These are difficult times for Granville. Sadly for him, his prediction that Diego Costa’s studs played into my hands along with Emre Can’s ankle proved correct – the Chelsea villain pushed me into a Gameweek 23 Wildcard and I cashed in.

It left Granville spitting feathers and 92-points behind but he remains defiant. Even with the millions draining from his squad via his active Wildcard, my resolute co-host is not giving up on keeping the season alive and the rivalry as bitter as ever.

We weigh up Granville’s latest options in his quest to close the gap: analysing the contest between Sturridge and Aguero for our place in our forward lines, check in on the fallout from the Sanchez injury, whilst wading through the usual regulars ahead of another Gameweek.

Pay your dues via this link or mark up the deficit via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm considering shipping, got him late so "only" losing 0.3

I'm not sure if he'll start midweek tbh, Wenger won't take any chances against Leicester...

Hey, would anyone like to give me some advice on this WC?

    Foster - Myhill
    Rojo - Bellerín - Zouma - Wisdom - PVA
    Hazard - Silva - Özil - Cazorla - 5.5 MID
    Agüero - Kane - Austin

Got another wildcard handy, and 3.2 ITB if I want to get Alexis Sánchez.
Or should I upgrade Austin? Can't really see where to go, when I already have 3 Arsenal.
Who should be the 5.5 midfielder?

    1. NABIL - FPL otai
      • 13 Years

Not convinced with Rojo. I'd prefer Fonte.

Your 5.5 mid is Walters (many will disagree) - great cover for Haz in GW27 as well.

I'd lose Ozil personally (Sterling maybe?) and do Austin > Giroud. Rojo > Clyne/Jones too.

      Punch as the 5th Mid

would prefer Wally over Ozil. Ozil is a LAZY player who sometimes does not move for 3 games in a row. I just don't see why AW loves him so much. With that attitude he would of left my team yonks ago

I'm now completely re-considering an alternative for my WC. No cheap 5th mid. Strategy is to maximise all options for GW blanks, bad fixtures etc by have a solid 8. Comments please. 0.2 ITB

    Krul Foster

    Alderweireld Terry Bellerin (PVA Wisdom)

    Sterling Eriksen Silva Hazard Cazorla

    Aguero Kane Giroud

Looks VERY strong. And I guess a strong 5th mid will come into its own with the blanks. Had I thought of that when I wildcarded I may have gone that route. Issue with yours is , it's going to be a VERY hard benching decision each week, but if you get it right it could pay off spectacularly.

Cracking team, don't worry about the benching headache. It is a completely illogical argument.

Whether you have sterling on the bench scoring points or boyd getting blank has no bearing on whether eriksen scores for you when you pick him.

By having no bench alternative you play eriksen through his poor fixtures if you have no alternative and end up not having any points on the bench if you have a weak sub but if you want to maximise your points then you rotate players according to when they are most likely to get points. This does take a degree of skill but this is the game.

In my opinion, if you are considering getting rid of Sanchez, now must be the time. If he's back for the Leicester game, you'd want him. And if you are thinking that you might as well wait for the lineups for GW25 and then decide, well, if he's in contention for the Leicester game, he's definitely back for the Crystal Palace game, as it is 11 days later. Would you really sell Sanchez just because he's out for one game?

So my question for all you wise people:

Use two free trades to play Silva over Moses for the next 1-2 gameweeks, or save the FTs?

I think Walcott looks another entry into the Arsenal attack now and points will be shared. Silva looks a good option too

I kept him him with my WC last week but still got a great score. No problem for me to ditch him this week - will get him back if I want to.

Assume you mean Sanchez to Silva back to Sanchez if fit. I'd do that if nothing was more urgent

        11 years, 27 days ago

Exactly. I can't imagine that I won't be getting Sanchez back again once he's fit, so effectively that's two trades. I'd also like to save up to have two FTs between GW27 and GW28 to stock up on double DGWs. If Chelsea get a DGW later on, then it won't be an issue, but if both Chelsea and Tottenham have a double GW28, teo FTs will come in handy.

Not on WC but it's too early for Studge. Giroud imo will outscore him in the next few GWs.

Early bird catches the worm. 😉

Giroud gets randomly subbed off most of the times and now Walcott is back as well. Moreover Sturridge is a class above Giroud.

Indeed my firend, but then BR has said that Studge will be eased in - I'd rather have someone who's definitely playing 90 minutes and showing some form. Agree witht he class part - but it's the points that count 😉

Well lads, as always, problems set in soon after the wildcard.

    My team is

    Forster (Krul)
Clyne - Terry - PvA (Wisdom, Hutton)
Hazard - Chadli - Fabregas - Boyd (Sanchez)
    Kane - Giroud - Aguero

    I have 1 free trade and 1.1itb.

I really need to do something, and I think the best thing is to switch Fabregas for Silva. Got Fab in on the wildcard too, so it won't cost me.

My question is, is it worth it to take a hit to upgrade chadli as well? Can't see him delivering much. I want to keep Sanchez, because I'm not sure I could get him in again.

    Rate my team on 10

    Foster
    Terry, Jones, Koscielny
    Hazard, Sterling, Oscar, Cazorla
    Giroud, Aguero, Kane

    Myhill, Chadli, PVA, Keane

    Thoughts?

      6.5/7

      Thoughts:
      - Get rid of Jones. Can't trust United's defence. Couldn't even get a clean sheet at home against the league's bottom team.
      - Wouldn't go with Oscar. Consider Eriksen or even Mane.
      - No to Chadli

      Otherwise looks good.

Would've said no before this tweet, but fancy him to start now. Don't think he's the type of player to start on the bench. He's shown previous for wanting to pay despite Wenger offering him a rest.

I have put him back in starting XI after laying there last night thinking: Sanchez loves his football, and he has a (positive) arrogance.
I think he'll play, and a lot of people will be burnt.

          But it could be wrong!

Good to hear, reckon i'll hold him. Sounds as if he's superhuman, supposedly returned from a 6 week lay-off at Barca within 2 weeks. This injury seems like nothing but an excuse to rest him ahead of the FA Cup/Champions League ties coming up.
