With less than 48 hours left until the season gets underway, we’re rolling out a reminder of our Sky Fantasy Football league for 2015/16. Having won the League of Leagues for the past three years, we’re looking to defend our crown and make it four seasons running come next May.

Over the summer, we’ve commissioned our resident Sky Sports expert d1sable to pen a number of articles for your perusal which will hopefully aid your quest for a lofty finish.

First of all, we analysed the Sky Sports Player List. Breaking it down by position, we assessed what’s on offer amongst the Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders and Forwards.

We’ve also cast a close eye over the numerous Formations available to Fantasy managers and looked at the most successful set-ups in the season gone by.

After that, we delved into the Man of the Match data, looking at both the players and positions which are likeliest to benefit from the watching Sky Sports reporters. With that in mind, we also predicted who we think will be rewarded this time out.

Earlier this week, D1sable also went back over the Captaincy rules and highlighted what he considers to be the best armband tactics for the opening couple of months.

Tomorrow, he’ll return with his new team ahead of Gameweek 1 to help guide you through the first round of fixtures.

If you’re looking to get involved, we’ve set up an official Fantasy Football Scout league – the name is FFScout and the pin number to join is 8009000.

Once again, there’s a cool £1,000 to the Fantasy manager who finished at the summit of the Scout league. Last season, the Scout League winner Geoff Pryor also clinched the overall top spot and walked away £30,000 richer.

We’ve set up a community article to exclusively deal with Sky Sports Fantasy teams. Those looking to get involved with the discussion should click this link.

None. 4.5 defenders have limited appeal this season and their returns are totally unpredictable.

Lei, Sun, Liv make up 3 of my backline
      2 x £5mil the rest

Never gone this cheap before but, then again I could always get Terry for sub-6.5m.

gomes is he nailed for liv?

awill could be good.huth solid i have him. i also have cedric but now this risk.2day.

for whm who u getting? i take it u went lescott w wba.TP

Wait, so we're saying Kabul is the safest of the 3 then?
And, Coates playing or not playing for his national team doesn't really bother me.

All signs point to Gomez as the GW1 starter.
I'm def taking the risk but, reward of finding a Top 6 team w/ a 4.5m defender is too good to pass up.
              (Chambers anyone? 🙂 )

              A. Will plays for Swans, & they didn't lose anyone.
So, I suspect that they'll have a similar defensive performance the year.
They also rotate well with many of my other guys.

              WHM would probably be Jenk?
              Maybe Reid?
These are some of the things I'm researching now.

WBA is Lescott, easy. Versatile & nailed on.
(Just hope he isn't a late transfer to Avl!)

Swansea, NewCastle, Everton have all been crushed by Europa league.
A team w/ the Hammers lack of depth would be bottom half the table if they had to suffer through Thursday night away games during November, in the Ukraine & then try to come out & play PL football on Sunday afternoon.

We're at home and scratchy form

This is an kvwrly bold statement for me. As a Stoke fan I would play Cameron but Wolly, Muniesa and even Johnson could fill in (bardsley or Cameron then at right back).

Given that Ryan has been injured all summer info question why 1) he didn't have the surgery at 9am the day after last season finished and 2) why the heck did we let Huth go?!

Just a bit of a muse, folks, but who would people predict as the top 5 players on value this season?

    Right here's the thing guys:

Yoshida may play CB at the weekend but for now provides decent cover at LB. He is doing so because Koeman cannot afford to risk Targett (no natural LB back up while Bertie's out), nor Cedric where his backup is Martina, an unexceptional talent from the Twente, bought explicitly to provide cover. Both LB and RB in our system are high energy positions, where injuries are possible and fatigue more likely. We were 3-0 up going into this match, Koeman could afford to be sensible about this and avoid unnecessary risks.

If it's not Cedric - Fonte - Caulker/Yoshda - Targett, I'll be very surprised. And probably be forced into FFS exile.

I am considering Yoshida for 4.5m. Looks like he is versatile enough to play most of the time

I'd avoid him and Caulker. It's not clear who is first choice.

was just about to post something similar. full back one of the busiest positions in the modern game and also one koeman wouldn't want to have to use a sub for on the weekend so seems logical to rest cedric and target. the attacking positions saints have more options and also not such a big deal to change up later in the game

      1. Lucy.
        • 12 Years

Yeah I expect players in the attacking positions to be subbed later on.
