The Dugout Discussion – Sunday

There are a pair of 4pm kick-offs for our Sunday afternoon assessment, as Everton host Manchester City, while Watford search for their first win against an out-of-sorts Southampton outfit.

The Toffees punished Saints’ new look defence last weekend, ranking joint-second for big chances (three) behind Stoke City (five). The Merseysiders placed fourth for home clean sheets (eight) in the previous campaign but face a tall task trying to pacify Man City’s effervescent attack, considering they put three past Chelsea’s experienced back line.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman will be looking for a big response from his players at Vicarage Road, having watched them ship five goals in their opening two league clashes. No side has conceded more goal attempts from set pieces (eight) than Southampton this season and it will be interesting to see if Quique Flores’ side can look to exploit that apparent weakness.

Browning now a 4.0 playing option for wildcarders - shame about the figures.

With Mane injured, I was looking at a few differentials to replace him:
    A) Lens
    B) Shaqiri
    C) Wijnaldum

I like Lens but Sunderland look really bad. I think Shaq will be the focus at Stoke, but its a risk. Wijnaldum maybe, but not sold on him yet.

The popular Ayew and Payet are both in a similar price bracket, and will still be a differential in most leagues.

Thanks for all the reply's. I don't have enough for Pedro unfortunately after hearing he had a stormer today with a playing style similar to Sanchez. There seems to be disadvantages to all 3 players Wijnaldum seems to have shocking fixtures, Shaqiri has little fitness and Sunderland are playing very poor so Lens may have little chances.
