The penultimate match of Gameweek sees in-form Palace welcome defending champions City to Selhurst Park in tonight’s 8pm kick-off. Having won three of their last four league matches, Alan Pardew’s side will fancy their chances of breaching a backline that’s managed a single shout-out in their previous eight road trips.

For the Eagles, Glenn Murray carries the main threat after bagging four goals and an assist in his last four league matches. Alan Pardew’s attacking midfield three are all likely to pose the champions problems, too – Wilfried Zaha is looking to score for the third successive Gameweek, whilst Jason Puncheon and Yannick Bolasie have both provided three assists in the last four.

Sergio Aguero’s domestic form has persuaded over 114,000 FPL managers to part company last week. The Argentine has a single assist in his last four but, having scored for his country in a 2-1 win over Ecuador in the international break, he’ll he optimistic of a return to form. David Silva, meanwhile, will be looking to continue the sort of displays that have harvested four goals and an assist in the last five as Manuel Pellegrini’s side attempt to close the gap at the summit to four points behind Chelsea. City welcome back Yaya Toure in one of five changes from the side that won against West Brom last time out, with Edin Dzeko handed the chance to impress alongside Aguero up top.

With Kane and Aguero fails Austin could almost be deciding mini leagues tomorrow if he gets a brace or similar.

My biggest ever horror story in fpl history. I was gonna swap aguero for Austin (c) as my transfer but instead did Sanchez to Sinclair! With Boyd as my first sub it's cost me 36 pts plus whatever Austin gets tomorrow. This is the biggest fail ever. I truly do feel like shooting myself. Season down the drain. 🙁

Still not selling Aguero. He's a class player and was very small margins away from a double digit score today.

Perhaps I don't feel too sore as a Austin captainer, but I know I won't be selling all season bar injury.

Is it bad that I don't value the opinion of people who attend less than 10 or 15 football matches live a year ?

Personally I attend at least 23 as a minimum, so maybe the circles I revolve in are more knowledgable about football.

It probably helps to some extent but it largely depends on the individual's ability to interpret what they're watching.

My mum could have gone to every Arsenal game and had a sit down with Arsene after the match - she still wouldn't know more about football than you or I 😉

Also, media coverage is so effective now, arguably you can digest and process more by watching live matches on a screen. Let's face it, there are pundits everywhere paid to analyse football who do just that - either from a studio or from the heavens at the ground itself.

You do see a lot at live games but then again you don't have the benefit of instant replays or live commentary.
Also, going to a match on a Saturday afternoon takes up a large chunk of the day, where you could alternatively watch 3 live games on telly instead.

To be fair, it raises an interesting point and discussion, albeit in a way that could alienate folk.

I've chosen to ignore that part of it and get stuck into the crux of the statement (see above).

I've only ever been to a handful of premier league matches.

I would like to think I know a little about the sport.

      I prefer rugby anyway. 😉

          No offencd taken buddy. 🙂

As Mark said, it's an interesting topic to be honest.

I do a lot of coaching (rugby) and you see more by both methods....

On the side of the field (can monitor off the ball stuff and individuals) and via TV playback - holistic view.

Not offended , but many on here do not live in England, or in a country where we wish to watch any( many) live games.
We do watch many many more televised games than you can hope too though , just saying

Maybe my post came across with some kind of attitude, and I didn't need to mention my personal circumstances.

Someone attending a lot of love football does show a passion for the game. Not necessarily meaning others don't have, but shows a large commitment.

Plus you can see a lot more. You can choose to watch certain players, see off the ball movement and get involved with people doing the same.

Spot on i reckon mate. I definitely find that those who regularly go to watch matches know a lot more about the game. And i don't mean regurgitating what they hear on Sky Sports, i mean actual interesting football debate

I'm Irish and 20 years ago I was going to Anfield 15 times a season plus a few away games. Every season for 4 or 5 years.
That's expensive and showed commitment as a fan. Now Im married and have 3 kids and manage maybe 1 match a season if I'm lucky.
Was I more knowledgeable 20 years ago because of this?

      Yes and no.

      Depends on the person.

I watch a lot of off the ball action. How players are getting into space, are they attentive, are they trying to stay onside, are they keeping shape with the defenders, etc, etc.

Can't get that perspective on TV. But then again if I'm unsure about a tackle I need to watch the highlights to get that viewpoint.

    Aguero

    - Should've gotten an assist when Silva's shot hit Speroni in the head
    - Hit the post
    - Should've had a penalty
    - Debatable touch for the Yaya goal (clutching)

I'll accept that he was unlucky not to get loads of points today.

    Few questions to vampire:

    1. There is space for Fernando, but no Jovetic? On Fernando's position, there can be Yaya, Fernandinho, Lampard and Milner, but who the hell u thought to bring on if we are losing?

    2. Nasri, oh really? I think he was sent by Pardew to keep ball. He wouldn't pass even to his mother (except if Speroni is his mother).

    3. Why the hell is that stupid Dzeko even in first 18? My grandpa with 130 kg would play better than him. Or just put some wood instead of him. Wood would repulse ball to the goal, but no Dzeko.

Now sack that coaching fraud and give chance to Viera.
