-points behind but he remains defiant. Even with the millions draining from his squad via his active Wildcard, my resolute co-host is not giving up on keeping the season alive and the rivalry as bitter as ever.

We weigh up Granville’s latest options in his quest to close the gap: analysing the contest between Sturridge and Aguero for our place in our forward lines, check in on the fallout from the Sanchez injury, whilst wading through the usual regulars ahead of another Gameweek.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Crikey. OK. But what if, when he returns, his scoring drops off?

We are playing now, not some time in the future.

    WC Team, any glaring errors?

3.4m in the bank for Caz>Sanchez with 0.4 leftover.

    Foster | Myhill
    Terry | Bellerin | PVA | Naughton | Zouma
    Hazard | Caz | Silva | Mane | Ameobi
    Aguero | Kane | Giroud

Very much of the moment. See what the situation is with Sanchez. No immediate need with Cazorla doing just fine in there. Not too keen on Silva upon Nasri and the Ivorians return. Perhaps young Sterling.

the vague idea im having in my head is to transfer him in again, against leicester, if he starts. But that would mean a -4 hit, but think it could be worth it, especially if im not pleased on any of the midfielders i have in my team now. Hard to predict though, even though its less than a week. If he doesnt start, i will wait two gameweeks more I think.

    Repost:

Ayoze Perez. The best 8th attacking player (1st
sub) surely? He costs only 4.6m & has started
like 10 matches in a row now. Moreover he has
AVL fixture in GW 27 which is when we actually
need him. Why so little love? Is it the hesitation
of switching to 3-5-2 or do you still consider him
    as not nailed on?

No. It is because he hasn't really troubled the scorers ...

Also, the time for cheap strikers has now passed.

    2. Phillips
      • 15 Years
      11 years, 28 days ago

I don't think he's a bad option because there isn't a 3rd striker that is a must-have but it just comes down to only having 3 striker spots in general.

You need Aguero and Kane but perhaps you can drop Giroud for Perez and just get Caz/Sanchez. I'd probably go for Defoe if I was going cheap though.

He's a very good pick for a committed 3-5-2 team. But with so much value in the strikers most are 3-4-3.

    Hi 🙂

    My team now:

    Pantilimon

    Koscielny Cahill Pva Bertrand* Wisdom

Ellia Sanchez* Di Maria Hazard Boyd

    Giroud Defoe Rooney

    1 FT, 1,9 ITB

I really want to do Rooney -> Aguero, but i don't know what to do with Sanchez (sell price 10,8 - so i will probably keep him) and with Bertrand

    So maybe
    Rooney-> Aguero
    Bertrand-> ???

I would be grateful for Your comments and suggestions 🙂

    Thanks

I decided Moses is a better option than Walters on the WC. With Diouf back Walters will return to the wing where he is ineffective. Moses provides far more threat and creativity from the left than what Walters can do on the right of midfield.

How much to spend on defense?? Currently thinkng of defense as follows:

    Terry // Pva // Bellerin // xxx (one of naughton/hutton/dummet/wolscheid) // xxx

For the final slot, not sure how much to spend esp since i have the funds given sanchez injury

    A: Get another 4.5m def.
    - Terry to play every gw
    - Bellerin will start quiet a few given arsenal's fixtures, and i expect him to play
    - Pva has some very tasty fixtues so will def play him for his home games
    - so will only need my 4th and 5th def to play when one of bellerin/pva has a bad fix

    B: Get someone more expensive i.e. p.jones
    - Terry to play every gw
    - P.jones to play 90% of the games
    - play one of bellerin // pva // naughton each week

Leaning towards A as i expect B to give me a massive benching headache next few gw's i.e. gw25 when p.jones (BUR), bellerin (LEI), Terry, naughton (SUN)

Would you keep Downing on your WC if you had bought him for £5.7m? Good fixture in GW 27.

Fixtures aren't too good for us, plus Allardyce is using the ineffective Nolan where Downing has been great for us. The price is nice but I think there's better options now. Sorry...

Just took a look at Coutinho's ownership, 4.0%. Wow, great little player to own and it may be daft to get him over Sterling, but perhaps the risk it worth it at that price and with his recent showings. Just scored as well fwiw, albeit his goal scoring prowess doesn't inspire confidence.

.8 cheaper as well, may take the plunge here gents. Anyone thoughts gents?

Ah, someone else feels so 😛 I thought abt him, but wasn't sure, going with Oscar instead. Just realised, I can get him as 5th mid if I take out Giroud for, say Gayle/Perez.

Aye, love to watch him play and his form has been unstoppable as of late. Right in time for Sturridge as well.

Hmm not sure there Holmes, I'm not keen on Giroud myself but if it means a double up on Sterling and COuntinho, perhaps better not to IMO

I guess so yeah. I just think it's very short term and in a couple of weeks we'll want to focus on spending our transfers on DGW players instead of expensive midfielders who have been shunted out wide 😉

I'm saving at least 1.0m in the bank to do Silva --> to Sanchez probably when he loses appeal myself. Good point on planning for DGW's, these trannies are precious!

Same transfer I've been pondering the past 2 days. But the more 'obvious' it looks to get silva, the more im starting to think sterling could be the clever transfer instead. Better form, much more goal threat, tougher fixtures... HMMMMMM....
