In our first members article of the week, we assess the displays of West Ham, Leicester and Villa’s forwards as the search for a Callum Wilson replacement intensifies. We cast an eye over Southampton, Spurs, West Ham and Arsenal’s midfields and also analyse the impact of Brendan Rodgers’ decision to switch to a 3-4-1-2 formation in the last two Gameweeks.

Sold Sanchez for Hazard last week, and I'm not loving my team for this week either. 0.0 in the bank, FTs used.

    Anything worth a hit?

    Lloris

    Kolarov | Williams | Dawson

    Hazard | Yaya | Payet | Mahrez

    Aguero | Martial | Pelle

    (McCarthy - Hoolahan - Richards - Muniesa)

Anything worth a hit? Already did Wilson to Vardy.

    Begovic - McCarthy
    Dawson - Kola - Francis - Williams - Morgan
    Payet - Mahrez - Yaya - Pedro - Westwood
    Aguero - Vardy - Martial

Tempted to get Pedro out. That's also assuming Yaya plays this weekend.

I've been playing 3-5-2 most of the season with Danny Graham as my 3rd striker, he can't seem to get any minutes. I haven't needed him to come off the bench for me, its unlikely that your 3rd sub will need to be used any way.

with the way price falls are happening this week could be massive for team value ahead of the international break.

have a good week and you can sit comfortably knowing your value rises, poor week and you could suffer multiple drops without being able to do anything about it. (unless wildcard is not used already)

Big fan of walcott. Lethal pace and finishing on his day

But sometimes lacks the composure or technique in one on one situation with the defs inside the penalty box

Most of his goals are by getting away from the last man and then scoring past the goalkeeper

    Thoughts ?

SCOUT PICKS CHALLENGE - GW7 RESULTS

I'm back on track with the Scout Picks Challenge results being produced right on time 😎

    GW6 results: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/11359164
    (for those who missed it)

***** SCORES ON THE BOARD *****

    1st - Balders (73pts) [3pts)
    Top 4% - Mr.Robot (72pts), Hearts of Olofinjana (69pts) [2pts]
    Top 10% - Sindriseagal (66pts), Charlie Adam in a Tutu (64pts), Krzys (62pts), Neenyg (61pts), Innsie, Zasa (59pts) [1pt]

and a few very close with Sully Sonic, Bantamdave, FFS Scout and Onside 9 on 58pts!

The FFS Scout Picks + Differentials scored a hefty 80 points this gameweek, so no bonus points allocated I'm afraid!

    Now I'm not sure how they're FPL seasons are going, but the top 2 are beginning to run rampart with the SPC! The league table is currently;

    1st - Balders (11pts)
    2nd - Mr.Robot (8pts)
3rd - Hearts of Olofinjana, Dusan Citizen, Walsh (5pts)

and that tail of people on 4pts continues to grow.

    Until Friday folks...!

Nyom (bou) and Ighalo (bou), if Francis keeps CS then Ighalo won't have scored, and if Ighalo scores Francis won't get a keen sheet.

Lovely night everyone, here's my team and I don't like it too much ATM:

    Buttland, Ruddy
Williams, Kompany, Dawson, Richards, Elphick (might be still injured too)
    Pedro, Sanchez, Mahrez, Payet, Westwood
    Aguero, Vardy, Diouf

I have 1.8 in the bank and no FT's , I got some options here:
    - Richards/ Elphick --> cresswell (not a fan of defensive hits but as u can see my defense sucks)
    - Pedro/ Sanchez --> KDB (I wanna keep Pedro ahead of some very nice fixtures, plus I've been watching him since his day1 at Barcelona, he's got class, but his form in last game worries me)
    - Don't take a hit and play williams, kompany, dawson and hope that pedro plays and gets something and sanchez too. But miss out on KDB, Tadic and Cresswell.

    What do you say lads?

I think thats more balanced. Ramsey just doesnt fit as a winger and is more suited in centrally either as a number 10 or in the double pivot.

    @Ayew Serious

All you need to know about why Sherwood signed Gestede as Benteke's replacement...

Same player...but actually Gestede is a better finisher with his head...

I never denied Gestede, I am just saying I know very little about him!

But I think I can trust you, I will consider him if Ighalo loses form

That Watford goal was ridiculous. I was in the away end and couldn't quite believe he'd headed it in

No one better in the league than him in the air. Cahill would have probably been a contender a few years ago (Timmy that is)

    Need some help guys:

    Schmeichel (Butland)

    Kolarov, Darmian, Richards, Gomez, Dann

    KDB, Ayew, Mahrez, Payet, Barkley

    Martial, Gomis, Aguero

Biggest weak link? I'm at such a loss this season.

Gomez is the priority, but i'd also rearrange the front 8 (long term), you can't play all of them. Two of Ayew, Barkley and Gomes to a cheapie and a premium mid or Forward.

    Evening all

So i'm up against thr Scout Picks this week and was wondering if you could give me advice

Should I second guess their team and find alternatives eg Wally over Sanchez or triple up on a defence full of a team that I think will keep a cleanie?

The premier league is the most competitive league in the world to watch which is why it is deemed "the best" by many. Watch other leagues and the lower teams struggle in general against the "big boys". The premier league has at least 17 teams each season (I omit Newcastle, Blunderland and Villa this season because they are sh1t) who are capable of winning even against the stronger teams on any given day.

The money the teams all have mean they can actually have a first team of decent strength (all be it a weaker squad overall). Thus each week our European qualified teams have to either use the same players week in week out or rotate. Either is not the perfect scenario. Sir Alex was a master at knowing how to get the balance right and even he didn't get it right every time. It appears this season that rotation is not helping because it is not giving the teams chance to gel and poor form of most top players with the exception of only a couple, has meant even more rotation, This is the case especially from Mourinho who I think at times becomes so egotistical he even rotates his own mind with the contents of his ars3hole.

All in all, English teams benefit greatly from the money that is found in the worldwide TV deals. However at the same time means our top English sides (Ars, Che, Man C & U) are not as far ahead of the rest of the league in comparison to the likes of RM, Barc, BMun & PSG are in the respective leagues. This hampers them in later stages but also means they struggle against the likes of Olympiakos, Porto, Zargreb, etc who are also streets ahead of their national league rivals in the group stages.

The reality is that we will lose a place in the champions league in the next few years due to our European coefficient being poor over the last few seasons against the likes of Italy if the current form of English teams in the champions and Europa leagues continue. Then the race to finish 4th becomes a Europa league spot.

It is a harsh fact that the Premier League has probably started to be the victim of its own success. The big money has made every game barring a few, watchable for the masses all around the world because of its competitiveness. This Includes the likes of us Fpl fans who watch even the poorest games and celebrate 0-0 draws like a victory because we had 3 defenders playing. However what it has done is created such a competitiveness it has actually harmed both the European ambitions and our national side but that's another story for another day!

Until money is spread about as fairly in Germany, France, Spain and Italy as it is in the English game, English sides will continue to struggle in European competition yet still play in "the best" league in the worlD

Sorry, but this is a load of nonsense.
'It is a harsh fact that the Premier League has probably started to be the victim of its own success'.

It's more a case of It is a harsh fact that the Premier League has probably started to be the victim of its own hype.

The quality of the premiership games over the last 3 seasons has, on the whole been average, I would say poor but that may be harsh.
Competitive yes, but don't swallow the hype and watch what the European games are showing you, over a number of seasons now. The message is clear.

Glenn Murray is a good under the radar shout, Ighalo also worth considering if the extra cash can be put to good use elsewhere.
