With Caz, Sanchez, Ozil and Giroud firing, I wouldn't pun on Ramsey and hope he gets an odd goal.

Ramsey was terrible today, and Caz's ship might have sailed, if all fit I'd rather Bellerin Sanchez and one of Giroud /Walcott

Still think tripling on Arsenal attack is too much. I think Ramsey will have his day though before the season is out and be a viable option at some point and the trick will be figuring out when that may be.

Alright my fellow DZers, let's hear it, how'd your WC team do on this apocalyptic day? Did it perform as intended or are you confident that in the long run things will unfold itself?

I'm firmly in the latter camp as I had an underwhelming GW overall.

Would've been even better had I not benched the wrong player, but pretty happy overall. Looking at my lineup for midweek makes me more optimistic, lots of good fixtures. I had saved screenshots of my potential wildcards from 2-3 weeks ago and they would've been a disaster by now, so I'm mega relieved I waited until the last week.

Who'd you bench? Yeah this following GW will hopefully be more lucrative offensively.

Mané, played Puncheon instead. One of those where I played it too safe as I wasn't sure he'd start, and with hindsight it looks a terrible decision, so frustrating. Differential with the potential to explode against a crappy defence, and my ML rival who I'm ~40 points behind has Puncheon but not him. The even more annoying thing is I can definitely now see him getting Mané in this week. As soon as I saw Mané starting I just knew he was going to score, was a horrible feeling.

I sometimes wonder whether I'm cut out for FPL - situations out of my control such as injuries don't bother me at all, but if it's a decision I make and get wrong, I stew about it for days afterwards. Sorry I'm venting. 😆

Well, 56 with Krul and Coloccini left to go, so I am happy. Autsin, Silva, and Baines out so some bullets dodged. And I had a great week the week before so I didn't regret waiting until the last week. Brought in Fonte, Giroud, and Hazard who all beat 2.

I'm all set for the DGW now too, although probably not bringing Austin back for it now.

We'll really know more after a few more weeks. One week is a short time to evaluate a WC I think.

Just have to vent, so apologies (that’s what this site is for, right?).

Today I was infuriated by my accumulator as opposed to my Fantasy team. My team did just fine, shoving me up into the top 15,000, with goals from Kane, Hazard and Ivanovic as well as a good few bonus points scattered around.

But it was Skybet who wound me up. I stupidly put a £1 bet on a four-fold accumulator including Hull and Sunderland to win, and Leicester and QPR's games to end as draws, at odds of 851/1.

At half time, unbelievably, these results were all coming in. I thought Hull would never hold out, so I frantically began the impossible mission that was 'cashing out' with Skybet. They had some 'unfortunate' (convenient) technical difficulties which lasted until the end of the matches.

I actually went and wrote a formal complaint e-mail to Skybet, with absolutely no profanities, expecting they might send me a few quid to shut me up and keep me happy, but instead I received a response referring me to some small print about not being liable for factors out of their control, like technical difficulties.

For most people, I guess this would be a lesson in reading-the-small-print. Not me. No. I am now going to make it my life's work to win as much money off of Skybet as possible.

    That'll show them...right?

Captaincy % is a big factor for most.
Paying double for Aguero is a big factor too.

Yes. Other people is also a big psychological factor which is again completely irrelevant to a players points potential. I psychological study of this game would actually be very interesting. Herd mentality I guess is at the core of so much of it.

What's the situation with Spurs chaps? Need an expert on them here really. Aside from Kane and Eriksen there seems so much uncertainty about who starts for them. I'm looking to bring in one of them for my draft league side that was available (can't pick certain players due to being assigned to other teams), namely Fazio, but it seems he isn't a certain starter.

I have two FTs and a pretty nice team, Sanchez being the only doubt for now. It looks like this:

    Foster
    Azpi-Clyne-PvA
    Hazard-Sterling-ADM-Sanchez
    Kane-Aguero-Giroud

    Myhill - Wisdom, Moses, Wollscheid

My plan for now is waiting for the line-ups and then ditching ADM for Cazorla/Walcott. But should I keep to the plan in case Sanchez is still injured? I'd still hold, as I got him for 10.5 and Wisdom (WHU) would cover for him. What do you think?

Obviously I'll have rethink my tactic if ADM scores a brace tomorrow, but it won't happen (shame).

Shoehorning Costa, Lloris and Eriksen (Alongside Ivan, Hazard and Kane who I already own) into my team for GW 28 appears very challenging. Some of the non DGW players have very good fixtures that week and it will be a difficult job to drop them.

Unless you plan to have 4 DGWers on the bench in GW27, you'll be taking a hit.
The final will probably see some players injured.

Yeah I mean he's just very expensive, their defense is pretty bad anyway, and it's another transfer you'll probably need to sort out to get rid of him after the DGW. Also spending one on him means you're not spending it on an attacking player where points potential is so much higher and we have such a finite number of transfers from now to the DGW. Also I'm not sure how your team / itb is situated but I don't have enough lying around to upgrade my second GK to him by some stretch.

I was pretty convinced Chadli would be back in today. I thought he missed the last one because he was away from training for 10 days because of his a Dad's passing.

Seemed an odd one to play Lamela in the derby, although he apparently did ok.

Are there any signs he'll reclaim his place?

Yeah, thanks for the comments guys.

Given chadl's output when he's played, it's a bit of a mystery that he's been out the team for pretty lengthy periods. There has to be something Poch doesn't like. Just weird that Lamela would keep him out, as he seems a bit flaky.

You're right though Kalm, he seems trouble.

Chuba Akpom is a real punt I admit but is there any chance of him replacing Giroud? I severely doubt it but just a thought.

I'm furious because he was in my wild card team the entire week until I got worried about Silva possibly getting a big haul against Hull and swapped.

      Silva -> Mane this week

Good start to my draft league. Traded Moses and Crouch for Mane and picked up de Jong from the free players trade pool. Then proceeded to transfer out Steven Fletcher for Mame Biram Diouf. Scenes.....

Giroud for Defoe?! Have you lost your marbles?

Agree, don't get over excited by Defoe. Good fixture coming up but .... it is Sunderland

What a great day to be a spurs fan. A home grown kid sticks 2 past the gooners to turn defeat into victory. Good days for spurs fans have been thin on the ground over the last 25 years so got to take a moment to enjoy them. 🙂
