Palace’s Joel Ward is ruled out for up to four weeks. Arsenal receive a central defensive injury boost, Jefferson Montero is passed fit for Swansea, Mame Biram Diouf misses training ahead of Stoke’s trip to the Emirates and Thibaut Courtois is sidelined for Chelsea with a knee injury.

Arsene Wenger has received a boost following the international break, with Laurent Koscielny fit after a minor back injury and Per Mertesacker also back in full training. Danny Welbeck has suffered a setback, which is expected to see him sidelined until Christmas, while Jack Wilshere is progressing slowly and remains unavailable for the weekend.

Cyrstal Palace have suffered a blow with news that right-back Joel Ward will miss the next 3-4 weeks after sustaining an injury in training. Marouane Chamakh remains sidelined for the Eagles’ clash with City, whilst Connor Wickham will be assessed after sustaining a knock.

Everton will monitor Bryan Oviedo “right up until kick-off” as the Costa Rican attempts to overcome a knee problem. Brendan Galloway has returned to fitness to boost the Toffees defensive options, while Tim Howard and Funes Mori will be assessed having arrived back late from international duty. Tom Cleverley could return from injury after six-to-eight weeks, according to Martinez.

Tony Pulis has confirmed that Saido Berahino is “in contention” to face Southampton at the Hawthorns this weekend.

Thibaut Courtois is set for a period on the sidelines with a knee injury sustained in training for Chelsea. The Belgian could be out for up to ten weeks, according to reports in the local press.

Tim Sherwood has confirmed that Jack Grealish, Idrissa Gana and Adama Traore remain doubtful for the King Power trip, adding that the latter is behind Grealish in his fitness battle. Gabby Agbonlahor has recovered from illness and is available for selection against the Foxes.

Mame Biram Diouf failed to train for Stoke yesterday, and remains doubtful for the Emirates trip with a hamstring injury. Marko Arnautovic (ankle) and Glen Johnson will also be assessed.

Eddie Howe could be without Charlie Daniels for Bournemouth’s trip to Norwich, with the left-back rated as “touch and go” with a knee injury. Harry Arter has returned to training, with Howe optimistic that the midfielder will be available for selection within a month.

Watford have confirmed that new signing Victor Ibarbo is unlikely to feature at the weekend due to visa issues. Fellow signing Oulare’s pitch time is also in question due to a lack of match fitness.

Swans Boss Garry Monk has a fully fit squad to choose from for the trip to Vicarage Road, after revealing that Jefferson Montero has returned to training and is available for the weekend.

Daniel Sturridge has returned to full training for Liverpool, though it’s uncertain whether he’ll be fit to feature in Saturday’s trip to Old Trafford.

Sadio Mane and Cuco Martina have arrived late from international duty, with Ronald Koeman confirming that the pair will return to training today. Koeman has also hinted that Victor Wanyama could start away to West Brom, following the transfer speculation which led to his unavailability prior to the international break. The Saints boss also hopes that Ryan Bertrand will return to normal training from next Monday.

                Doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a low scoring game. 4-0 Newcastle win would do me.

    I ws just wondering people, what if KDB starts as number 10 in his natural and preferred position and Silva starts playing on the wing, makes the option of Silva more tempting, doesn't it?

      Less appealing for me. I'd rather have whoever is playing behind the striker

            Till now he is mostly seen as the assister to the assister, but if on left wing by chance, he could well combine with Kolarov and he has great footwork to get plenty of points and much more chances of goals from his end. That's my opinion.

    Mignolet / Ruddy
    Cedric / Williams / Francis / Huth / Wollscheid
    Hazard / Ozil / Mahrez / Ritchie / Surman
    Aguero / Benteke / Pelle

    I have 2 FT
    I'm doing Ozil -> Sterling

    I'm thinking either:
    a) Pelle -> Sakho
    b) Hazard -> Sanchez
    Any other suggestions? what do you guys thinking ..

      Ozil to Sterling is interesting, but people seem to go for Sanchez. Pelle to Wilson or Sakho maybe next week?

      b) is a bit sideways, but I do think Sanchez will outscore Hazard this year.

      However a) is very sensible. Pelle fixtures are turning tough, West Ham's are more appealing.

      I would even consider doing them both and keeping Ozil until next week, I think Arsenal will get more goals than City this weekend.

      First one. Begovic will keep more clean sheets than Pantilimon.

      Coutinho will be back after the United game. Diouf to Wilson like-for-like rather than an improvement.

        5.0 is cheap enough for a Chelsea keeper. Fairly happy with my team. Only other transfer I can think of is Grealish > Sinclair

    Y'all fancy Darmain (H) v Liverpool or Francis (A) v Norwich? I could slot Jenkinson in (H) v Newcastle but I'm not certain he'll have his place back.

    RMWCT:

    Butland / McCharty
    Kolarov / Cedric / Richards (rot) / Evans (rot) / (Bennett)
    Pedro / Sanchez / Yaya / Ayew / (Behrami)
    Aguero / Gomis / Wilson

    0.4 ITB

    Too weak defence?
    Too risky going without Silva?
    Sanchez/Aguero right way to spend 24,0?

      Why Behrami? I would take Richards out for Prodl/Francis, upgrade Bennett, pop Mahrez in there somewhere and/or downgrade Gomis for someone like Vardy.

    Hello everyone,

    We have had a different sort of week this week, with it being the international break and eleven players being away on duty with their countries, and four new signings to work with.

    With less players around, it gives us the opportunity to focus even more closely on the rehabilitation with the injured players, and on getting the new signings and those players returning from injury fitter and sharper.

    At the end of the micro cycle we had with the smaller squad, we held an 11v11 match at Chadwell Heath to simulate match conditions and give valuable minutes to the likes of Andy Carroll, Michail Antonio, Victor Moses and Nikica Jelavic.

    We hope to have all the players back from international duty free from injury and it will be good to get the whole group back together on Friday, after the players’ day off, and then we will be fully focused on preparing them for Monday’s home game against Newcastle United.

    Injury-wise, we do not have too much to report.

    Mauro Zarate is progressing well and working hard to return after suffering a hamstring injury in training, with a view to returning to the group before the end of the week.

    One of our new signings, Alex Song is working hard – as you will have seen on social media – and his ankle improving, with a view to him returning by the end of October.

    Enner Valencia is rehabbing with a good positive attitude and we hope to see him return by November, while finally Joey O’Brien is still recovering from a calf injury.
