Gameweek 2 gets us up and running earlier than usual tonight, as Villa welcome United to the midlands.

Both sides opened their seasons with 1-0 wins and Tim Sherwood will be seeking home improvements, having managed just one home clean sheet at Villa Park since taking the helm. Captain Poll favourite Wayne Rooney, meanwhile, looks to improve upon a record that saw him score just once outside of Old Trafford in 2014/15.

United roll up to Villa Park for their first away game of the season having struck just 21 goals in their 19 road trips under Louis van Gaal last term, registering a shot on goal every 8 minutes. They’ll be up against a Villa rearguard that kept just four clean sheets in front of their own fans last term, shipping 25 goals – only Crystal Palace kept fewer shutouts than the midlanders.

Having failed to ignite against Spurs, Van Gaal will look to his attacking players to perform tonight, providing a test to Sherwood’s rearguard following their opening day success at Bournemouth.

Hard not to feel sorry for those who put the armband on Rooney. Tough break.

Didn't happen for Memphis Depay today but he looks like by far the best pick in the United attack. Once he scores his first goal I think he'll settle down.

Really did you watch the match? He was a ghost. Mata is where I would go. Very clever through balls.

May be time to WILDCARD if you want rid of Rooney & Depay eventually

Get rid now, let them fall, play Rooney vs Newcastle then transfer out, save 0.2

Not a bad plan. If it half looked like ManU was gonna do anything against Newcastle. Try remember, it's no more Carver at the Toon, it's McClaren, and the squad has some serious quality in it if managed correctly.

Rooney looks awful. Too long in midfield.

Feel better changing the captain to Gomis last night. Will probably regret not putting it on Mane.

Rooney not playing awfully, but he's not playing like a striker... I don't see him getting big enough hauls that make him worthy of being a 10.5m player. As for Memphis, his head doesn't appear to be in the game. Plan to transfer both of them out and get & then bring them back in the future if they start to get up to scratch

memphis was better today and missed a sitter, he isnt far away from getting a big haul

Yes he missed a sitter, but misplaced passes, lack of awareness on the ball etc... Just doesn't seem up to it in my opinion. Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start next game

7 shots, 41 passes with 81% success which for a forward is pretty fine rate, lost possession just twice, 2/3 dribbles won. I'd say Depay very much was there. Rooney, on the other hand... 0 shots, 5 losses of possession, 0 dribbles, 36 passes with 78% rate. If he was there, that is very regrettable.

What happens when he scores a jammy one and Chelsea win 0-1 at City?

Comparing players after two games when one of them hasn't even played in one of those games...
