Chelsea take another step towards clinching the title with a 3-1 victory over Leicester at the King Power. Marc Albrighton opens the scoring for the hosts before a second-half comeback ensures the Blues can win the league by beating Palace at the Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Blues rebuff resilient Foxes en route to title

Chelsea placed one hand firmly on the Premier League crown following a 3-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. Although the Foxes were able to breach the Blues’ defence for the first time in four fixtures and emerge in the second half with a 1-0 lead, Jose Mourinho’s men rallied after the break and scored through Dider Drogba, John Terry and Ramires.

Mourinho named two changes from the XI that secured a 0-0 draw against Arsenal on the weekend, with Oscar – who suffered a nasty head collision at the Emirates – making way to facilitate Drogba’s return and Petr Cech coming in for Thibaut Courtois (the Belgian shot-stopper was not “100% fit”, according to Mourinho after the match).

Drogba popped up with a crucial equaliser three minutes into the second half and with doubts still surrounding the fitness of both Diego Costa and Loic Remy, the Ivorian frontman may well be in pole position to continue up top for Chelsea’s home clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday. Fabregas served up his 18th assist of the campaign and earned a solitary bonus point in the process, taking his points haul to eight for the Gameweek.

Chelsea’s high-priced defenders, John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic, delivered strong points returns despite the absence of a clean sheet, with the former notching a goal and the latter bagging an assist. A further two bonus points for Terry ensured that he ended Gameweek 34 as the third highest-scoring player in any team (behind Hull City’s Steve Harper and Michael Dawson), validating those Fantasy managers that plumped for the club captain ahead of the marauding Ivanovic. The lesser-owned Gary Cahill also produced rare attacking returns, having been awarded the assist for Terry’s scrappy goal.

Frustratingly, Eden Hazard drew blanks in consecutive ties for the first time since Gameweek 21, disappointing the 59% voters who opted for the winger in our Captain Poll. Hazard was uncharacteristically subdued at the King Power Stadium, crafting just two chances for his team-mates and failing to fire a single attempt over his 87 minutes. Nonetheless, few will fancy shipping out the PFA Player of the Year in light of the Blues’ schedule.

Chelsea now embark on a largely favourable quartet of fixtures that includes three home ties (CRY, LIV, SUN) and a trip to West Bromwich Albion in Gameweek 37. A victory at the Bridge would seal the title for Chelsea, sparking concerns whether the squad will approach their remaining matches with the same intensity and desire. Moreover, there’s a fear that Mourinho may well decide to freshen up his XI once the silverware has been clinched.

Albrighton nets consolation goal in valiant defeat

Marc Albrighton netted his first league goal in three seasons as Leicester’s four-match winning run came crashing to an end. The 4.2-priced midfielder ultimately proved an excellent differential punt for the double – owned by less than 2% of FPL managers, his tally of 13 points was more than any team-mate.

Jamie Vardy grabbed the assist for Albrighton’s goal, complementing his strike against the Clarets last weekend. The English striker has now recorded three goals and assists in his last six starts, only failing to deliver attacking returns during Swansea City’s visit.

Pearson named an unchanged side from that which recorded a 1-0 win over Burnley last time out, with David Nugent and Jeffrey Schlupp both still sidelined and now doubtful for a home clash against Newcastle United this Saturday. Robert Huth (calf) and Andy King (hamstring) were both subbed off early in the first half with knocks and are also in a race to be fit for the Magpies tie.

In spite of last night’s result, Leicester boast the form and fixtures (NEW, SOU, sun, QPR) that should encourage backers to retain their assets until the conclusion of the season. Perching just one point shy of the relegation berths, the East Midlands club will doubtless be fighting tooth and nail to stay in the league – improving their chances of a strong Fantasy output.

As ridiculous as it sounds I still have my WC to play as I only needed a hit to field 7 DGWs last week. Didn't go to plan and I've still got 55 points to catch ML leader. Any glaring errors in this lot?

Too little, Too late? Courtois, Costa & Remy back for the weekend?

“Diego and Remy, they trained yesterday [Tuesday] with the team. Today [Wednesday] they trained – without us, but the training was really hard and intense.

“It was the same with Oscar. He was ready to play when we were losing 1-0. In the moment we were winning I don’t need to play Oscar. He is fine.

“When you can protect, you protect. And the other way to protect is when you have the two best goalkeepers in the world, if one has a little pain and is 98%, you play the one that is 100%.”

I wouldn't go that far! 4 blanks in a row is enough for me. You'd have to think Costa is the more likely to start or come on as sub as he is still only 2 off top scorer.

10 homes 1 away for GW35, I think I'll just leave it as is. 2 Transfers for GW36 and 1 GW37 should give me my three Arsenal.

Would you get an Arsenal player in this week to avoid price changes or to play against Hull?
If so who do you think is most important?

It will very much depend on my H2H league play-off draw. Three or four strong teams left and any of 36-38 might have to be it to try and sneak an end of season cup.
I certainly won't get anywhere in my main league.

This is the only reason I haven't made the move yet as it happens. That seems the more sensible option, but going without Arsenal players this week scares me and my gut tells me that Ozil could do well. Maybe I need to listen the scout cast and then make a call!

Everton lack a physical midfielder to match him individually, yet the way they played meant he wasn't a factor in the game whatsoever.
van Gaal will certainly go looking for someone similar to Herrera to replace him in the summer(Gundogan if possible).

    I just dont get Pearson.

It's like he's trying to be funny, but has forgotten completely what humour is and how to smile, so ends up just insulting people left right and centre.

it's just awkward.. the guys a madman!

I hope Leicester go down purely because of him. Least likeable manager in the league.

He reminds me of your typical P.E teacher. And I hate the way he talks to people like they're children.

Sometimes emotions seems lost to him. I think he has had his good times and has talked a lot of sense in a lot of interviews over this season. He can be very realistic and honest which is rare from a lot of managers. The problem is when he loses it, he fights back with far more aggression than is needed. Against Home fans, players and the media.

Should be ok, surely most keeping their 'Pool for this week at least.

      Whats the priority here?

      Myhill
      JT, Skrtel, Kos
      Hazard (C), Sterling, Silva, Siggy
      Aguero, Kane, Vardy

      Foster Schlupp, Cork, PvA

1 ft, 5.6 itb. Considering bringing in Schmeichel for Foster but it seems a waste...is an arsenal offensive asset worth it over Vardy or Silva this week?

      Current Midfield of

      Sanchez, Silva, Sterling, Hazard

Would you ditch Silva for Ozil/Ramsey now or after the weekend?

If you plan to drop Silva do it this week. He has QPR next week...

I'm in 2 minds to hold on as I can afford to do Sterling to Ramsey.

Sanchez, Hazard or Kun for captain?

Sànchez: The Differential. Scored 1 and assisted 1 vs HULL at home earlier this season. Very involved vs CHE and scored both goals vs Reading in the cup semifinal a week before.

Hazard: The Obvious. Suddenly off form or playing more defensively since Fabregas plays more offensive and with most of Chelseas attacks coming from the right wing, he's less involved. Still on penos and Chelsea likely to be motivated and win the title at home vs CRY tho.

Kun: The Big Potential. If someone scores a hatty, you feel, that it has to be him. he simply loves playing Spurs, as does all of MCity and he's back in form. Although he wont get such an easy goal gifted by Guzan again, he flourishes as a lone striker in a 451, a formation, which is unlikely to be changed away from home and with Bony still not having impressed enough.

Not that I wouldn't buy him but I wouldn't captain him this week. 2 goals 1 assist in the past 3.5 months btw despite Arsenal playing excellently in that time.

If Chelsea win against Crystal Palace then they will win the league so league title will given to them after Crystal Palace match or in Last gameweek match..?

Although everyone is suggesting to play Vardy ahead of Silva, I'm not quite sure yet.
Vardy got the only goal vs Burnley and still only got 1Bonus point and Yesterday he had an assist but his BPS was horribly low.
What I'm saying is, even if he scores points, it will likely be 5(assist)to7(goal) if he doens't do so twice. When Silva scores, he's top notch in the BPS system, gets one more point for a goal and will get between 7(assist)-10(goal).
That's quite a difference and if you consider that Lamps might be tired and Yaya is even a doubt, Milner could return to the side, play on the left, which would put Silva back to his favoured no10 role
