An extraordinary death threat ode to Granville provided the inspiration and backdrop for this week’s Scoutcast.

My co-host wasn’t sure whether to feel flattered or mildly panicked by a community post like no other.

Recovering from the menacing tribute, Granville joined forces with Jonty and myself to assess the merits of the deadline day arrivals, before grappling with another round of community questions.

We rinse through the De Bruyne debate, the heavy-hitter slump, briefly consider buying Jonny Evans, before tentatively giving out dating advice – again inspired by the imaginations of you, the community.

    Several Chelsea Twitter pages are reporting the Courtois injury too, with both having around 100k followers each. The sources reporting the injury (Marca and Daily Mail) are far from reliable, but there's no smoke without fire.

    It's expected that Chelsea will release an official statement today, but nothing is confirmed as of yet.

    It looks highly unlikely that Courtois will feature this weekend either way.

        Indeed, but the contradicting reports yesterday which suggested it was an ankle injury are off putting.

        Either way, I think I'll be getting Begovic in. I don't care if Chelsea haven't been in the best form - 5.0m for a Chelsea defensive asset is too good to ignore.

      I doesn't matter how many sites are 'reporting' the story, it all came from the same source but until anything comes out of Chelsea we don't know anything.

    I want to pick up on something that was mentioned by Jonty, and I've heard said quite a lot on this forum...

    "I can bide my time before doing Kompany > Kolorov, since they're rising at the same pace, and there's still a 0.5M differential"

    I take issue with this because as each rise in price the amount of true value you lose on Kompany when you make a sale is increasing. Sell him when both have risen 0.2 and you lose 0.1. Make the transfer when they've risen 0.6 and you'll lose 0.3, so the argument that there's no disadvantage to waiting surely holds no water??

      Actually it depends if Kolarov is seen as a season keeper or not. If there are plans down the line to do Kolarov -> Player X, then it doesnt matter when Kompany -> Kolarov happens as you'll just lose the value anyway when you do Kolarov -> Player X.

      If you want Kola until the end of then it'd make sense to get him in as early as possible.

        You're right actually (and I ran the numbers to be certain), but I'm not sure you can view it like that. I've bought Kolorov in the believe that if he stays nailed he's a banker for me all season, but FPL plans seldom run smoothly, so who knows if injury (or Clichy) will force a transfer.

        Hard to make a call based on whether someone is a season keeper or not, unless you are specifically purchasing a mid-level player with a great run of fixtures/form, who you can see a medium term plan to draft out when the fixtures turn or you've made some value. I'd argue Kolorov is not that kind of player.

      I'm going from Aguero /Sanchez to Mahrez but i know i will play safe and go with the % as last season i kept trying to be clever and go for differentials and it did not pay off, but that's not to say don't take a chance as sometimes it does pay.

      If reports are true then yes. 5m for Chelsea defence is amazing. Team looks really nice. Not a massive fan of Lovren but each to there own.

          So let me get this straight you are lambasting people for dissing your choice to pick a player that's not started any games and not scored any goals, and probably isn't on penalties) over a player that's got 4 goals in 2 games has started every game, has better upcoming fixtures and probably is on pens??

          To have any success in Thai game you sometimes have to just follow the points, not always but sometimes. In this 2 way comparison, this is one of those times.
