With injuries mounting up, our community writers were on hand to serve up a raft of options to replace ailing attackers, maligned midfielders and indisposed defenders. Our hot topic posters ponder just how to spend the riches made available through a certain Argentine striker’s dodgy hamstrings, while we also catch up on the latest Member tables as well as news from our community leagues.

The Community Articles

With Sergio Aguero out for a number of Gameweeks through injury the community was in the market for a new striker. Rodellegabomb was on hand with this stat heavy, Members only, article on potential replacements for the Manchester City striker as well as a follow up looking at some more leftfield options.  Later in the week he also took a look at some of the best statistics for three of the week’s key bandwagons.

The Sarjeant also offers up a prime candidate to come into our frontlines in his latest look at team form, while Your Mum’s Athletic’s Gameweek 9 What the Bookies Say article predicts goals galore on the south coast this weekend to offer further replacement options.

With many defenders struggling with injury or battling the spectre of rotation, Innsie’s assessment of baseline bonus points amongst goalkeepers, full backs and centrebacks proved a timely article for those looking to revamp their backlines.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

There were plenty more options for those looking to replace Aguero in our look at the fall out from his injury, while Balders has taken a look to see how Manchester City fare in front of goal with and without their key striker.

Meanwhile, having sold the premium priced Aguero, the community are feeling rather flushed. Here’s how some are looking to flash their newly found cash.

As with our community articles, our community discussions also looked at defender options, as the injury flags continue to flutter alarmingly at the back. Our look at which centre backs and full backs are riding high in the Fantasy points, bonus, fixtures, assists and goal charts offers up some more options to consider drafting in.

Amongst midfielders, Riyad Mahrez appears to be on borrowed time, after being left out of Leicester’s side against Norwich in Gameweek 8 for tactical reasons. Abel Xavier is one of a number of community members considering letting Mahrez go. Diva has also been looking closely at Leicester players and asked whether Mahrez owners who also own Jamie Vardy, as well as two Southampton attackers are worried about over exposure when the two sides meet this weekend.

The injuries were also mounting up over at Anfield, where new boss Jurgen Klopp’s has promised a more intense brand of football. Danny Ings is now sidelined for the rest of the season after sustaining knee ligament damage in training, while Joe Gomez is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being injured while on international duty. For those wanting to know more about Klopp’s brand of football Jaffalicious was on hands with some of his most eye catching career statistics.

Elsewhere, Gargamel popped by with news of an update to his Gargatron tool, which gives Fantasy managers a revealing look at how their season has progressed so far.

Finally, it was Christina’s turn to hand out the cake as he celebrated his birthday this week.

The Members Tables

Danandandaman has taken a stab at predicting arguably the most unpredictable element of Fantasy Football, a goal from a defender. Greenwindmill’s latest table takes a look at tough defences who are forcing opposing teams to take long range pot shots, as well as soft touches who are inviting teams into their penalty box with alarming regularity.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

The qualification results and first round draw of BaldersAmerican style Community Grand Play Offs competition are now live. Balders also brought us news of plans to set up a new community tournament organisation.

The results from Gamweek 1 of Jarvish’s Blank Week Challenge, for those wanting to carry on scratching their Fantasy Football itch during the international break, have also been published. Moorinho is setting the pace so far, with Kingozil and Onside9 also doing well.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

    Myhill / McCarthy
Bellerin, Darmian, Janmaat / Nyom, Muniesa
Sanchez, de Bruyne, Payet, Mahrez / Westwood
    Pelle, Vardy, Ighalo

    4 transfers for -8 / £8.2 ITB 😀

Alexis, KDB or Pelle (C) ?

      Same captain choice as me.

I think Pelle has the statistical edge over Sanchez..by a nose!

Then KDB, will CIty be the same without Kun?!

The good thing is we have the three leaders of the captains poll. Even if we take the wrong (C) choice we should get some good points.

I would recommend with a VC to go for someone who is 100% nailed. I prefer Sanchez to De Bruyne, but for VC purposes De Bruyne seems 'safer' 🙂

    Evening chaps,

Haven't been on for the last few days! Any big news I've missed out on?

    Team is;

    Butland, Ruddy
    Kol, Cedric, Jevans, Souare, Francis
    Haz, Sterling, Ayew, Mahrez, Ritchie
    Kun, Pelle, Deeney

Got 2 FT's and 0.1ITB. I was thinking of doing Sanchez and Vardy in for Ritchie and Kun. Should I get Kolarov out for -4 or leave it as that?

    Cheers,

    Feedback welcome guys:

    Begovic

    Williams, Souare

    Alexis, Mahrez, KbB, Mane, Payet

    Martial, Pelle, Gomis

    (Subs: McCarthy, Kolarov, Darmian, Richards)

Playing AOA. My concern is pelle/mane doubling up. What are your thoughts?

If you select the AOA and one of your front 8 doesn't play and a defender is substituted, is the AOA chip cancelled and available for a later GW?

The pages were flying by so fast all day today, I have ask but one more time if there is anything egregiously wrong with my WC team (had to pull that chip or go minus 12, so I just did it today, and made some other gw11 related tweaks while at it).

I have already cashed in on Mahrez, Vardy and Kola, so no going back there...

    Butland, Hennessy
    Bellerin, Bertrand, Toby, Coleman, Prodl
    Walcott, KDB, Sanchez, Payet, Mane
    Pelle, Lukaku, Ighalo

    3-5-2 plan with 0.2 itb, TV = 103.3 and SV = 102.4

Thanks, Fedo. I actually sold Vardy to get this team...something had to give, and I feel the value is in Walcott, Mane and Pelle with Ighalo being my "cheap mid," sorta speak.

My WC team looks like this right now.

      Myhill - Butland
Bellerin, Dawson, Cédric, Souaré and Francis
Sanchez, KDB, Payet, Mahrez and Ayew
      Pellé, Vardy and Ighalo

Myhill really has 3 good fixtures upcoming so maybe put him in?
Defence is the most difficult. Is Bertrand worth the 0.3 extra investment compared to Cedric?

Midfield looks great. Why did you take Mahrez out and should I consider that too?
Walcott seems like a great punt. As an Arsenal fan I really like it. He's been perfoming very well lately and his place up top almost guarantees goals. Would like him in my team too, but don't know who to take out of my midfielders..

Forwards are great. I didn't opt for Lukaku because I don't like his impredictable point hauls. One week he stars, then he blanks for weeks. As a Belgian I also really have doubts about him. He performed very bad for Belgium (again). That's why I prefer the in-form top scorer Vardy.

Hope this is of help to you and would appreciate for you to give feedback too 🙂

Thanks, Hannesdela. I think your team is similar to mine in a lot of ways, so I guess I like it! I also think Mahrez is an excellent choice is a cheap fifth mid, but I sold him only because I have accumulated strong selling value that allowed me to upgrade to Mane. I feel Mane has more big games in him going forward than Mahrez. Good luck!

I'm on a wildcard. Who should be in my team?

    I'm currently thinking about:

    Myhill - Butland
Bellerin, Dawson, Cédric, Souaré and Francis
Sanchez, KDB, Payet, Mahrez and Ayew
    Pellé, Vardy and Ighalo

    Good to go?

    Which is the best:

    A) Aguero > bony (-4)
    B) Aguero > pelle (-4) and have no city attack
    C) save and hope mahrez starts. Then lose kun next week.

You could get an EVE defender instead.

      It depends..
It is not worth for me, as I have Myhill (4,5) and want EVE defender (Jagielka 5,4 or Coleman if I have funds 5,9) so the cost is 9,9

If I want Howard 5,1 and WBA defender (Dawson 5,1) it is 10,2 althogether.
So... not for me but from GW 11 I think one defensive player from EVE is a must cause they have great fixtures till the end.

Too many talks of hits when we the captain choice is genuinely going to be the make or break thing this week.

Agueros injury has given us 3 very solid captain choices for the FFS template.

Whos everyone going for? Persuade us why if you can be bothered!!

Dammit I don't know how I didn't see that.. Clearly the obvious choice.

Which, as a matter of fact, is not an anagram of anything remotely sensible 🙂

    Pelle Costa Vardy

Worth transferring out Kolarov for -4?

Other defenders are Cedric, Jevans, Souare and Francis.
