The injuries were kept to a relative minimum over the weekend’s action as we cast an eye over the latest batch of recruits to climb onto this Sunday’s Treatment Table.

Chelsea
Ramires was initially named in the Chelsea starting line-up to face Palace this afternoon but withdrew prior to kick-off due to illness. Jose Mourinho revealed post-match:

“Ramires went to the hospital. He was feeling so bad that we decided to take him out of the dressing room and take him to hospital. I’m going to visit him now. Maybe he’s not there anymore, but he was feeling really bad, really ill.”

Manchester City
Jesus Navas missed this afternoon’s trip to Tottenham with a tight hamstring, according to the local press. City’s problems on the flanks mounted after Samir Nasri lasted just three minutes as a substitute before suffering a recurrence of a groin problem.

Newcastle
Paul Dummett is an early doubt for the Magpies’ clash with West Brom after sustaining a hamstring problem during Saturday’s loss at Leicester.

QPR
Steven Caulker was subbed off at the break in the R’s loss at Liverpool due to a suspected broken hand.

Southampton
Sadio Mane was forced off during the Saints’ loss at Sunderland after failing to recover from a challenge from Lee Cattermole.

Swansea
Nelson Oliveira was replaced in the first-half of the Swans’ win over Stoke due to an ankle injury. Garry Monk conceded the forward – who has been playing with the problem for a fortnight – is set to be assessed:

“He’s had it for a couple of weeks that ankle injury. Under the challenge, it was a heavy challenge on him, he rolled his ankle and it was enough to come off. There was swelling, so it’s one of them that we’ll have to assess in 48 hours’ time. Hopefully the swelling goes down and he’s available for next week, but won’t really know until probably Tuesday.”

Sunderland
The Black Cats’ skipper John O’Shea was forced off with a rib injury and concussion in the 2-1 win over Southampton.

West Brom
James Morrison missed the Baggies’ win over United due to injury, according to post-match reports.

This Liverpool 'assets' really cost me a top 1k finish.

Getting Migno for a hit and going Sterling over Coutinho. 30 pt swing right there.

    Hey everybody, two questions:

    1. How likely is it that Chelsea will keep a clean sheet against Liverpool?

    2. How likely are Ivan and Terry to get rotated over the next few weeks now that the league is won?

    1. ellelelle
      • 11 Years
      10 years, 8 months ago

      1) I think quite likely.. 85% confidence!

      2) I don't think they will be rotated, though Ivan probably more in danger than Terry who seems hell bent on playing every game and finishing it.

Well I haven't seen the footage but earlier on there was some condemnation over Silva kicking out at Kane after a rough foul. People were suggesting he might be in danger of getting banned over it.

It appeared to me that it was very slight, and to be honest, he had every right to be mad. Kane wiped him out hard. Ref was looking at it and didn't appear to give it any concern. Nothing in it for me.

Vardy to Giroud if the money isn't an issue.

Vardy is basically a hard-working lower league striker with pace. Leicester will start to level off now though GW38 looks a good fixture.

Kane is a quality striker that lacks some pace but also works hard. His fixtures get easier now and GW37 is a plum.

    Morning all

So, the season's really ending with a whimper, except for the relegation battle. United, City, Spurs and Liverpool all looked terrible from what I saw over the weekend. Newcastle are an absolute disgrace, QPR are pants. At least Leicester and Hull look lively. Sunderland are shocking as well.

Anyway, do we think Kane & Skrtl > Vlaar & Benteke is worth a hit? I already have Giroud and Sanchez for Arsenal.

I don't have enough dosh for a straight Kane > Benteke swap. I watched highlights of the Villa game and Vlaar seemed to be very active in the penalty area at set plays, plus his fixtures are great.

Oohhh, I could do Kane & Hendo > Benteke and Jordi Gomez. That looks much better and gets an extra doubler for gw37. I might do that. Cheers all!

I think they'll all concede, to be honest. Wait until Friday, have a look at the bookies odds then make a choice. Chelsea vs Pool could be a low-key affair with both sides happy with a 0-0, who knows? So many games are just complete lotteries at this stage, it's difficult to say.

I think BR would prefer a point at Stamford Bridge than nothing, if it's at all possible. Palace at home and Stoke away are both winnable games. If United lose at Palace Pool still have a faint chance of sneaking fourth but that'll be almost zero if they lose to Chelsea.

Decided to keep Skrtel in the end because of Liverpool's fixtures. So I decided to get rid of Clyne and bring in Kolarov, I like his statistics + fixtures. Currently in the top 3,000 so hopefully this transfer does not make me regret it. Already have Koscielny and Ramsey so I will asses Arsenal tomorrow as I do not mind taking a hit (for the DGW), I will be looking at Sanchez mostly as I will probably go without Giroud for the DGW.

    Thoughts?

    Goodnight 🙂

      Agree with the kolarov move
But no giroud could hurt imo ( I prefer sanchez too btw)

I'm playing Morgan over Fonte, Champ. Those Leicester defenders have gone points crazy in recent weeks and I see no reason why they should stop now. Southampton away aren't as strong as at home and Schneiderlin is out for the season.

thanks billy. you both are reinforcing my thoughts here. think I'll go with that. quite handy at the other end of the pitch too old wasil is.
I'm fluking his points off the bench this week 🙂 so glad I put him first sub

I think I might get him but that's only so as I can afford Benteke. Those penalties were very coolly taken though, quite impressive given the pressure. Maybe he'll be the one that shines in the run in, who knows? The stats don't back it up but it's so random at this stage of the season.

I have n'doye ideye about that mate.
seems to me from the little I've seen that larsson relies on set pieces and gomez on penalties. neither do all that much from open play. gomez has fooled me into getting him a few times over the years for wigan and sunderland. don't think I ever had any success. well no I'm ranting. back to your question, dunno

need a sunderland midfielder that plays regularly.

Saw larson missed the 2 gameweeks prior to this one and was subbed on the weeknd - was he coming back from injury?...And

Does Gomez play defensive mid - his stats are quite poor outside the pens on the weekend.

If I do it, and I'm not sure I will, I'm going Larsson. The missed games were due to suspension, so I wouldn't worry about that. Gomez could come good with a PK but that is really what you're betting.
