The first members’ article of the week arrives this evening as we delve into the data from Gameweek 6. We check in on Chelsea and West Brom’s new attackers, assess Everton and Southampton’s lone strikers, and cast an eye over Liverpool’s main performers in light of Brendan Rodgers’ move to a 3-4-1-2 formation at home to Norwich.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

The last time Leicester kept a cleansheet was May 16th in the 0-0 away to Sunderland. They've played 14 games since then and face Arsenal who have had the most attempts on goal in the Premier League.

depends what formation you're planing on playing.. initial thought is a) as wba defenders are fairly important from here on in

who is your other striker, Kun?

if so, maybe if Silva and KDB are set to start you bench Yaya since he won't be nearly as advanced?

I don't either, but not sure a -4 is worth bringing in Dawson, especially since he doesn't get many attacking points or BAPS. I'll likely roll the dice with Nyom

    Pre-match preview (compiled from FourFourTwo).

    1. Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City

Against Crystal Palace on MD5, Spurs' starting XI was the youngest of any team in a Premier League game so far in 2015/16 (24y 118d).

Sergio Aguero has scored 10 goals in seven PL appearances against Spurs, his highest goal tally against any club in the competition.

    2. Leicester City v Arsenal

Riyad Mahrez has had a hand in eight goals (five goals, three assists) in the Premier League this season; more than any other player.

Only once in the 18 Premier League meetings have Arsenal failed to score against Leicester.

    3. Liverpool v Aston Villa

Liverpool have won 24 Premier League games against Aston Villa – only against Newcastle (also 24) have they won as many.

None of the last eight meetings between Aston Villa and Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League have ended as a home win (six away wins & two draws).

    4. Stoke City v Bournemouth

11 of Jonathan Walters’ 13 Premier League goals since the start of 2014 have come at the Britannia Stadium.

Bournemouth have covered more ground than any other Premier League team after six matches so far this season (697km).

    5. West Ham United v Norwich City

    -

    6. Manchester United v Sunderland

Anthony Martial could become the first player to score in each of his first three Premier League apps for Manchester United.

Sunderland have only defeated the Red Devils on one occasion in their last 26 Premier League encounters (W1 D6 L19).

Manchester United have conceded just two goals in their last five Premier League home games against Sunderland.

Sunderland have won just one of their last 14 Premier League away games (D6 L7).

The Red Devils have scored with all six shots on target in their last two Premier League games (versus Liverpool and Southampton).

After scoring in his first three consecutive matches against Man Utd in the PL, Jermain Defoe has only managed two goals in 18 PL apps versus them since.

    7. Southampton v Swansea City

The last three Premier League encounters between these sides have seen the away team win 1-0.

There have only been seven goals scored in the six Premier League clashes between the Saints and the Swans.

    8. Newcastle United v Chelsea

Newcastle United have won their last three Premier League home games against Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho has never won a Premier League game at St James’ Park (D2 L3) – the only other PL stadium he’s not won at is the Emirates (D3).

    9. Watford v Crystal Palace

Odion Ighalo has scored 20 goals in 24 league appearances in 2015; more than any other player in the top four tiers of English football.

Palace have won 15 points in their last seven PL away games (W5 L2), two more than they have won in their last 12 PL home games (13 points).

    10. West Bromwich Albion v Everton

West Brom have failed to win against the Toffees is their last five Premier League encounters (D3 L2).

On the nine occasions Everton have scored first against WBA in the Premier League, they have remained unbeaten and dropped just two points (W8 D1).

I think James Wilson and Jesse Lingard will get a run out against Sunderland at the weekend especially seen as they are probably the worst team in the league

It would be a ideal game to give them a start.

Why else are they getting a rest against Ipswich?

Who do think will be dropped to accommodate them?

Will United feature to play with 2 strikers against the lackluster Slumberland?

Not sure what this theory is based on? Are you applying the same theory to City in that none of Aguero, KDB and Sterling will start this weekend because they weren't rested in mid week?

My theory is based on there going to get a game at some stage and this would be a great chance for them

What were City at going all out i dont know only thing i can think of is Pelli is going all out to win Capital 1 cup or he was under a bit of pressure after losing 2 home games

Dont be daft do you think Wilson will start only 2 games a session for his whole carrer at United or do you think he might improve his tally this session seen as LVG hung onto the lad and his track record with putting faith in the younger squad members?

i'm thinking of having what would be my biggest ever bet on chelsea to beat newc. i'm a newc fan so it's anything but a bias, and at 8/13, i feel like chels are a cracking bet. thoughts?

in the region of 1000e, with a view to lay (betfair), might sound silly but he's awfully overrated imo, has contributed nothing this season, and with him out hopefully it might give remy a chance vs former club. watching newc is just so hard on the eyes. we offer nothing in any position apart from GK and RB. pedro should have a field day! just a bit worried coz losing that would hurt me :/

No idea, I must admit I'm shaky on the workings of BAPs but just take the numbers for what they are. Check out KdB on the 3rd tab 😮

              Nice work Balders 🙂

What do the baseline BAPs exclude? Just Goals/Assists? 15 of KDB's came from his goal I think, which is probably why he's looking so high up on that table.

cant see why.. dont expect him to feature at all tomorrow and will be ready and raring to go come saturday.. actually think he will be vital for us as i expect sunderland to come and sit deep and we will need his pace and runs in behind to break them down

Oh come on now United would beat Sunderland with me playing up front

Put yourself in LVGs shoes some players might need some time

Martial was shattered towards the end of the PSV game and the likes of Mata and Depay might benefit from a break too coming into a very important CL fixture

        1. KingNidge
          • 10 Years
          10 years, 6 months ago

if he was shattered by the end of the psv game he didnt show it against southampton

every game is vital even at this early stage sure he will make changes but martial wont be one of them he gives us what no one else can up top

would be foolish to underestimate sunderland who will bring the bus and if theres any team thats gunna struggle to break that down its united especially without martial

    Myhill - McCarthy

    Kolarov - Williams - Nyom - Muniesa - Targett

    Sanchez - Silva - Payet - Ayew - Mahrez

    Aguero - Gomis - Wilson

    1 FT and 1.3 ITB.

Muniesa to Evans is a no-brainer, right? (I'd like to save the 0.2 by going Evans instead of Dawson to help elsewhere).

I've got him started for now. I just hate being caught with only three defenders and am worried about Targett and Muniesa. If one of the other three randomly pulls a muscle in pre-game then I've got a blank.

But I'll consider holding. Thanks, Walsh.

PS: If I bring in Evans, I'd likely sit Williams instead of Nyom. Even thought the Palace match is a tough one, Watford at home has been awfully stout.

Right lads, Got a tough one lads.. Costa's suspension has bit me right in the arse and I've gotta take a hit! Already used my FT to bring martial in (and already have 1.8itb)

    So

    A) Costa --> Ighalo (leaves me 7.7m itb so can switch to a 3-5-2 and do wanyama to haz/sanchez next week) -4 points
    B) Costa/Wanayma --> Ighalo/(sanchez/hazard) -8 points
    C) Costa --> pelle (and stick to a 3-4-3) -4 points
    D) Other

    Thanks lads!
