An extraordinary death threat ode to Granville provided the inspiration and backdrop for this week’s Scoutcast.

My co-host wasn’t sure whether to feel flattered or mildly panicked by a community post like no other.

Recovering from the menacing tribute, Granville joined forces with Jonty and myself to assess the merits of the deadline day arrivals, before grappling with another round of community questions.

We rinse through the De Bruyne debate, the heavy-hitter slump, briefly consider buying Jonny Evans, before tentatively giving out dating advice – again inspired by the imaginations of you, the community.

      Keep Diouf unless he's definitely going to be out week 6... he has great fixtures in weeks 6 through 11

      Whittaker -> Naughton is good not great...

      Kompany -> Kolarov... if you want to, sure... albeit unnecessary unless *free* with no hits

      McCarthy you can definitely keep and just play Mignolet every week for now until you have 2 FTs and *nothing* else to do

      keep McCarthy at 4 for a gk hes a steal. everything ive seen suggests he's still the main man.

      i dont like losing a FT so id pick one of the others. Kompany for Kolarov if you have a plan for the funds it frees up.
      Diouf to Wilson is a bit beige.

      Not a good move burdening yourself with one. Essentially throwing away 3.9m of your budget and deleting a defender slot.

      There are no players worth shoehorning in that could warrant getting a 3.9m defender. None of the big hitters are firing - the players people are looking to get in are all mid priced.

          True, Skerel also kept heading clearances from the 6 yard box to west ham players on the edge of the box. Lovrens mistake was hilarious.

          To be honest i only think Lovren will be dropped as they have a natural replacement in Sakho. Rodgers seems to be off Enrique or (Moreno)? Who ever is the other LB

    Courtouis. The bane of my team at the moment. U.S. Owners have had a unlucky time with him. My back up keeper is McCarthy. Obviously I'm going to wait for the pressers to see if he's injuried or not. But any tips guys, if he's injuried. Should I do a GK transfer for a hit. If so - who to?

      It's not just Americans, it's everybody. As seems likely, he's out for a while and you have a back up who's a bit risky. But I think McC will play at the weekend - so you may be able to wait. But if you don't want to burden yourself with the Courtois transfer next week then do it for a hit when the injury is confirmed.

    Any idea if Mertz will keep his place in the starting line-up?
    I'm planning to play him ahead of Clyne in my 3 DEF (alongside Kompany and Targett).

          Never can quite get my head around price protection and locking - when a flag is applied or cleared (I can never remember which) there is a short period of locking, but not sure if anything similar happens for a flags severity being increased or decreased, or if the change in trigger threshold happens straight away.
