Danny Ings and Joe Gomez are ruled out for the rest of the season with knee ligament damage for Liverpool. Laurent Koscielny requires a late fitness test as Arsenal head to Watford, West Ham have doubts over Winston Reid and Aaron Cresswell, whilst Alexis Sanchez and Riyad Mahrez will be assessed after arriving back late from internationals.

Having only arrived back in London on Thursday afternoon following Chile’s win in Peru, Alexis Sanchez is set to be assessed ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Watford. Elsewhere in the Gunners camp, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini return to the squad, while Laurent Koscielny faces a late fitness test. Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck are said to be recovering well from their injuries, with the latter pencilled in for a January return.

Slaven Bilic revealed that Andy Carroll is back in contention after missing West Ham’s trip to Sunderland last Gameweek, but Aaron Creswell and Winston Reid are being monitored closely to determine their capacity to start at Crystal Palace. Enner Valencia and Alex Song require another two to three weeks to get up to speed, whilst Angelo Ogbonna could be in contention after returning to training.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Joe Gomez is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he sustained anterior cruciate ligament damage. Danny Ings suffered a similar injury during Klopp’s maiden training session, ruling him out for around six months. Liverpool’s trip to Tottenham arrives too early for Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino, but the pair are expected to return to team training next week.

Spurs new boy Heung-Min Son faces up to another three weeks out as he nurses a foot injury. Meanwhile, Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason will also play no part against the Reds but could be involved in the Lilywhites’ midweek Europa League tie against Anderlecht. Eric Dier serves a one-match suspension this weekend.

Wes Hoolahan recovered from the heel knock he picked up last time out against Leicester City over the recent international break. Gary Hooper is back training following his ankle complaint, whilst Youssouf Mulumbu won’t feature against Newcastle United but could make a return to the matchday squad next Gameweek.

Roberto Martinez said that Everton’s full international contingent returned home fit and healthy. John Stones is expected to be passed fit, whilst Seamus Coleman returned to action over the internationals. The likes of Leighton Baines, Tom Cleverley and Steven Pienaar are approximately two weeks away from being up for selection.

Following the death of his mother, Mame Biram Diouf has been granted compassionate leave and will miss Stoke City’s trip to Swansea City on Monday evening. Mark Hughes expects the Senegal international to report back at the beginning of next week. Ryan Shawcross continued his road to recovery with a 90-minute run-out against Birmingham in a behind-closed-doors friendly, setting him up for a possible return in two weeks’ time.

Ronald Koeman could hand Jordy Clasie – who played 90 minutes in a friendly against Ajax last week – his league bow when Leicester pay a visit. On the injury front, Shane Long damaged his ankle ligament during the international break and will be sidelined for two to four weeks.

Claudio Ranieri will check on the fitness of Riyad Mahrez and Jeffrey Schlupp prior to the Foxes’ trip to the south coast as the pair only reported back on Thursday morning. Nathan Dyer bolsters Ranieri’s wide options after recovering from a knee injury.

Damien Delaney, Chung-yong Lee, Mile Jedinak and Jordon Mutch all returned to training for Crystal Palace and will be available for selection when the Hammers roll up to Selhurst Park. Joel Ward and Connor Wickham are still sidelined, though.

In the absence of Tim Krul, Rob Elliot will play between the sticks for Newcastle United. Paul Dummett, Daryl Janmaat, Massadio Haidara and Jack Colback trained during the week so are in contention for a start at home to Norwich City.

Despite not being fit enough to turn out for their countries during the international break, Ikechi Anya, Allan Nyom and Valon Behrami are expected to recover in time to feature against Arsenal on Saturday. Jurado is contending with a hamstring injury but could return to training within the fortnight.

Jonny Evans, James Morrison and Saido Berahino are rated 50-50 for West Brom’s home clash with Sunderland, according to Tony Pulis. Salomon Rondon will be assessed after arriving back late from internationals.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Taking Payet out for Hazard and one of Mahrez/Vardy out for either Lukaku/Wally on my WC..
This Wildcard could end up being a curse
Atleast i've kept DeBruyne LR 😉

No such thing as a season keeper.. and his goal threat aint that great and they've got poor fixtures coming up over the next 7.

Not at all, if one of your attackers doesn't play, a defender will be brought from the bench. And you still lose your chip.

Would you start Evans over Cedric if both fit? Very split on who the better one is anyway?

No Man City coverage isn't great but would really need -8 more or to hit WC to get Yaya/De Bruyne in.. It is tempting (the WC)!

I think Evans starting with Cedric on bench is fine (super low probability that Evans comes on) but keep up on the news tomorrow morning.

Only issue on the midfield is the hit or miss nature of all of your midfield currently (Sanchez fitness etc.) but saving the WC probably best until we get more data

True. Perhaps players should agree to a flat % reduction in their wages so the clubs can afford to reduce the price of tickets.

They should be contributing something to Bosman anyway, since he was the one with the balls and sense to take his club to the European Court of Human rights.

I'm currently only on a -4 this week but still have Kolarov, Evans and Ayew.
My bench is Richards (vs chelsea) and Francis (vs city) plus non-playing Watmore (urgh)...
Is it worth sticking with my -4 and risking it for now, or replace Evans with either Dawson or a Southampton defender?

      Don't worry about Ayew.

Let's wait for Kolarov news and then reassess if one of him or Evans needs to go, but i think an additional hit to get things in order would be worth it this week.

Haha welcome to the club 😀 ! Crazy week for injuries. Just think, at least it's happening to a lot of people as well as you - going to be a low-scoring gameweek unless there are a few cheeky goal fests I reckon! Might be time for a bold captain choice...

I have KDB as captain but just put Bony in for Aguero, risky but if it pays off I could be swimming in points.

Aguero is still 13.3 so I can afford to keep him untill tomorrow (my selling value is 13.1 probably like most of us ) he can lose 0.1 and I'm fine.

So.. the question is it worth to get Costa or Lukaku for a (-4 hit )?

    My offensive line is :
Sanchez -Mane- Payet - Ayew - Mahrez
    Pelle - Vardy

If you don't trust him then go Lukaku.

I put Bony in for Aguero but will be putting Lukaku in for Gomis next week.

Bony vs Bourn, Norwich, Villa in next four.
Lukaku vs Utd and Arsenal in next two (so could wait a week or two).

My front 8 is very similar (KdB and Ighalo instead of Mane & Vardy).
I'm leaning towards going for Lukaku. Ideally I would get Lukaku in a few weeks, but I don't want to end up with a -4.
The other thing is that Lukaku enables Ayew -> Hazard it becomes necessary.

      I think that's around standard after people do the Aguero - Pelle / Lukaku transfer... i've got 5.0 (13.1 - 8.1)

    So I'm on a -4. I have 5.2m ITB

    Anything worth a -8?

    Butland
    Kolarov - Zouma - Hangeland
    Payet - Mahrez - Sanchez - Hazard
    Pelle - Vardy - Martial

Anyone have an idea of how long Silva is going to be out for? Long enough to warrant transferring him out for a hit?

    RTM:

    Cech

    Evans, Kolarov, Alderweireld

Payet, Hoolahan, Sanchez, Hazard (C), KDB

    Pelle, Sakho

    McCarthy / Defoe / Targett / Muniesa

Who do I FT next week? 1.0 ITB
Defoe will be benched under Big Sam?
Targett not in the squad for the last few games
Muniesa not getting minutes for Stoke
Looks like WH has taken the spot from McCarthy?

So should I risk a -4 to do the following?

    Current Team
    Mignolet/McCarthy
    Darmian/Kolarov/Targett/Nyom/Francis
    Silva/Ayew/Hoolahan/Coutino/Mahrez
    Martial/Aguero/Gomis

    I'm thinking
    Aguero --> Pelle or Costa
    Silva --> Sanchez
    Coutino --> De Bruyne

I would take a -4 hit tho. Maybe keep Coutino to avoid the hit?

Not sure if I want Richards to play instead of Kolarov could get negative points. Not looking good for us Kola owners

Does anyone else have a huge home/away fluctuation week on week from this GW onwards? I have basically all my players at home this week and then nearly all away the week following but I don’t know if there’s much I’d change! On WC FWIW.

I don't think it matters unless you have a decent home C option every week and youre not playing all your defence away from home every second week

Defence is ok, my front 8 though is a 7/1 split with Sanchez being the 1 so I guess that helps.

Also would you double up on Sot on WC (Mane/Pelle) or get Payet for Mane, and would you swap Cabaye for Wijnaldum?

I think it's a good move to double up on Pelle/Mane, only concern might be Manes lack of mins this week.

I'd rather have Cabaye than Wijnaldum because I think CPL are a much better team ad will score more goals (although Wijnaldum is a great punt too)

Anyone fancy a cheeky bet on golden boot with Aguero ruled out for a while?

Aguero is still hot favourite but Sanchez is available at 7/1 or if you fancy a real punt Pelle at 25/1

      • 12 Years
      10 years, 5 months ago

Took Aguero at 3/1 pre-season and sticking to it

Rather vardy up top instead of martial and Mahrez to someone else. Payet for example
