Sunday afternoon beckons in two Premier League fixtures for Fantasy managers to profit from, as Liverpool and Arsenal attempt to overcome stern tests of their top-four credentials, while Manchester City attempt to narrow the gap on Chelsea. Following that, we’ve the small matter of a Wembley showpiece to enjoy, as Chelsea take on Spurs in the Capital One Cup Final. Book the sofa for the next six hours, then.

The feast begins on Merseyside as Liverpool host City at midday. Ominously for City, their opponents Liverpool are the league’s form team, boasting a run of 10 matches without defeat and five clean sheets in their previous six fixtures. The Sky Blues, though, possess the firepower to halt Liverpool’s momentum, with David Silva and Sergio Aguero both notching braces in the Champions’ last two match-ups.

The team news finds both Daniel Sturridge and Wilfried Bony on the bench as both keep significant goal threat in reserve. City make two changes to the side that lost to Barcelona, with Yaya Toure returning to midfield and Aleks Kolarov handed a start at left-back. Manuel Pellegrini elects to drop James Milner and Gael Clichy to the bench, then. Meanwhile, Liverpool make four changes to the side that lost to Besiktas on spot-kicks, as Jordan Henderson is fit to return to the engine room, allowing Emre Can to shift to the three-man defence in place of Kolo Toure. Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Lazar Markovic also come in as Jordan Ibe, Mario Balotelli and Sturridge drop out.

Gameweek 27’s swansong pits together two sides with contrasting domestic and European fortunes, as Arsenal take on Everton at the Emirates. The Gunners are licking their wounds after being brushed aside by Monaco on their own turf in the Champions League, while the Toffees will be buoyed having chalked up a 7-2 aggregate win over BSC Young Boys in the Europa League. Conversely, the Gunners are steadily accruing points in the league, spearheaded by Olivier Giroud’s three goals in four starts; while Everton have registered just one victory in their last 10 as record signing Romelu Lukaku continues to falter, recording a single league goal in his last 12 appearances.

    bps system is so off the mark, keep a cs and you automatically get a million bps but get two assists to win the game and last in line for bps

      Guess you own Ozil hence the rant.

      Look at the bps breakdown, and you will see it benefits certain types of players.
      Not a big difference between assist and CS.
      1 assist = 9bps
      1 CS = 12 bps

      Defenders are more likely to have a higher pass completion %. (shorter, less passes)
      Successful dribble, successful tackles, open play cross are all 1 pt each

      While being tackled, or shot off target are -1

    Drop Cazorla or Sanchez to Eriksen?
    Cazorla + Pelle > Eriksen + Austin would leave me with 2,7 mil in the bank which could be used to upgrade either Austin to Giroud later on or upgrade a defender (PvA, Wisdom or Jones) or Puncheon/Cork.
    Sanchez + Pelle > Eriksen + Austin would leave me with 5,6 mil in the bank which could be used to upgrade Austin to Costa, or any of the midfielders/defenders.

    The upgrade from Austin > Giroud/Costa would be after gameweek 29, before the game against Everton. I would probably have to rest of the money to upgrade one of my defenders before the next gameweek if PvA or Wisdom dosent start.

    Thanks1

    Sanchez, Punch, Defoe to Eriksen, Coutinho and Austin worth a -4?

    Could do either Coutinho, Sterling or Ozil.

      Punch/Defoe to Sterling/Austin definitely worth doing. Idk about Alexis to Eriksen. If you had the money to do Punch to Eriksen then it's a no brainer.

    RP What's the consensus on preparing for and cleaning up after the DGW? Hits to get players in, WC to clean up or vice versa?

    My team could need some cleaning up as it is:

    Foster, Pants
    Baird*, PVA, Jones*, Azpi, Bellerin
    Sanchez*, Puncheon, Hazard, Sterling, Walters
    Aguero, Sakho*, Giroud

    As it stands, the BAPs are:

    Bellerin: 3
    Gibbs: 2
    Ozil: 1

    Very unlikely there'll be any more changes before they're confirmed.

  23. 9I6
    • 11 Years
    11 years, 2 months ago

    My team feels like it needs a big change around

    Panti - Hamer
    Clyne - Dawson - Bellerin - Cresswell - Baird
    Sterling - Hazard - Cazorla - JWP - Walcott
    Sturridge - Aguero - Kane

    A) Walcott -> Erikson

    and/or

    B) Sturridge -> Austin
    C) Sturridge -> Giroud

    I only have 1FT but think it might be worth -4 to get rid of Sturridge as he's not starting

    1. 9I6
      • 11 Years

      JWP is also a concern as he's not starting either and I usually have to rely on my subs bench
