Danny Ings and Joe Gomez are ruled out for the rest of the season with knee ligament damage for Liverpool. Laurent Koscielny requires a late fitness test as Arsenal head to Watford, West Ham have doubts over Winston Reid and Aaron Cresswell, whilst Alexis Sanchez and Riyad Mahrez will be assessed after arriving back late from internationals.

Having only arrived back in London on Thursday afternoon following Chile’s win in Peru, Alexis Sanchez is set to be assessed ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Watford. Elsewhere in the Gunners camp, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini return to the squad, while Laurent Koscielny faces a late fitness test. Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck are said to be recovering well from their injuries, with the latter pencilled in for a January return.

Slaven Bilic revealed that Andy Carroll is back in contention after missing West Ham’s trip to Sunderland last Gameweek, but Aaron Creswell and Winston Reid are being monitored closely to determine their capacity to start at Crystal Palace. Enner Valencia and Alex Song require another two to three weeks to get up to speed, whilst Angelo Ogbonna could be in contention after returning to training.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Joe Gomez is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he sustained anterior cruciate ligament damage. Danny Ings suffered a similar injury during Klopp’s maiden training session, ruling him out for around six months. Liverpool’s trip to Tottenham arrives too early for Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino, but the pair are expected to return to team training next week.

Spurs new boy Heung-Min Son faces up to another three weeks out as he nurses a foot injury. Meanwhile, Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason will also play no part against the Reds but could be involved in the Lilywhites’ midweek Europa League tie against Anderlecht. Eric Dier serves a one-match suspension this weekend.

Wes Hoolahan recovered from the heel knock he picked up last time out against Leicester City over the recent international break. Gary Hooper is back training following his ankle complaint, whilst Youssouf Mulumbu won’t feature against Newcastle United but could make a return to the matchday squad next Gameweek.

Roberto Martinez said that Everton’s full international contingent returned home fit and healthy. John Stones is expected to be passed fit, whilst Seamus Coleman returned to action over the internationals. The likes of Leighton Baines, Tom Cleverley and Steven Pienaar are approximately two weeks away from being up for selection.

Following the death of his mother, Mame Biram Diouf has been granted compassionate leave and will miss Stoke City’s trip to Swansea City on Monday evening. Mark Hughes expects the Senegal international to report back at the beginning of next week. Ryan Shawcross continued his road to recovery with a 90-minute run-out against Birmingham in a behind-closed-doors friendly, setting him up for a possible return in two weeks’ time.

Ronald Koeman could hand Jordy Clasie – who played 90 minutes in a friendly against Ajax last week – his league bow when Leicester pay a visit. On the injury front, Shane Long damaged his ankle ligament during the international break and will be sidelined for two to four weeks.

Claudio Ranieri will check on the fitness of Riyad Mahrez and Jeffrey Schlupp prior to the Foxes’ trip to the south coast as the pair only reported back on Thursday morning. Nathan Dyer bolsters Ranieri’s wide options after recovering from a knee injury.

Damien Delaney, Chung-yong Lee, Mile Jedinak and Jordon Mutch all returned to training for Crystal Palace and will be available for selection when the Hammers roll up to Selhurst Park. Joel Ward and Connor Wickham are still sidelined, though.

In the absence of Tim Krul, Rob Elliot will play between the sticks for Newcastle United. Paul Dummett, Daryl Janmaat, Massadio Haidara and Jack Colback trained during the week so are in contention for a start at home to Norwich City.

Despite not being fit enough to turn out for their countries during the international break, Ikechi Anya, Allan Nyom and Valon Behrami are expected to recover in time to feature against Arsenal on Saturday. Jurado is contending with a hamstring injury but could return to training within the fortnight.

Jonny Evans, James Morrison and Saido Berahino are rated 50-50 for West Brom’s home clash with Sunderland, according to Tony Pulis. Salomon Rondon will be assessed after arriving back late from internationals.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Guys I need some last minute help with my team please – feel like I am in a bit of a mess,
    My current team is;

    ……………………….Ruddy…………………………
    ……….Souare………Sagna…..Darmian……………..
    Hoolahan…….De Bruyne……..Coutinho……Sanchez
    ………..Martial……Pelle (c)…….Sakho…………….

    Subs………..McCarthy / Albrighton / Richards / Targett

I am already of -4 this week after doing Pedro > KDB and Kun > Pelle earlier. I have 5.7m in the bank.

    I am weighing up the below options;

    A) Stick with the above and if Sagna doesn’t play Richards will come in and probably do rubbish
    B) Play AoA chip and bring in Albrighton on in place of Sagna / Darmian
    C) Albrighton > Barkley (for -8) and play AoA with same defence question as B
    D) Albrighton > Mane (for -8) and play AoA with same defence question as B
    E) Targett > McAuley (for -8) and play in place of Sagna / Darmian
    F) Targett > Janmatt (for -8) and play in place of Sagna / Darmian

A few of us in our mini league do quarterly prizes and I have a lead of 22 points ahead of the next guy. I don’t think he is taking any hits so -8 would bring that down to 14 points.
I am also trying to think longer term and looking at Lukaku in for Sakho in GW 11.

Thanks in advance and all other suggestions are welcome.

      certainly don't play your AAO

I think all of your three defenders will actually start, especially if kolarov is out (you'll find out soon) - remember Zab is coming back from argentina and big game mid week - he hardly needs to play home to the cherries

I would so F personally, and bench Darmien

Its been discussed in articles and a lot of posts, but still cant decide on which SOU defender to get.

I am morally connected with bertrand based on last season. I think Van Dijk will provide more goal threat. Its between those two for me.

It's very likely, indeed, that we could have made more than those 50 points by investing money elsewhere and having better captains. Fortunately, I didn't captain him every fecking week during that miserable period.

I doubt it. A lot are holding off selling because they can stomach the first drop - and they will be the ones who ensure that there will be a second one. I expect him to get back to base price of 13M - but no more than that.

good logic there. there will also be people who brought him in this week before the injury who dont want to take a hit to get rid

What's the situation with Palace goalkeepers? Speroni likely to return shortly or is Hennessey predicted to stay for a while?

Hennessey's place to lose. If he has a bad run of form though then speroni bound to come back in.

Pelle or Lukaku to replace Aguero?

Also, is it worth taking a points hit to get De Bruyne in for Silva?

appreciate some advice on what to do with my midfield:

    payet ritchie silva mahrez (wanyama)

Option A ==> straight swap silva to KdB

Option B ==> given that ritchie/wanyama are expected to have low returns this week, swap either of them for KdB this week. Silva not confirmed out yet, so he still may feature. Next gameweek will decide whether to drop Silva/KdB for Sanchez or monitor injury developements

I would do Silva to KDB no point on having the two of them in the same team, Sanchez+KDB is the right combo

Do people get a sense that there isn't a uniform, objective logic to price rises/drops this year?

I mean Aguero has seen a 4-5% drop off in ownership this week and still hasn't dropped. It seems that players like KdB/Sanchez/Pedro all had protracted periods of stasis before rises/falls.

It's almost as if there are set targets for rises/falls but then FPL make a call on whether a player goes up or down for the balance of the game. As in it's not just automatic on their systems that players do actually rise or fall.

Sounds conspiracist I know, but I've been on WC this past two weeks and I've barely made .2 on any player compared to the good old days. Which is fine,it's just very different.

fplstatistics must be in on the conspiracy then as they seem to have it mapped pretty accurately

      Nope.
There is a definite logic working this season, just that it is different to last season.

Only anomaly was Pedro, other price rises and drops have been perfect.

I don't think so. The algorithm is fairly set in stone. wildcard transfers not counting are a reason why the big WC weeks don't see much in the way of price changes.

I wish I just knew whether a player was going to be in or out, this whole "knock - 75% chance of playing" stuff is ruining my planning.

Could end up with a completely unneeded -8
