With injuries mounting up, our community writers were on hand to serve up a raft of options to replace ailing attackers, maligned midfielders and indisposed defenders. Our hot topic posters ponder just how to spend the riches made available through a certain Argentine striker’s dodgy hamstrings, while we also catch up on the latest Member tables as well as news from our community leagues.

The Community Articles

With Sergio Aguero out for a number of Gameweeks through injury the community was in the market for a new striker. Rodellegabomb was on hand with this stat heavy, Members only, article on potential replacements for the Manchester City striker as well as a follow up looking at some more leftfield options.  Later in the week he also took a look at some of the best statistics for three of the week’s key bandwagons.

The Sarjeant also offers up a prime candidate to come into our frontlines in his latest look at team form, while Your Mum’s Athletic’s Gameweek 9 What the Bookies Say article predicts goals galore on the south coast this weekend to offer further replacement options.

With many defenders struggling with injury or battling the spectre of rotation, Innsie’s assessment of baseline bonus points amongst goalkeepers, full backs and centrebacks proved a timely article for those looking to revamp their backlines.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

There were plenty more options for those looking to replace Aguero in our look at the fall out from his injury, while Balders has taken a look to see how Manchester City fare in front of goal with and without their key striker.

Meanwhile, having sold the premium priced Aguero, the community are feeling rather flushed. Here’s how some are looking to flash their newly found cash.

As with our community articles, our community discussions also looked at defender options, as the injury flags continue to flutter alarmingly at the back. Our look at which centre backs and full backs are riding high in the Fantasy points, bonus, fixtures, assists and goal charts offers up some more options to consider drafting in.

Amongst midfielders, Riyad Mahrez appears to be on borrowed time, after being left out of Leicester’s side against Norwich in Gameweek 8 for tactical reasons. Abel Xavier is one of a number of community members considering letting Mahrez go. Diva has also been looking closely at Leicester players and asked whether Mahrez owners who also own Jamie Vardy, as well as two Southampton attackers are worried about over exposure when the two sides meet this weekend.

The injuries were also mounting up over at Anfield, where new boss Jurgen Klopp’s has promised a more intense brand of football. Danny Ings is now sidelined for the rest of the season after sustaining knee ligament damage in training, while Joe Gomez is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being injured while on international duty. For those wanting to know more about Klopp’s brand of football Jaffalicious was on hands with some of his most eye catching career statistics.

Elsewhere, Gargamel popped by with news of an update to his Gargatron tool, which gives Fantasy managers a revealing look at how their season has progressed so far.

Finally, it was Christina’s turn to hand out the cake as he celebrated his birthday this week.

The Members Tables

Danandandaman has taken a stab at predicting arguably the most unpredictable element of Fantasy Football, a goal from a defender. Greenwindmill’s latest table takes a look at tough defences who are forcing opposing teams to take long range pot shots, as well as soft touches who are inviting teams into their penalty box with alarming regularity.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

The qualification results and first round draw of BaldersAmerican style Community Grand Play Offs competition are now live. Balders also brought us news of plans to set up a new community tournament organisation.

The results from Gamweek 1 of Jarvish’s Blank Week Challenge, for those wanting to carry on scratching their Fantasy Football itch during the international break, have also been published. Moorinho is setting the pace so far, with Kingozil and Onside9 also doing well.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

    Morning dzzz, how we doing?

On a wc, need help deciding whether to keep or ditch deeney (yes troy deeney!)..should be straightforward decision to most but...
    - had him from start and lost 0.3m on him 🙁
    - he plays in a withdrawn role compared to ighalo hence been getting the assists for go

Most people would say ditch..I can def see the argument there. However, till today, my intention was to keep him because
    - I need a cheap bench striker..other options are ighalo and fletcher
    - I still believe he will come good as he is nailed on with pens in his locker
    - and finally (most importnstly), so I can recoup my love value. As any price gain will be a direct increase in his selling value

So my thinking has been..I need a cheap bench striker who will rarely play so might as well stick with deeney as I genuinely don't think the other options (ighalo)is going to outscore him hereon. And since I don't see a point discrepancy, might as well keep him and hope to recover the lost value.

HOWEVER, he might suffer another price drop soon hence feeling the ppressure..on one hand, one should cut their losses. On the other hand, if it's only for bench purposes..might as well keep him?

    Please help

Don't let your decision making be affected by his price drop so far, in the past so move on. If you think he's cheap to keep on the bench but plan to play him at some point where you think he will outscore your other players then fine. Personally, I'd move on.

    Begovic Hennessey
    Dawson Bellerin Sagna Davies Souare
    Alexis KdB Mahrez Payet Mane
    Lukaku Vardy Pelle

    Some points -
    1. will be shipping out Dawson/Sagna in the future, didn't want to with such tasty fixtures up next
    2. Could put Walcott in there for either Payet/Mane

    Help needed guys:

    Myhill
    Azpi, Dawson, Huth
    Hazard, Sanchez, Payet, Mahrez
    Pelle, Vardy, Ighalo

    Ruddy, Kolarov*, Muniesa*, Westwood

So with which should I go for:

    1) Let it be as it is without a hit as you can field 11
    2) Westwood -> KDB (-4). Play KDB, bench Ighalo.
    3) Westwood - > KDB (-4). Play AOA and play first 2 defs.
    4) Kolarov -> Bellerin (-4). Play Bellerin and Ighalo. Maybe Bellerin's better for long term thinking.
    5) Ighalo -> Costa/Sturridge (-4).
    6) Kolarov + Ighalo -> Bellerin + Costa/Sturridge (-8)

    Thanks in advance 🙂

    Mahrez - De Bruyne (c) - Sanchez - Payet - Mane
    Vardy - Pelle
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    McCarthy: Ighalo, Richards, Oxford

Already made Aguero---> Pelle, so my next transfer is for a -4.
Going to get rid of Kolarov, but I honestly CANT see any defender scoring well in the next 2 other than Williams. That's why I was thinking about getting an Everton or Southamptopn defender. Thoughts?

Tough choices Reckless. If pressed I'd say Lukaku and KDB.

    Start whom
    A-Nyom(3 at the back)
    B-Mahrez(5 mids)
    C-Ighalo(3 Forwards)

    3-5-2 or 3-4-3 or AOA?
Leaning towards AOA, most seem confident Mahrez will start, Ighalo at home!

Hey DZ, on a deadline with school and needing some help:

    Sagna nailed with Kolorov out?

Am I crazy to go with Walcott and Sturbridge over Pelle and Sanchez?

Worth selling Kolarov for -4 if you don't have another playing defender?

      100%.

      No hit = 0pts
      Hit = a most likely 2 (-4)...so essentially a -2 hit in most cases.

      worth the gamble
